Fine until something goes wrong.

While my car (Vitara) was still within its warranty period, it started making a whistling noise. I reported it to the local branch, who didn’t investigate it, since it was intermittent. It turned out to be the turbo, which subsequently failed completely before the car had reached 50k miles. They won’t cover it under the warranty and won’t make a goodwill contribution because the car is too old (but it wasn’t when I first raised the matter, and still wasn’t when they wrongly diagnosed it as a failed sensor) and had another owner prior to me. That owner was Suzuki; it had been a manager’s car. The car has been reliable until now, but my experience of the how the company deal with customers when things go wrong has not been good, and their warranty is already weak next to those offered by other companies. I actually have been told by a solicitor that I have a strong case under the Sale of Goods Act, since the part failed unreasonably early in the life of the vehicle, but I am autistic and can’t deal with the stress that would undoubtedly cause. So, I’ll just avoid buying Suzukis in the future. They’re fine until something goes wrong; then they are dreadful. I want to post this here so that others know what to expect.

Getting Information Beyond Dealerships - Hard Work !

My wife purchased our 5th Suzuki car, a 3 years old, 2018 Suzuki Ignis, "Adventure," from Chapelhouse Dealers in Warrington, Cheshire. Initially, the car was not presented as it should have been ie: some paintwork, valeting, etc, not quite up to standard, but eventually resolved. Being of "that" age, we decided, rather than settle for the emergency "Compressor & Sealant" tyre repair kit that came as standard, we decided we would favour a "Space Saver" wheel & tyre which we purchased from a local, specialised dealer. We subsequently discovered, as the spare wheel sat slightly lower than the level of the boot floor, this created a "dip" in the carpet and certainly needed something a little more supportive to cover the entire area of the boot. Main dealers, (including our own), were lost completely. They appeared to suspect something might be available, but didn't know what - not much help there ! So after much "Googling" we found some thing on Ebay, from Suzuki themselves, a "Luggage Tray." The picture looked great, it was explained, having decided to phone Suzuki direct, that it was the right product and the descriptive word, "luggage" must logically mean what it said, to support the weight of suitcases. What arrived was a thin, expanded Polystyrene, boot liner, that was thinner than the carpet that came with the car - great if you want to roll it up. 5 Suzuki cars later, over 20 years and we're still trying to glean information from Suzuki when dealerships, despite willingness, didn't have the answers. Suzuki at Milton Keynes, really don't want to speak to members of the public directly, but prefer dealerships own the problem. And there the problem lies, because often dealerships don't have all the answers as proven with our own scenario. Suzuki make and market great cars, but they need to make themselves more available and more accessible to the public and equally make parts/technical etc etc more accessible to dealerships.

Terrible customer service.

Terrible customer service.
In fact wholly dismal.
So I buy a used Suzuki Vitara from a proper Suzuki dealership, I spend £10,495 plus warranty extensions.
Beautiful car, but I find out it's missing some of the spec that in the advert it should come with, so I've been mislead.
I contact the dealership, they don't care, I go to Suzuki UK hoping for a better response, they say it's the dealership's responsibilty. Round the houses and telling me to forget it.
Is that how a big company do business, yep it is how Suzuki do business, once imported as they all are, then they hold NO further care, do consider that, they do not want to know.
Great, so after sales care is totally useless.
If you are looking to buy one, I would think again, once you've paid your money it's bye bye. Sorry to say, but in this day and age that's not cool at all.

Almost 2 months ago and after 10 years…

Almost 2 months ago and after 10 years as a Volvo car owner, I decided to call Romford Suzuki just to gather some info about a Suzuki Vitara 2018. So everyone can understand that I’m not easy to be convinced kind of guy and that my valuation comes from a professional standpoint I need to tell you first that I used to be a sales manager for a big car dealership and I use to be in charge of 3 showrooms and 50 employees.
So... Dan Knowles, the senior sales executive from Romford Suzuki answered my call. Within 5 minutes I’ve paid my deposit for my Vitara without even seeing the car! (It was a click and collect due to COVID restrictions) This much of credibility Dan inspired to me!
It’s extremely rare to find this kind of honest and straightforward people in car sales! Not to mention that the after sale help from him was even more appreciated! I used to email him late evening with the hope that he’ll get back to me first thing in the morning, but I was very pleasantly surprised to receive his reply just minutes after I sent my email! This guy is not only a professional and a very good person, he also loves what he’s doing! I would have been proud to have a guy like him in my former team! I really hope that Romford Suzuki and Suzuki family really appreciate Dan, because he’s an exceptional asset for their business!
Regarding the car I can’t say very much as I’m very happy about it, just as Dan promised! Thanks for all your help Dan, see you next time mate!

There's no getting away from it our Swift feels tinny ...

Well we've had our Swift for five years now. It's okay overall and gives very good mileage. But part of the reason for that is the vehicle's light weight and there's no getting away from it the car feels tinny and insubstantial. Before this, we had a VW Polo and that had a brick-like build quality to it. Having said that the Swift's got numerous airbags and easily beats our old Polo on specification and price. Another good point is the sit-upright driving position. When we were buying the car and went for a test drive I could immediately judge the dimensions of the vehicle and didn't feel like I was wallowing in it as I did with the KIA we also test drove. Remarkable really, as I had never sat in a Swift before but because of the driving position and excellent visibility felt confident as if I'd been driving the thing for ever.

So would we buy another Suzuki. Probably not - as on balance I prefer something that feels a bit more rugged. But it's not all bad hence the mixed star rating ....

Great

Great, my first Suzuki Ignis and if she carries on like this won’t be my last. Only had her a month but have that oneness feel with everything about her, even not having ignition key feels ok now.

Aston at Dales, Summercourt was lovely, helpful and kept me up to date when car would be due. As I had chosen new colour there was a long delay in it arriving into country. Worth the wait love it.
10/10 for customer service and follow up service.

Seeing one other review, mine is a motorbility car Ford extended the insurance and I handed that car in at Dales on receipt of Ignis. Your son should have been treated the same courtesy.

Great Vehicles

Before I retired we had a Suzuki car as a second vehicle - this was replaced two years later by another - two years later another and so on until it became our main car when I retired - we are now on our ninth!
We have regularly toured France, Italy, Switzerland without any problem
The majority of our vehicles have been supplied and serviced annually or as required by TJ Vickers, our Shrewsbury main dealer and we would recommend
them

Ordered a motability car from them and was told delivery would be for October 20th, car never showed up, it missed the truck.
Fair enough sometimes it happens.

Was assured that I had priority delivery for 2nd November. Car never showed up again. Was told hopefully the next day but no. 3 TIMES LET DOWN.

Went into showroom to find out what the hell is going on as I had to give back the car i currently had so no car now whatsoever and they said they can confirm its on truck now waiting to be driven up tomorrow ( this car is only an hour away from the show room ) had a call at 5;30 to say it had arrived! Yay! Could get it for Friday 6th November.

Then had a call Thursday evening before to say there is a recall on a part for the car, part has been ordered and will hopefully be delivered on morning of pick up and put into car ready for me to collect or a couple of days later.

Had a call again to tell me that part did not arrive and there is a back log of the part of 4 to 14 days!
If this was the case why was it not flagged up when they ordered it yesterday!
This is a motability car and used for my son, my son has already missed two days of uni due to the handling of delivery- he cant miss 14 days
!
I have had nothing but the run around on this car one problem to another and no resolution given to me despite the fact that they know i have no car and its a mobility one.

Shocking service, no solution or help . I have lost all faith in them and the car.

Cropley suzuki

I visited cropleys at Boston and was met by Harley and shown round the cars. He explained everything very clearly and sorted a test drive efficiently despite being busy with other customers. The following day I travelled to Lincoln to look at vehicles I was then stuck between a Nissan or the Suzuki and because of the amazing service I’d received from Harley at Boston I returned and purchased the car. He made everything so easy and the handover which my dad sat in on who buys a lot of cars said it was one of the best as Harley really took the time to show me everything and how it worked so I drove off the forecourt confident in myself and my new vehicle. Great job thanks

Sweet papers

Two weeks ago I visited Crewe suzuiki dealer to look at a vitara . Saw one I liked so was keen to look at it more. This was a Monday morning and there were lots of staff about but not one was available to speak to. I waited 15 minutes. Just about to walk away when one did appear. he showed me the car and opened it . Inside were some empty chocolate papers. I commented on this but the salesman said well we can't clean with covid you know. Not impressed as I had been to other dealers and cars were clean . Not impressed .

Browning Suzuki Melton Mowbray. FANTASTIC

Justin Masters at Browning suzuki Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire has helped us recently to replace my mother's old car with a lovely 2nd hand suzuki swift. From the minute we made initial enquiries at Melton Mowbray Suzuki, Justin went above and beyond to get us the right car for my elderly mother even with the restrictions and challenges covid presents.
She has continued to receive exemplary after sales customer service from Justin and his team.
I can not praise and recommend him & this garage enough! Would 100% recommend.

Suzuki resent our Suzuki Jimny's accessories immediately when courier delivered to the wrong address.

We ordered accessories for our Suzuki Jimny but the courier (DHL) delivered to the wrong address (the photo of the front door was definitely not our home!). We contacted Suzuki and they immediately resent what we ordered and it arrived the next day. That's excellent customer service!

We didn't regret purchasing this car one bit, it has a good company behind!

Great service even though I didn't purchase a car. (Exeter)

Didn't end up buying a car here as decided not for us. However the level of service and attention given was outstanding. Not your usual hard sell but genuinely helpful and pressure free. My mum owns an older suzuki and brings it here to be serviced and receives the same level of service as as it she had a nice new car! If your in the market for a Suzuki them I would highly recommend you give them a try. This review is for Suzuki Exeter.

Great buying experiences !!

My mother and i recently visited the suzuki dealership in Wellingborough as she was wanting to part exchange her vehicle for a Suzuki Swift,Was met by a very smart,polite,friendly and professional sales executive named Gary Foster.Mother was invited for a test drive,which was duly excepted..She was given a very fair px valuation for her car and a deal was done..The whole process was a very pleasant.And i would recommend this dealership on my,and my mothers experiences

Suzuki Swift is practical little car. Being an automatic it's great in traffic and easy to park. It has a spacious interior but this comes at the expense of a small boot. However, you can fold the rear seat forward if you have no passengers there and load your shopping if need be!

had final decision from the motor ombudsma in favor of Suzuki

had final decision from the motor ombudsman today as I thought in favour of Suzuki even although I pointed out Suzuki had not told them the hole truth I have had not one bit of good customer service from Suzuki when a company the size of Suzuki go as far as ( I wont say telling lies ) lets say not telling the full story then there is something wrong in the company I wrote to Mr Suzuki in japan and to the CEO Suzuki UK they don't even reply to a lowly customer so I would advise anyone thinking of purchasing a new vehicle to avoid Suzuki if you are looking for a good vehicle and some after sales service or customer service because these do not exist at Suzuki, I will say this to Suzuki UK I will be writing to Mr Suzuki again and will continue to do so until he does reply
