I've been thinking for some time as to how I might share my utter contempt for Simply Electronics and then came across this site. I have to say that all of the one-star comments I have read are totally accurate.
I ordered a lens for my Canon SLR on 07/04/16 and, over the next 3 months my order 'status' progressed thus (only after e-mail or telephone contact):
Awaiting Dispatch
Order Backlog
Order on Priority
On 31/05/16 I cancelled my order and requested a refund.My order status then progressed through:
Order Held
Refund Submitted
Refund on Queue
Refund in Progress ... and finally, the very reassuring ......
Refund on Priority Rank !!!!!!
On 06/07/16 I requested a chargeback from my Creditcard Company and received the money in full from them.(well done TescoBank)
It is my opinion that this whole operation is a scam and am relieved that I was able to get my money back, some people are obviously not so lucky.
I would advise everybody buying online to pay by Creditcard especially if the item is costing more than £100 so that they are covered by Chargeback rules.
I am pleased to see that the website is no longer accessible, I hope that I have played a small part in its downfall!!

Have now received an e-mail to inform me that this company is being wound up with an attached form to complete as a creditor due to being owed money by them .. I won't bother as I've already had my Chargeback from Tesco Bank.
I just hope they don't resurface under another name .. BEWARE !!

I bought a Canon 5D mark iii camera body. The price of the item is really good almost cheapest in the market. But the customer service is not so good. On the purchase it said item will be deliverexpected in 7 -10 working days. 10 working days I think more than enough for anything to be delivered anywhere around the world. It wasn't deliverEd on the 10th day. I called the customer service and they said that the item coming from China and I have to pay custom tax to get the item release. I wasn't notified before the purchase or any time in between. I had call and find out that I had to pay custom tax. After I paid the tax it still took Them another 5 working days to deliver when item was here. They almost made me loose a contract. They also try to charge me restocking fee when I told them I want a full refund if the item is not delivered within certain date.
If anyone want to purchase anything I suggest call them and clear your terms beforehand.

I wish I had done my research on this company before! A short while after ordering I found these horrendous reviews about this company, and immediately cancelled my order. A month later, no refund, however a lot of stories about how they were working with their payment merchant, blah blah.
After the 30 days required by my card company I passed everything onto them and had a refund within a week.
And now their company website does not take orders (or allow you to login!). I hope they have gone out of business. If you placed an order, i'd get onto your card company right away!

It's all been said by enough conned buyers who have wasted their hard earned cash with this scammer.
I knew as soon as the bogus excuses started to appear on a daily basis and I too have instructed my bank to attempt recovery of my lost money for goods that were never going to be supplied.
I should have known better not to trust a domain with .net but lesson learned the hard way.
Let's just hope that justice is served soon.

The word scam is perhaps harsh as an item previously ordered from them did arrive but was weeks late.

Unfortunately no such luck with my latest purchase for a phone worth over £300.

Despite repeated contact I just kept getting fobbed off - "we have a high volume of orders that are causing delays", "your order is now promoted to priority dispatch" etc.

It now appears they have gone out of business, their web site is closed.
An email to the specified address receives an automated reply of:-
"This is an automated response. We regret to inform you that SimpyElectronics is no longer processing orders.You may wish to contact your bank /card issuer regarding any transactions."

So I contacted my credit card provider Barclaycard (who have excellent customer service) and secured an immediate refund.

Hopefully others caught up in this were also wise enough to pay by credit card and will thus also manage to get a refund via their card issuer. Make sure you keep any e-mails and print-outs of your order and correspondence in case they are required as evidence that the order existed.

I am still waiting on an order I have placed on the Galaxy s7 edge and Gear VR combo. I had ordered it on 21/6/16 it is now a month later and like with other I have not received my products.

I have called customer services and have had the standard response "we have had a lot of order, and will dispatch it early next week" - I was told this last week when I called. At this time scale I could have built both products myself.

Do not risk your money, there are other sites where you will pay about £30 more for the same combination and actually get it (As it stands, I have so far paid over £500 for nothing)

Ordered a lens from here before reading other reviews , and got the same Lack of customer service as most other reviewers.
Not even a confirmation email from them to say the order had been received , Cancelled the order 2 days after and the order status just kept changing as in "order being checked","Order approved", "waiting to process"," Awaiting stock allocation"," Stock allocated waiting for dispatch",
This went on for a month and still no contact from them , Luckily I paid for the item on a credit card and got in touch with the credit card company , within a week I had a refund on my card , but still no contact from Simply elctronics
As the title says do yourself a favour and don't use them.

My experience of Simply Electronics is very similar to the majority of people on here. You place an order for an item that is in stock, get told it will take 5-10 working days to arrive, you pay, and then you wait......and wait.....and wait. Until weeks later you realise you're not going to get your purchased item. So then you cancel and ask for a refund, and then you wait.....and wait.....and wait.

This company is a total joke and I for one am ecstatic that they seem to have gone under and therefore cannot scam anyone else.

Their frustrating responses to emails and phone calls makes one want to punch something! And their standard replies on this message board, about being sorry for the experience and appreciating the comments and promising to improve in the future........well for one, they have no future, and even if they did, they don't give a damn about their customers and just pay lip service to keep you hanging on in the hope that you'll simply let it go. And unfortunately I don't see much chance of them ever returning our money.

I have had to make a claim under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act in order to start the process of hopefully getting my money back. But it won't be Simply Electronics paying back though. They'll no doubt use our money to set up another sham website and offer a service to extract yet more money from the unsuspecting consumer. And that's what frustrates me more than anything. That they won't be held accountable for being a bunch of lying, low life scumbags.

I can't wait for their generic response to this comment, if they bother that is, which is no doubt generated by a bot.

UPDATE: I have found out this company is owned by Mr Patrick Andrew Benson, British, born Sept 1969, address: 6 Durham Road, London and 9 Upper Crescent, Belfast, BT7 1NT. This is at least the 2nd time he has opened and closed this company. Hopefully someone will be able to use this information successfully. This info was gained from companies house.
I purchased a canon 1300d dslr over a month ago to photograph my new baby and have neither received the goods or refund, just excuses, now their website is closed I have now been informed they have gone into voluntary liquidation. I've been cheated and I feel disappointed and angry, guess I should only deal with reputable high street companies that I know. :(

I purchased a ISAW action camera for £143.95 back in 8th may 2016, the product never turned up and I cancelled the puchase on 7th june 2016 with a refund due within 7 days.
it is now 29th july 2016 and after numerous emails and phone calls and still no refund.
I keep getting told that I am on priority refund but cannot speak to anybody other than the girl on the phone.

Like all of you, I ordered a Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art series (Nikon mount) on 10th June 2016 for 520£ which never arrived. My numerous calls to their customer care were answered rudely. I sent them email which was never replied. I am lucky my bank credited back my money into my account. They have advised that they will challenge this company and if the product is delivered to me within 60 days they will ask me to refund them the money.

I have purchased a HTC One mobile phone, a Sigma 50mm f1.4 Art lens and a canon 17-40 f4 L lens earlier from this website in the past couple years. Based on my previous purchases I assumed that this website is going to be safe so I didn't check on latest reviews, which was a big mistake!

Their lack of response and sudden closure of the website clearly shows these guys were taking payments but making sure they buy more time so that they can collect more money. This is nothing but a pure scam!

The payment gateway SKRILL is sure a gateway of looters! Get in touch with your bank and get your money refunded. Don't forget to file a complaint with the authorities. Good Luck!

They are thieves. They take your money, give polite excuses for delays but do not supply goods or provide refunds. We should take legal action against them. Forget the goods, just give us our money back!

Avoid, ordered iPhone on 2nd June on the 24th it still wasn't dispatched so I cancelled.
It's now 28th July and no sign of refund and the site has stopped taking orders.

I've contacted my building society and hopefully they will open a 'Visa Dispute' against them so I get my money back.

If you ordered from them and are waiting for refund contact your bank asap.

Echoing other comments in the last few days. Ordered a phone on July 11th, and suffice to say received nothing and now have a very bad sicking feeling that I never will. Can't even raise a ticket for a refund, which I doubt they would have honoured anyway by the sound of it. Extremely bad and unacceptable service/conduct, criminal one should say. Considering my next steps...

I made an expensive purchase through this site on the 3rd of July, their item price caught the better judgement of mine and an experienced online shopper. My advice to other consumers is to avoid this site completely.

Currently, their phone lines and website is down with a message to say that they are experiencing technical difficulties simplyelectronics(dot)net/outofservice.php

I'm £600 out of pocket, no item and can't even get a refund. Have reported them to trading standards as well and for those in the same situation also report this as fraud to the police actionfraud.police.uk

UPDATE 02/08/2016:
This company has gone into liquidation, the main address suggest its based in Hong Kong. If you are reporting it to fraud enter the email, website, name of company and the following address: Simply Electonics Limited - Room 1501, Millennium City 5, 418 Kwun Tong Road, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong

Struggled to pay initially but received invoice and paid OK via Paypal. Item took 22 days to arrive which is really too long. There was tax to pay, which was part of the problem - no reference to the prospect of having to pay tax (which they say will be refunded). Took 6 days to arrive after tax was paid. Email replies were always received the following day. The goods appear to be fine but I think a delivery time of over 3 weeks was too long.

I am not sure what is going on with this company but I echo previous comments. I have been waiting 22 days for delivery of goods which were promised within 10 days and all I ever get is excuses and thanks for my patience with very vague promises of a delivery date. I tried calling one more time today but note they have closed their website with the following message "Thank you for visiting Simplyelectronics. We regret to inform you that we are unable to accept orders at this time". A really bad experience - in fact the worst ever with online shopping.

Had a gut feeling after a week of not receiving no correspondence regarding order of beats pill plus that I had been scammed I have contacted PayPal today and I'm also going to contact police for fraud as they have my money I have no goods they sounded very convincing when I called them saying they had a back log due to a promotion they had on

Placed my order at the end of June for a Sumsung galaxy s6 edge plus paid immediately via Debit card , which i have regretted deeply as untill now neither have i received the phone nor have my money back .WHEN i ordered my phone it was clearly written -to be delivered within 2 to10 working days . However, i waited for more than 20 days,made numerous contacts and was still told to wait. By no choice but to cancel my order afer a month long wait,Until now i have not got a penny back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Ever time i call the only thing they would say "pls wait we will get it sorted for you by next week" . i have heared enough , this is the worst online company that i have ever seen. shame on you!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered a computer costing £656 from simply electronics on 12/06/16. They took the money on that day.
By 22nd June I emailed them and said I was concerned I had not received my computer. They assured me it would be with me in 4 - 10 working days.
After a few more emails and no computer I asked for my money back. (5th July)
Again after a few more emails they promised that my refund was being sorted, but it never came
On 15th July I reported them to Barclaycard, (which fortunately I had used for the payment)
Barclaycard finally got my money back for me on 24th July.
It was a very worrying time and I don't know if the computer would ever have arrived, but somehow I think not!!!
