Anwaltliche Vertretung benötigt
Unsere Fähre haben wir bei goFerry im Dezember letzten Jahres gebucht und dafür eine Bestätigung bekommen. Im darauf folgenden März wurde die Reise von goFerry ohne Begründung abgesagt. Wir sollen umbuchen oder eine Gutschrift annehmen. Da unsere Urlaube bereits beantragt waren, ging sich die vorgeschlagenen Umbuchungen nicht aus. Wir hatten also den Schaden uns um Alternativen umschauen zu müssen, wollten aber dafür nur unsere Bezahlung zurück. go.Ferry wollte nur ca. 1000 € von 1320 € zurück überweisen. Nach langem hin und her und dem schlussendlichen Einschreiten unserer Anwältin wurde dann doch bezahlt. Dieser nichtvorhandene Kundenservice ist eine Zumutung. Die Rechtschutzversicherung hat funktioniert. Wir haben dann direkt bei der Fähre gebucht. War natürlich auch viel günstiger.

In such cases, we jump in for immediate assistance and viable alternatives. That's our role as an intermediary. Unfortunately, you didn't want to receive our services any longer and we, exceptionally, refunded you, against our terms, the full paid amount.

Be aware of third party agencies charging more
Trying to book ferry from Malta to Sicily. First thing to pop up after a google search was Go Ferry Virtu Ferries. So I booked tickets not realising my travel partner was already organising tickets. I had booked a flex ticket so went ahead with cancellation soon after booking, assuming I’d be fully refunded. I wasn’t expecting to be charged 50 euros in fees on a “flex” 100% cancellation refund ticket. Be aware if you do need to cancel for any reason you don’t get 100% back. I cancelled within half an hour of booking (as we booked in error) for a trip more than 3 months away. Realised afterwards we weren’t booking directly thought Virtu and that Go Ferries is an external agency, so checked with Virtu and their price for the same tickets was about 100 Euro cheaper. Lesson learned - always book directly through the ferry company, not external travel agencies. Go Ferries Customer service were quick to respond by email - apparently that’s what the 40 euro support fee is all about. Plus 10 Euro transaction fee. 100% does not mean 100% of the cost back. Beware.

Flex tarifs are 100% refundable way less than 3 months in advance minus support fees as stated in the price tariff during booking (and not in the usual small print). We also requested via PayPal to send us more information about your booking so that we can deep dive but you haven't responded yet. More, our economy tarffs are also refundable and cheaper!
