PLEASE PLEASE READ any review you can do, before you get scammed. I was scammed. I had just walked out of a medical treatment facility, where I had just received treatment, was feeling not great and got caught. I was just off guard. These items are not quality products. They are poorly made with poor ingredients and are over priced and sold using very aggressive sales techniques. You have no refund option. The stores pop up and shut down again. There are Trading Standards complaints everywhere. If you buy from Amazon you have some sort of refund option, but direct from these stores, you have no option at all. You can get quality products from other stores for 1/10 of the price - £200 for a serum and all that. Its rubbish. Really - PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. A FIRM NO.
Wonderful facial, horrible sales people
I enjoyed a facial as a gift in May 2016 and after an hour of being pampered I came out feeling relaxed and refreshed.
I was then cornered by a "friendly" sales lady with a posh cup of tea who then pounced with lots of creams for my lines...I know I have facial lines but I do not need to be scolded for them and bullied into buying so called helpful products. After some minutes of being bombarded she then presented the price....shocking and very expensive. I then insisted that I leave and even then was followed to the door...horrible experience ..avoid at all costs. You can buy the products on Amazon. When I left I stopped and peeled the stuff off my forehead..It felt like glue.
High pressure but they are honest
I have full admiration for the very structured sales techniques they use. Cosmetics after all are a luxury purchase with perceived value by the user so don't start winging if the end cost is more than you bargained for (it will be). After visiting one of the 3 stores on South Molton Street ... hard to miss given all the sales people out on the pavement...I had a very pleasant and almost hypnotised hour with the staff there. At the end of the treatment I felt that my wife would like the product and the package I bought, while 'discounted' and well above my normal spend but I was happy. On presenting the gift to my wife, I was the politely informed that changin her cosmetic range without discussion was not a good idea. This is where the stress kicked in as all reviews were scathing as to unethical behaviour of the stores and that I would never get my money back for the unopened goods. HOW WRONG WAS I!!! On returning to the store I met Danielle, the store manager. On showing her the unopened products within the 14 day return period along with my receipt she was highly professional and explained in detail how to claim my refund. Steps were:
1. Email the address at the bottom of the receipt (Danielle helped me write this in store.
2. They say you get a reply in 3 days but mine came within 12 hours. It was a simple form that you print out and put your name and address (just like any other return)
3. Take this back to the store with the unopened goods, your receipt and your original credit card
4. The card is processed and full refund arrives back in 2-3 days
So anyone wanting to moan about the cost of the products...get real. They can make you feel great if you like that sort of thing but don't complain just because a sales person was good at their job. Follow this process and you will avoid sleepless nights and worry.
Pressurising hard sales techniques
I'm not debating the product here as I do feel that these are good products. Not at all worth the money, they can't even stick the labels on straight and the packaging just looks cheap despite being well over the £100 mark. What I have a problem with is the awful, pushy and cornering tactics the sales people adopt. You are pulled off the street and covered in cream/serum and before you know it you are paying over the odds for something that you didn't even want. I just can't put my trust in a product that has to use these underhand pressurised selling techniques to gain customers and make sales. When I complained directly to the complaints department, their response was that the staff would not have stopped me walking out. They also stated that reviews of the company online did not reflect their current customer experience which is laughable as the reviews actually pretty much say exactly what it was that I experience and was complaining to them about. The issue with Oro Gold is the whole process that they make you go through to get you into a situation where you feel you can't leave and you are quite literally caught up in the sales patter. I feel I have been totally conned and will never be falling for it again, nor will I ever purchase any of their products again and finally as promised in my direct complaint where they failed to resolve the issues I raised will not be spreading a favourable word about the company. I just send a warning to anyone who is dragged in of the street to turn around and certainly don't hand your card over!!!
Expensive but does the job....
When I first came across the Orogold store on Bond Street I was met by a guy at the door who offered me a free sample. I went home later that day and tried the sample. (it was a facial serum) I was really interested and liked the product so decided to go back to the store the next day to possibly buy a bottle. The orogold store itself is designed remarkably well and it feels very hollywoody, I was taken to the studio upstairs and was treated like a queen. I bought a bottle it wasn't cheap but 3 weeks later (today) I can really see the results. I don't see a reason why I won't be buying more when I finish my bottle.
