I have been charged for an extra day which is impossible as I wasn’t even in the state.. they have not yet returned my bond after 10 phone calls requesting my return of bond, car was immaculate fuel tank full perfect condition returned, I booked from Nov to Nov 18th I made NO modifications and prepaid.. it’s when I still had not received my bond back by week 2 I found out when I rang they said I returned it on November 19 th that is why they kept the bond.. When I made no modifications this to me is a scam and I will make sure I get my money back.. judging from other reviews this tactic seems to happen quite regularly

Two months after our rental, we still haven't got our deposit back despite leaving the car spotless. Some time ago, we received a mail that we got a traffic fine, but it is impossible to pay online via the methods listed, as the links don't work. We contacted Avis Budget Group but to this day we still have got no answer to our e-mail – nor our money back.

I strongly advise against renting cars from Avis Budget Group, based on my recent experience. I rented a car from their Vienna International Airport location on July 25th, 2024, and now, a month later, I'm being charged for a traffic offense I did not commit. Despite my requests for evidence or records, they have none to provide. This has left a sour taste, and I will not be renting from them again

Havde bestilt, fået bekræftet og betalt en lejebil i 12 dage til afhentning fredag sidst på aftenen i Raleigh lufthavn North Carolina, USA.
Fik beskeden at der var sket nogle fejl og at de desværre ikke havde flere biler tilbage og at der ikke var noget de kunne gøre. Der stod man så, kl 23:30, uden bil og træt efter en lang rejse. Nu manglede vi bare en tur på 130 km til Denton hvor vi skulle bo.
Vi var så heldige at vi kunne vække vores venner i Denton NC og bede dem stå op og køre 130 km for at hente os i lufthavnen.
Venter stadig på afklaring.

Lors du retour du véhicule, nous avons reçu un avis de facturation pour une prétendue rayure. Nous sommes retournés immédiatement chez le locateur pour constater, avec un technicien AVIS que :
1- sur le rapport de fin de location, il n'y avait pas d'indication concernant une rayure
2- après une nouvelle inspection, la voiture n'était pas rayée.

Le gestionnaire de la succursale de Lyon Part Dieu nous a assuré que la situation serait résolue sous peu et que nous n'avions pas à nous en faire.

Trois semaines après cela :
- environ 300 Euros ont été prélevés de ma carte de crédit et
- je n'ai aucune réponse de la part d'AVIS.

Habe für 1 Woche einen Fiat 500 angemietet und soll
Nun für 2 wochen über 500 Euro bezahlen.
Das wird immer dreister, Dümmer und chaotischer.

Muss leider allen anderen zustimmen. Zweimal hintereinander Beschädigungen an Mietautos ohne jegliche Beweise vorgeworfen (wir hatten keinerlei Unfälle) und dann noch die Kreditkarte mit unerklärlichen und noch höheren Summen ohne Beleg belastet. Kundenservice nicht vorhanden. Scheint einfach ihr Business Model zu sein. 🤮

Die Mitarbeiter vor Ort waren nett und zuvorkommend. Der zentrale Kundendienst und Co sind jedoch eine Katastrophe. Ich versuche seit Wochen eine fehlerhafte Rechnungen zu klären, bekomme aber statt Anrufen oder Rückmeldungen nur Mahnungen und Inkassoandrohungen. Telefonisch hängt man ewig in der Warteschleife bis man genervt aufgibt.

Leider muss man 1 Stern geben um eine Bewertung abzugeben.

Bloß nicht bei diesem Anbieter mieten!
Auto 1 Woche früher zurück gegeben (nach absprache), es sollte die Differenz erstattet werden... dies ist nicht geschehen im Gegenteil...Sie buchen noch mal 477,36€ ab aufgrund erhöhter Bearbeitungsleistung.. zum glück ist man Rechtsschustzversichert... das ist einfach nur lächerlich...

My 2nd review EVER on this site - IF YOU RENT FROM BUDGET/AVIS - YOU WILL FOREVER REGRET YOUR DECISION - that's all I am going to write and PRAY you just listen to me!

HINT: BUDGET/AVIS DECIDED TO TURN AWAY A DISABLED VETERAN WITH ONE LEG - and that was just the BEGINNING! Denying service to our wounded veterans WITH A VALID RESERVATION - is CRIMINAL!

BOYCOTT AVIS/BUDGET - THEY DON'T VALUE OUR VETERAN'S!!!

Stay the hell away from this company, I wish I had looked them up before booking. Just got back from Gibraltar airport to an email saying we owe them £600 for damages. We KNOW we didn't damage the car at all, it was in perfect condition when we returned it. Stay the hell away from them.

Wir haben anfangs Juli 2024 in Palma einen Mietwagen am Flughafen gebucht. Bei Übergabe wollte man 52 Euro pro Tag für Versicherung. Der Mini war innen und aussen total schmutzig.Die Leute sehr unfreundlich.
Werden nie wieder dort buchen! Geht zu einem lokalen Vermieter vor Ort,es gibt genügend!

Ich habe ende April einen Mitwagen bei Avis in Barcelona Flughafen gemietet.
Und den Mitwagen bei der Abholung Fotos von allen schäden gemacht. Nach ca einenhalb Monaten wurde mir dann 285 Euro von meiner Visa abgebucht ohne Rechnung erst nach mermaligen versuch den kundenservice zu kontaktieren wurde mir dan ein schaden am Fahreug angekreidet den ich nicht verusacht habe und durch Fotos beweisen kann und sie an Avis weitergegeben. Bis heute keine über 2Monate keine Rückerstattung erhalten.
Jetzt über Anwalt eine klage eingereicht.
Ich warne alle buchen sie nich bei Avis oder Budget sie werden hier Abgezockt.
Für mich ist Avis Budget als Autovermieter Gestorben ich werde nie mehr wieder bei Avis und deren Tochter Fimen mieten.

I recently had an incredibly frustrating and stressful experience with Budget Car Hire, and I feel obligated to warn others about their appalling service. Here's a detailed account of my ordeal:

Booking and Payment:
I booked a car with Budget Car Hire and paid nearly £400 in advance, expecting a smooth experience.

Pickup Disaster:
When I arrived at Budapest airport to pick up the car, the employees at the desk informed me that my booking had been automatically cancelled due to my flight being late. Despite my prepayment and confirmed reservation, I was left with no car. To make matters worse, there were no other cars available because it was the same week as the Hungary Formula One.

Stranded and Ruined Holiday:
This left me completely stranded at Budapest airport. I needed the car to visit family in Debrecen, and being without a car ruined our holiday. The lack of assistance and empathy from Budget’s staff was shocking.

Refund Nightmare:
A week later, I have been trying to arrange a refund, but Budget is now telling me that my reservation was never cancelled. This conflicting information has made the situation even more confusing and stressful.

Conclusion:
This experience has been the worst I've ever had with any car hire company. Budget Car Hire’s poor communication, lack of customer care, and unprofessional handling of the situation have been unacceptable. I strongly advise anyone considering renting a car from Budget to think twice and look elsewhere. Their service is unreliable and their customer support is abysmal. Avoid Budget Car Hire at all costs to prevent a ruined holiday and unnecessary stress.

Note, this happened at the rental agency in Barcelona airport.

It took us more than an hour to get the car, and there were only about 4 people ahead of us, some guys were kind enough to let us pass ahead given that we were in a rush. It took this long even though everyone did their-online pre-checkin.
When we returned the car instead, the staff basically took the keys and rudely shooed me away, even when I insisted to do the car check with them and that I should sign. The staff people, given that there was no one else around, could have easily just done the check with me, instead they turned their back to me, pretended that I wasn't there and just said "if you filled the tank then it's fine lady, we'll just take the keys". Of course an hour later, when I was at the gate in the airport, I receive an email that they are charging me 400 euro for damages (a.k.a. a scratch) + out-of-usage costs ( i.e. the car needs to sit at the shop 1 day to be repaired so it loses them money).
To top it all off, at the counter when we got the car we switched the first driver to me, the agency took my credit card and then proceeded to charge the second drivers credit card, which they had on file from the booking - EVEN THOUGH THEY TOOK MY CARD AT CHECK-IN AND EVEN CHARGED ME THE DEPOSIT FEE. So now, all the documents have one name on it, and they charged the damages to a credit card with a different name. To this day they have not rectified the error. Without this correction I cannot claim insurance from my provider.

Please, if you must rent from them, do not trust these people as far as you can throw them. Otherwise, just go with another rental agency.

WOULD GIVE 0 IF POSSIBLE! Used Avis Budget to hire car for holiday in North of France. Their line took so much more time than the 4 other car hire providers in the building due to them constantly taking between themselves. When we finally got the car there was a roughly 10-12” crack in the passenger side windscreen which they called a small scratch! Then when we informed this wasn’t drivable they asked for contract and changed words to big scratch and made out we were overreacting to this. I wouldn’t put myself at risk or my 10 year old and we requested another car which we got but they made sure we knew how much we were putting them out and they thought we were in the wrong. Mocking us between themselves to our faces. Awful services please don’t use! Still have a photo of the crack but shame I can’t upload to show.

I worked for Avis in Belgrade,MT they use the cheapest tires they can buy,they don't do mantanence, when the car says so, they over charge for everything you buy, and the cars are junk.
