Sudden extortionate fee!
Over the past few years I've been making small investments in a wide range of companies, usually around £20. Really enjoyed it, hoping to build a future for my family. To be honest I've never really noticed the fee, until today... £5.00! I invested in 3 companies, adding up to around £70, but paid £15 in fees. What gives Seedrs? You're going to alienate small investors like me. Or is that the point?

Massive 10x Fee Hike
I've done a couple of dozen micro investments with a fee of 50p to £1. Went to do another one and the fee is now £5 minimum. A 10 fold increase. It's very high risk anyway but this brings to an end my use of this platform for new investments.

Investing, how easy it is on your platform, also all the information, which I can find about the projects on the platform, yet I don't know, how can I move EUR balance to the GB balance inside the Seedrs (exchange) to invest with EUR balance into the projects where it is only possible to invest with GB pounds. First time not bad.
The hardest part was deciding which, if any, company I wanted to invest in. Having made my decision the rest was easy. Security and thinking time meant I had to wait 24 hours to invest. I hope this doesn't apply every time as I will soon give up.
This was my first deal on this site and it went quite easy except for my bank details. I couldn't pay the way I wanted because I wanted to use a different bank and I couldn't change the set information, I may be unusual but I have more than bank for different things.

It has now been over 3 months and the…
It has now been over 3 months and the investment in "Loom Club" has not even closed. After they have received the investment amount there was no further communication from seedrs. There is no sight of the promised SEIS certificate despite the tax year closing in two weeks.

Unfortunately you didn't provide enough information for us to investigate feedback on the particular issue you faced.
However, we can see that the Loom Club investment round has now closed and that shares have been issued to all investors. Better than that, we can see the club has opened and is now trading.
You are investing in a private business and are being issued real shares. Sometimes the final checks can take longer due to any final legal checks we have to conduct. It's not ideal but we have to make sure things are right. If they are not, we return your investment and charge you zero fees.
In this case, it clearly took longer than we expected and we are sorry for that. I hope the next one goes a little faster for you.

Simple and enjoyable to use
I have been using Seedrs for 10 years. Always straightforward to use and I like the nominee model. I also greatly appreciate the discussion one can have, including with the business itself, before committing to investment.

Risky option
Easy to use the website but seemingly Seedr's due dilligence is poor as many of the companies go bust. It's obviously a risk you take but should there be a problem Seedrs are little to no help.

A few facts to clarify our role in the process:
1) we do not conduct financial due diligence on the businesses that raise on our platform. That is to say, we are not making a statement about their future viability and growth. We do guarantee that all the information presented is fair, not misleading and accurate - sometimes this includes detailed financial information. However, providing this information is different from providing commentary / analysis on it. That is for you the investor to make your own determination.
2) Of all the businesses Seedrs sees, fact: only 1% become live investment opportunities on the Seedrs platform. There is a very high level of vetting that we conduct to ensure these are legitimate investment opportunities.
We are here to help but of course our role isn't to intervene in the running of other businesses and start-ups do fail at a higher than usual rate. So we can understand why you might feel that way.
