I hate the ordering system

I hate the ordering system - it’s absurdly difficult to find the decaf version of a coffee - additionally the coffee itself was watery and bitter - super disappointing experience

APPALLING SERVICE@ BLACK SHEEP COFFEE BROMLEY -DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY …
On Monday 5th January 2026 in the late afternoon, I popped into the Bromley branch to revive myself with a coffee after some shopping. I have been there several times using their kosk to place orders with no problem.
For the first time,I tried to use part of my Christmas present from my daughter, namely a gift card against a purchase of a medium decaffeinated lion's mane coffee in one of your kiosks. The transaction kept being timed out annoyingly as I wanted to use my gift card to pay. Unfortunately, their system is not user friendly as it didn't recognise scanning the app on my gift card so I had to type in the-very long!- card number. It seemed to say that I had the sum of £5.48, I think it was, deducted from my card before logging out-again!!! So I waited for my order to appear on the screen. Between 5-10 ins later, I approached the barista Charley, who turned out to be the manager, and asked for my coffee. She said it didn't show up on her system so I politely explained what I'd done and asked her if she could check the kiosk for confirmation of my order.
To my astonishment, she said the system couldn't do that. I then asked her to scan my card to see if an amount had been taken out but she said -again!- that she couldn't do that and I had to use the email contact numbers on the back of my gift card.
Charley seemed completely uncaring and unwilling to help me out and said I had to pay for another coffee if I wanted one. I didn't like the implication I would lie for a mere £5.48 or thereabouts and told her so. When I was at university a long time ago, I had a Saturday job at M & S and they drummed into us the importance of keeping the customer happy - look how well they are doing and I have continued spending my money with them and John Lewis for over 35 years now. Why? Because they provide gold standard customer service; sadly, all I got using your brand was a ‘couldn't care less’ attitude from Charley. Is this how you train their staff? Shame on them. Further, why can’t they check the balance on my gift card immediately at point of contact as you can with other gift card eg M & S, Bluewater etc? They can, so what is wrong with their software? Moreover, why does it time out so annoyingly fast ( I guess they’re too eager to move on and take the next customer’s money).
I will ask my daughter never to buy a gift card for me from your brand again and will share my experience with her and her friends-what they choose to do is of course their choice.
It's such a shame as I like to support independent brands, but not theirs. I would like other people to be aware of my experience if they decide to buy expensive coffee like theirs. I like good coffee and am in the fortunate position to be able to afford it, but why should I pass my money their way when there are other good coffee shops around with very good customer service?

Poor Attitude And Poor Customer Service

My daughter ordered a cold vanilla matcha latte with 2 pumps of white chocolate it came tasting of a hint of gingerbread so we took it back and spoke to the people serving and they remade it twice and everytime it came with a hint of gingerbread on the 3rd time the person bringing it over said " I dont know what's going on we tried it after we put the syrup and milk in and its fine" we said " here try it I promise it tastes of gingerbread " she said " I dont know whats happeneing " i said " i promise try it i swear it tastes of gingerbread " she refused and we got told " are you sure all 3 of you not imagining it and we have made it 3 times " and walked off poor customer service and attitude we just left the full drink untouched terrible attitude

Nice place!

Great! Whenever my family comes to Edinburgh we go here. Great service, good drinks, but one thing, they're hot drinks are boiling and burn your tongue. I'm mainly talking about hot chocolate by the way.

I was ordered a large latte in Heathrow…

I was ordered a large latte in Heathrow this morning around 05.00 with robusta beans and the girl at the counter given me a regular latte in a large cup and filled with more milk than coffee . I will not recommend to anyone as for 4.69 you could get two coffees. I'm very disappointed.
