Buiten huurkosten, komen er nog buiten proportie verzekeringskosten bij om eigen risico af te kopen. Verplichten je de duurste te nemen, omdat ze eigen risico blokkeren op je cc en een groter bedrag gaat gewoon niet. Een zeer agressieve manier van verkopen. Niet aangenaam. Uiteindelijk 525€ betaald voor 5 dagen!!!
Veel grotere bus gekregen dan aangevraagd.
Een halve dag weg met naar garage rijden ivm gebreken. Achterste bank niet te gebruiken. Geen compensatie.
Laten je veel te veel betalen voor benzine.
Duurt erg lang voordat je borg terug is.
Oplichters zijn het.

we rented a car to Malta First Car Hire on March 30th and to date we still have not been given our security deposit back. Completely different conditions from what we read during the online booking and we were told that the deposit would be withheld upon delivery of the car and not during the rental (we were told that we would get it back immediately). totally incorrect and unclear policy. I hope this money will come back otherwise I will take legal action.

J'aurais dû lire les avis... effectivement, des ESCROCS ! Vous récupérez une voiture remplie à moitié et devez la rendre vide autant que possible (bah oui, les petits malins, tout ce que vous laissez dedans c'est tout bénef pour eux...) ; pour ce même remplissage à mi-réservoir, ça m'a coûté 15€ (petite hyundai i10, réservoir de 40 litres grand max). Et bien eux me l'ont facturé 48,50€ !! Inadmissible !

Angeblich würde meine Master Kreditkarte für die Kaution nicht funktionieren, um das Fahrzeug zu bekommen muste ich 120,-€ für die Kaution mit der EC Karte bezahlen. Dei 350,-€ Kaution wurde danach abgebucht und nach 2 Monaten noch immer nicht zurück überwiesen.

Kontaktaufnahme sehr schwierig,
Ich habe das Fahrzeug leider erst 3 Stunden später abgeholt wie vereinbart wieder 25;- € mehr gezahlt.

Ich denke diese Vorgehensweise hat System um möglichst viel Geld aus dem Kunden zu ziehen.

unfortunately we also had bad experience with them they charged us 48.5 euro for half tank before using the car. with that money you could fill more than one tank for the car they gave us. also they block our money for 30 days seems a bit to much. had better experience

Escrocs éviter ce site nous venons de perdre beaucoup d'argent par escroquerie à la carte bancaire. Contrat non respecté.ne répond pas .

They try to scam you
At first it is to state that I've experienced two customer service employees. The one that I returned the car to was very nice. The one that gave the car was extremely nasty. He charged 48 euros for half a tank (20L) and then tried to scam me into lowering the deposit because of insurance. I was already fully insured, but the man told me "Not with me!". So this was his slogan for me paying another extra 40 euros to lower the deposit by 1000,- euros. Don't do this, everything the man tries is a scam. Should be fired on the spot.
Also, they gave me a car with all-round dents and scratches, also the inside chair was dirty with lotion spots.

ILLEGAL OPERATIONS RIGHT HERE. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE A SCAM!

1. The customer service was absolutely disgusting. Very rude and unprofessional

2. They blackmailed me into taking the extra insurance otherwise they were going to charge a €2,500 security bond. When my credit card wouldn’t hold €2,500 they said I was going to lose my money and not get a car. They already took out €891 plus an additional €440 for the extra insurance. They then held €500 on top of this. 3 separate transactions which I was also charged foreign fees for each.

3. The baby seat we hired was BROKEN and they would not replace it. All their seats were broken, dirty and smelt really bad. I ended up buying a brand new seat for my baby which cost me another €300.

4. We spent 2 hours trying to install a broken car seat (they don’t install it for you) and negotiate with them that we needed a replacement. During this time we were stuck in a hot car park with our 4 month year old baby crying. We had just got off a 22 hour flight from Australia. They were NOT accomodating at all. They just wanted to take our hard earn’t money.

5. We ended up giving the car back a week early and returning home because we felt so unsafe for our baby in the car seat. They did not refund us for the remaining week.

This company is very dodgy and not following the law. They messed with the wrong person because they are going to get audited and lose their rental license. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Expect a visit from consumer affairs very soon and enjoy your prison cell you scumbag!

AVOID RIP OFFS.....
I was supposed to pay 130 euros according to the web site.
At the end, they obliged me to take the full insurance as I don't have a credit card (only debit card).
+ half a tank which was charge more that the double of the price.
And during the stay I've get fine without knowing it, normally the amout was 23.29 euros but they charge me 70.49 euros.
So at the end the real price was €298.20 + the fine €70.49 = €368.69.
It nearly 3 time the amount from the web site !!!

Stole 250€ for a car we did not receive and never gave our money back. On top of that outstandingly rude customer service.

At the pick up they took a ton of pictures of the car. At the drop off they spent at least 10 minutes looking for damage with a flashlight (believe me 10 minutes is long and not standard for a rental car). When they found a tiny one they wanted to charge me and start negotiating: initially 400€ then 250€. I had not hit the car so I refused to pay and they claimed they would retain the deposit (3k€). My impression is that everything is done on purpose. After 15 minutes discussion I was running late with the plane so I accepted to pay 250€ but I drop a comment saying that I was paying only because of my plane schedule and not because I agreed that I damaged the car. Anyway, they achieved their goal. These are facts. Stay away from this rental company

- notre vol a été annulé et reporté de 4 jours. La réservation du véhicule a été "gentillement" conservée mais les 4 jours ont été facturés.
- la voiture correspond au modèle mais son équipement est daté.
- le volume de carburant est facturé le double de sa valeur et des frais de parking sont ajoutés.
- bien être attentif au fait que si vous possédez une carte de débit et non de crédit ( et même si votre plafond vous permet de bloquer la caution), vous paierez un peu plus de 20 euros par jour en supplément.

If I could give these crooks zero stars I would. Please do not use this company they are criminals. I reserved a vehicle online and they attempted to give me a much larger vehicle that was not prepared. Looking inside the vehicle was dirty and had multiple baby car seats inside. I did not take possession of the vehicle. I rented a 7 passenger van and these crooks attempted to give me a 9 passenger vehicle and said that this was equivalent to the term 'similar' which was never stated in the booking confirmation. In the country I was visiting the driving is difficult and I explained this is not the vehicle I rented. I had called a couple days ago as well because my family and I missed our connecting flight and I wanted to cancel. The owner and operator was very rude and argued with me and said a full cancellation amount would be charged. I said I would pay for a day or two or some amount but these criminals have no heart or understanding. Twice the owner hung up on me after screaming and shouting. When I was in the office in person the person helping us sold us a bill of goods stating if the extra insurance was not purchased it could potentially cost me close to $4k more. If you rent from this place they will charge you $500-600 more in insurance on top of the rental. Just absolute crooks. There are ways to recoup your losses should you fall for this scam. When I was in the office the person helping us said he could not call the owner because it was 4:30pm and he wouldn't be available. I called him right in front of him and the owner answered and I handed my phone to the employee. The owner proceeded to yell and scream at me over the phone. He then tried to be a wise guy and say "oh you want a 7 seater, I'll take two seats out and now from 9 seater it will be a 7 seater." I wonder if his mother knows what he does for a living. Scamming and treating people horrifically. The next day they called to try and give me a 5 seater. Again, not the car I rented and verified months ago. Of course there would be no difference in payment though. I declined in order to recoup my losses by not taking possession. As I left the office another car rental company next door saw what was going on and this person said you can't trust those guys and that they pull fast ones all the time. I only tried to use this company becuase they were the only company offering the vehicle I needed/wanted only to find out they advertise falsely. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!!!

Very unfriendly reception at the rental station. The booked price is not the final price. Taxes of 50 euros were added. All extremely confusing and cumbersome. Promises to email us were not kept. Incorrect information for vehicle return. Incredible 1700 euros deposit. The worst thing that has happened to me in 30 years of travel. So hands off.

never had an issue with this company until this year. Shocking customer service. Very rude to the point I was in tears when collecting the car as thought my holiday was ruined as there was an issue with being able to use my debit card and not having enough on my credit card (lone female tourist) and they couldn't care less. T's&C's not easily findable (not even issued when booking confirmation comes through), really have to search for them or do a fake booking to find them.
On top of this they overcharged me and when I tried to get the difference back they claimed that it was the correct price, even thought the price quoted on the booking confirmation vs the price on the collection invoice were clearly different and showed them this. They really could not care less.
They charge you for half a tank of fuel, even on a 10 day holiday using the car everyday that was too much fuel so they're making money out of that too.
I go to Malta every year and will NEVER be using this company again.

The initial hire was okay and the car fairly decent. They do however think they can make charges up as they go along and if you question these in relation to the contract, they are abusive. Obviously, customer service is not a thing! The guy I spoke to said that they record calls - I sincerely hope they do and that one of his bosses would listen to the call he had with me where he was goading me! Unbelievable!

The price for rental was cheap €60 for 5 days, but what they don't tell you is that upon arrival they'll charge for half tank of fuel €40. It's a small Island, we couldn't use all that so was just throwing our money away.
Next they'll state a €1,250 deposit frozen on the Credit Card, but paying an extra €19 per day (€114) reduces this to €250.
My issue is that these additional costs could have been disclosed upon initial booking, or in the reminder emails leading up to the holiday. If I'd known I could have budgeted better, so this just feels unfair. It was quick to get the car, easy to find and the car was fine, no issue getting the deposit back. But I do think they need to start telling customers about full cost first as this seems to be the only problem.

Der var ingen skranke og ingen skilte til at finde på First car hire i Maltas Lufthavn.
Da vi fandt det ved hjælp fra andre firmaer i nærheden, modtog de ikke debit kort og det havde Discover Car, som de samarbejder med, i bekræftelsen skrevet var muligt.

Vi kunne heller ikke lægge et depositum i kontanter. De ville KUN accepterer et tilkøb af en ekstra forsikring til kr. 180 EURO. Dette ønskede vi naturligvis ikke. Og derfor fravalgte vi at leje bilen og tog Maltas fine busser stedet for. Man kan på Malta købe et buskort for 21 EURO og bruge det en hel uge på alle tider af døgnet. Ellers koster det 2 EURO pr. tur uanset hvor du skal hen.
Jeg ville finde et andet firma en dette selskab, hvis ikke bussen passer dig/Jer. Men husk at der er kørsel i venstre side af vejen.

Une grosse escroquerie …on vous fait payer la location en premier lieu et on vous demande de payer la garantie de 1700€ … la garantie ne peut apparemment pas se faire sur carte de débit - mais une carte de crédit alors que c est pas spécifié sur le site - du coup dans l impossibilité de payer , on demande à être remboursé et la l employé nous rit au nez . Il nous propose une assurance par jour à 25 euros pour baisser la garantie qui passerait sur une carte de débit - bref une grosse arnaque - du coup on est parti sans la
