What an incredible experience! From start to finish, the food and service were absolutely excellent—every detail was spot on. A huge thank you to everyone at Potters for helping us create such special memories.

We spent an amazing weekend with friends celebrating birthdays and our wedding anniversary, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. There were so many laughs, a few happy tears, and nonstop fun throughout.

Great value. 99.9% fully inclusive. Food to die for and fabulous entertainment. Nothing too much trouble for any of the staff.

We have been going to Potters for over 30 years and we have never been disappointed. From the accommodation to the food and entertainment everything is top notch. There is so much to do and they are constantly adding new activities to the itinerary. Every member of staff has a smile for you and the hilarious entertainment team are like old friends. We need a couple of Potters fixes every year to recharge our batteries. Why would we go anywhere else. It's simply the best!!

Went last year with a friend and had a fantastic time, so this year went in a larger group and I have to say things were even better… I’m so looking forward to my return for New Year’s Eve weekend break.

This was our probably 7th stay at 5lakes brought my dad for the 1st time he really liked it and he's hard to please staff great as usual accommodation fantastic had an upgrade without being so good holiday all round

Absolutely amazing time at Potters . I cannot recommend them enough . Staff are the absolute best so friendly and will go out of their way to help you . My children say this was their best holiday ever.

Don’t expect a 5 star Hotel experience, in comparison this is a 3‑star experience — no more. Nothing was bad, but everything was just very average. We visited in 2019 when it genuinely felt 5‑star across service, food, and entertainment.
Today, Potters seems to be trading on its old reputation, and rising food costs etc have clearly affected quality.
Go in expecting a 3‑star break, not a 5‑star Hotel one, and you won’t be disappointed.

We’ve just come back from Potters Resort Hopton and although we’ve had great stays here in the past, this visit didn’t quite live up to the 5‑star standard we experienced in 2019. Restaurant service was noticeably slower, and small things added up — for example, gravy was spilt on our paper tablecloth on day two and was still there for the rest of our stay. The buffet also struggled to keep up at times; we waited for chips to be replenished, and by the time they arrived the chicken on our plates had gone cold.

The outdoor experience wasn’t as smooth as it used to be. There’s no longer a bar in the garden (unless you want just Prosecco or Pimms) which meant ordering inside, finding an indoor table number, waiting around 10 minutes for drinks, and then carrying them outside — a bit of a faff for what used to be a simple part of the stay.

Entertainment for teenagers was limited, especially in the evenings. There’s a kids’ disco for younger ones, but nothing aimed at teens, which was disappointing and left them with very little to do.

The evening shows were still enjoyable, but one thing we really noticed was the change from having a live band to everything being performed to a backing track. The live band used to give the shows a real energy and atmosphere, and without it the performances just didn’t feel as special as they once did.

The new BBQ and ice‑cream parlour is a great idea in theory, but the queues were extremely long — around 45 minutes for a burger and 30 minutes for an ice cream. With a bit more organisation this could be brilliant; perhaps asking guests at breakfast whether they plan to dine in or out and giving timed windows for BBQ slots would help manage the flow.

Overall, Potters still has lovely staff and a great atmosphere, but the quality and organisation have definitely slipped.

Comparing photos from 2019 to now, the food presentation and standard just aren’t the same, which is such a shame because we know how good Potters can be. We hope they take this feedback on board, because with a few improvements they could easily get back to the exceptional experience we once had.

We have had several breaks at bPotters Resorts l Hloptpn on Sea in Norfolk and Potters 5 Lakes Resort in the Essex countryside . Every visit is better than the.last . Both Resorts are 5 star All-Inclusive

All drinks included bears wined snon alcohol tea coffee water no limiys (odd exception like premium drinks). 1st class entertainment Wedt End quality shows . More activities than you can fit on any one break . All inclusive . Really genuin caring attentive staff in every department . Hopton Resort caters for family breaks during the school holidays . 5 Lake Resort is Adult only all year round . I wish we were able to visit more often . Please don't take my word give them a call and check them out for yourself

This was our fifth visit, and we felt it was finally time to leave the review you so thoroughly deserve. Your vision has created something truly special in the UK—a place where guests can relax, be entertained, and feel genuinely valued from the moment they arrive. Every member of the hospitality team, including the waiting staff, bar staff, housekeeping, and all the other behind-the-scenes teams, welcomes guests with a warm smile, and nothing is ever too much trouble. The entertainment team also deserves immense credit for providing a fantastic variety of activities throughout the day, flowing seamlessly into spectacular evening shows that make every day memorable.

The accommodation was comfortable, the food was exceptional, and every aspect of our stay once again exceeded expectations. A special mention must go to our wonderful waitress, Lola, affectionately known as "Lollipop," along with Lewis. Their attentiveness, kindness, and professionalism made every dining experience a pleasure, and they went above and beyond to ensure our holiday was truly special. Potters Resorts Five Lakes continues to set the benchmark for British hospitality, and after five fantastic visits, we can confidently say we'll definitely be returning for many more. Well done to everyone involved in making every stay such a memorable experience.

We have been on the coach to Potters Five Lakes for 1 hour and 10 minutes and we are further away than we started. Stopping all over the place. I thought we were on our way but another stop. 1 hour and 27 minutes and finally we are on our way. Very disappointing We have spent as long picking up as it takes to get to Potters.

Great venue, Great staff nothing is to much trouble for them,great food lovely room with view of golf course. Hotel spotless and surrounding area well kept. Have been to Hopton many times and twice to Five Lakes. Have recommended friends to go.Good value for monet.

It was our 1st Potters experience, to Celebrate my Birthday and Father’s day. Every where was clean, staff were helpful, friendly, & welcoming. Food was varied, delicious and well presented, served by our friendly helpful and patient waitress Rebekah👍The grounds were, immaculate, hedges neatly trimmed, no litter lying around, including wildlife areas. Lots to do, the evening shows were spectacular, polished performances, some dazzling costumes, the performers obviously enjoyed giving guests a great experience. We now wish we’d booked a 4 night stay…Next time 😉Well done all at Potters Five Lakes 👏

What an amazing holiday we had at 5 Lakes!
Every single aspect was absolutely amazing.
We are definitely hooked and can’t wait to return……we have booked already. Our room 707 was excellent, quite a walk from the main hotel but so nice, very roomy, comfortable , spotlessly clean, as was everywhere on the site, inside and out.
Super staff in all departments ,friendly and happy in their work.
There’s so much to do, we didn’t get to explore half of the things on offer. Great golf courses, buggy’s available to hire. We thoroughly enjoyed the swimming pool, again, really clean.
Roll on our next of many visits!

Bit of a punt on Potters had seen the bowls on TV and then people started saying how brilliant it is.

After a very difficult 5.5hr journey with the M11 closed on a Friday we arrived frazzled. The staff were great and we went and got a much needed drink. The whole weekend not having to budget, drive or book things to do was brilliant. Food was gourmet quality and so much choice. The entertainment was brilliant. Could bang on for ages but I’d say just go and you’ll not regret it. We loved it so much we’ve become part of the friends program to get better value. Best break we’ve had for years.
