Lake Como, St Moritz & Bernina Express
A really wonderful and enjoyable holiday. The hotel was comfortable with good food and all the staff were extremely polite and obliging. Having a room with a balcony overlooking Lake Como was definitely the right choice for the stunning views and sunrises. All the trips were well thought out and had a good balance of group and freetime.
The highlight of the holiday had to be the trip on the Bernina Express through the snow covered Alps to St Moritz then the return trip by road through the Passo del Maloja (14 hairpin bends).
We had a great group of people on our trip and made many new friends. However, the one person we have to thank is our Tour Manager, Fabrizio Teresi. He is a wonderful man and his knowledge of the area was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he was always on hand for any queries even during his rest times. He certainly was 'Fab' and made sure that everyone had an excellent holiday.

Musa was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in answering my concerns re flights and payment. I found him very personable and we had a very pleasant conversation regarding the forthcoming trip. Puglia and the south Undiscovered Italy 20th-27th October
The tour leader was first class, very helpful especially enabling elderly and disabled travellers to experience the towns and villages. A pleasure to listen to with a calm, reassuring manner I would not hesitate to recommend Luca.
The coach was comfortable driven by Mario a very capable driver and the visits were interesting.
The hotel de levante in Torre Canne is clean and I should imagine cool in the summer with pleasant easy beach access.
The bar staff are very professional, helpful and pleasant.
The hotel buffet breakfast selection is good.
The evening food however is very limited, boring, repetitive and lacking in the flavour that onion, garlic and fresh herbs would supply.
Having each aspect of the meal served as a separate course was strange and did nothing to enhance the experience.
There was no real provision for vegetarians and there were only two options at the pasta course and of meat or fish at the main.
Although fresh fruit was available as an alternative to cake in the evening this was not offered.
Also balsamic was available for the salad but this was not on the table.
Having the tables set out for two people and separated from each other made conversation very difficult especially with the sound volume in the room.
The restaurant experience is very much open to improvement.
The holiday booking process was unsatisfactory. I received an email and was told when I called that if I did not make immediate payment my holiday would be cancelled. I had already made full payment. I was also charged twice for the same optional trips. Jesse Robertson did go on to refund these overpayments and put my mind at rest.
Altogether a very mixed experience with some depressing negatives contrasting with some excellent positives.

However, we take the comments regarding the dining experience very seriously. We recognize that the evening meals fell short of expectations due to a lack of variety, limited options for those with dietary preferences, and a layout that did not encourage social interaction. We are sharing these specific details with the hotel management team to review their menu diversity, seasoning, and dining room organization. Additionally, we acknowledge the administrative errors during the reservation process. We are addressing these internal communication and billing discrepancies with our booking department to ensure such stressful situations are not repeated. We value this constructive input as we work to refine our services.

Just back from an amazing Newmarket…
Just back from an amazing Newmarket trip to Peru, Equador and the Galapagos. The trip was full of experiences, nature, history and food. The guides were excellent and gave 110%. The trip involves some rough walking and several boat trips.

This was a wonderful trip, beautiful places, a great hotel with friendly staff and the best breakfast buffet We have ever had and changed every day. Our guides ,Tariq and Fabrizio were excellent, friendly and very helpful and informative. They made the holiday such a pleasure. Krakow in Poland October 2026
We went on a trip to Krakow in Poland last week. Extremely well organised, good hotel close to old part of the city. Our tour guide was Duncan who was excellent. Provided useful info on what to see, how to use the tram network, places to eat and was knowledgeable about the places we visited on the organised trips

Solo Highlights of Scottish Highlands
Gordon Ross our Tour Manager on my Highlights of the Scottish Highlands holiday in October 2026, was very knowledgeable about this area. He passed on interesting information on the places we visited and passed through.
It was a well organised trip away with a friendly and helpful tour manager (Gordon) and coach driver (John).
My last day would have been long and boring waiting for an evening flight and just staying in the hotel having checked out by 10am. Thankfully Gordon and John had organised an unscheduled trip up to the Cairngorms and the Isle of Bute. So the last day wasn't a wasted day and I had the opportunity to see more of the lovely area.
Good group of fellow travellers and excellent Tour Manager and driver made this a great few days away.
