Oro Gold scam

Honestly the government should close down this company and let them refund everyone’s money. They are a scam that lie on the conversation that you make on the phone after explaining your concerns. Camilla is a Customer representative and is very rude. I do customer service and this is definitely not how to treat a customer who is upset about a situation. I hope the government sees this post and every other post

Listen Gen-Xers (and Baby Boomer and…

Listen Gen-Xers (and Baby Boomer and Millennials). This is one of the best high-class scams you can find. You are beautiful on your own! OROGOLD is not sitting next to your Dollar General, Wal-Mart, or miscellaneous other home town establishments, They are hitting you on vacation or when you are at work in a city. So, let’s just say this - they are very good sales people. I first encountered OROGOLD when I went to a conference in Las Vegas about 7 “younger” years ago. They pulled me in and showed me the magic they could do to my left eye. I had no money – thank goodness. So, I walked out with a sample. I was always intrigued though. This summer, after 5 days of camping in Yosemite, our hotel was right next to one of their stores in San Francisco. I’m sure I looked terrible and I was chased by a salesgirl. As exhausted as I was, I compiled. She proceeded to do the same thing as Vegas. Of course, I am now 49, so it seemed a bit more relevant. My husband came in and watched her magic. And said, let’s get it. I said no. And she dropped the price from 499 down to 199. I said ok and he left his credit card. I’m ready to go and she started the peel thing on me. I said no. Then she said I can drop the price to 49. I wasn’t listening hard enough; she had very quietly added a 2 to the 49. And that’s what we ended up paying. Not 30 minutes later, we realized that the charge was nonrefundable. They prey on women. Please remember – you are beautiful. You do not want a vision of youth selling you what you think is gold, but is really glue.

Even though this is an English site i…Unethical sales tactics.

Even though this is an English site i do want to write a review for oro gold shop in George street Sydney. I can completely empathise with all of you people who have written here. I spend 1 night in sydney recently to meet up with a friend...and yes I to was accosted by a very pretty young girl. I am 66 years old and certainly astute...and to this day I am so surprised how I actually " bought into" the tactics they used. In my case I paid $900 for a small syringe of what was referred to Botox in a bottle. Why did i do it...not only because of their pressure tactics...they also told me that the Australian Cancer Council was affiliated with them!!!! For me that was a BIGGG deal. They showed me the Cancer Council Logo and...not ever thinking that a company would steep that low...I bought this lie. That evening i wanted to look up some reviews but we experienced an outage until late next day. This is not an unusual event with the telco i have my mobile through. Once home the next day and reconnected to the net...I discovered to my horror what a big mistake I had made. Here in Australia we have the ACCC and when i looked up their guide lines it became clear that making false claims in the manner oro gold did and using the bullying tactics to make a sale is good reason to take a company to ACCC. I first had to negotiate with the company however...which i did. I send 3 emails and received 3 responses. In their last response they offered me $1360 worth of free products. My response? Thank you but no thank you. Not once did they apologise for fraudulantly claiming to be affiliated with CC Au. They refused to give me my money back even though i wanted to happily send back the product. Yet they were willing to send me gifts worth $1360. I guess they now think i will not pursue the matter further but i will. I am just horrified at their tactics. Just complaining on these forums is not going to bring any change i dont think. I will write an update further down the track. Nicole Marie Nieuwland. Au.

These guys are scam artists Louis Daval…

These guys are scam artists Louis Daval in Maui 'sold' me a product ($US3,000) a skin lightening machine - it was only a deposit but the next day he refused to give the deposit back to me. Then he said he would cancel the shipment and I was to ring Orogold consumer line to get my money back. I live in NZ and was on holiday in Maui so I then get Fedex ringing they have a parcel for me - so I sent it back. But the product came from a weird place in Minnesota and no one was available to take the product back. So I have no product and the store won't answer the phone. I have rung the consumer line and taken it to authorities but it is obvious what has happened. What I do not understand is how there is no way to get these scam artists in jail - they are essentially fraudsters

PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS

We have recently visited the Marina Sands Hotel and leisure complex which was a wonderful experience in all regards with one exception.

Whilst walking through the shopping mall we were accosted by a member of staff from the Orogold cosmetics store. I was pulled into the store by a member of their staff to ostensibly try a hand care product, we had not stopped by the shop and would not have been interested in their offerings. There was then over an hour of the most intense, pressurised selling tactics anyone could ever experience. Mirrors were thrust in my face to emphasise the serious ageing of my skin and features (this is not something that had overly bothered me prior to this). The cost of the products were astronomic and the longer I resisted the more intense, if I attempted to move from the stool I was hugged and stood in front of. Eventually I did purchase a ridiculously expensive skin cream package and was told that this came with a ‘free facial’ for myself and my husband booked for the next day.
Stupidly we did go back the next day for the ‘free facials’ and although these were done, rather hurriedly, once again the high pressure sales tactics started agin, this time with a lady who claimed to be a doctor. She completely disregarded the expensive purchases of the previous day and attempted to try and sell me more face creams and the Electra facial device, the starting price was 7000 Singapore dollars, which became, eventually, 1800 dollars including an array of free items.

I pointed out that I had already felt pressurised into the previous days purchases so was not disposed to purchase even more. At this point she indicated that in my current state of general decay I had to be stupid not to make these additional purchases, which by the end of her sales pitch, the Electra device was apparently able to cure all facial and bodily defects and possibly bring about world peace.

At this point we did say we were leaving and would not be purchasing the Electra device or any further products , she then became rather obnoxious and her demeanour was rather less than one might expect from a ‘doctor’. She was clearly very upset that she had not been as successful at conning me as her colleague had been the previous day.

I have subsequently discovered that the wonderfully packaged creams and potions are rather scant in content.

Why would a company trying to promote an alternative to surgery (their pitch) not be prepared to trade on quality and professionalism rather than bully boy tactics.

I have yet to really form an opinion on the quality of results from using the products but as they are clearly not going to last very long probably never will and I will unfortunately continue to decay as before. As an aside we were told the products would last 2 years before needing replacement, very short two year methinks!!

I am normally an extremely rational and measured when making purchase decisions, I run a property company, and I am quite stunned that I fell prey to this high pressured selling tactics and how miserable I have found the experience in retrospect not to mention the hole in my bank account.

Why, given the level of similar complaints online, is something not being done to stop this companies unethical trading tactics and most probably the rip off contents. The shopping malls and high streets where these predators trade should take action as it certainly detracts from the shopping experience, and Marina Sands should take note as this cannot be the type of business a high quality company would wish to promote.

There needs to be as much publicity as possible to make people aware of this company and I intend to post on as many independent review sites as possible

I will also email magazines, cosmetic sites, all malls and shopping centres management companies and owners and the consumer watchdog site.

This is one of the worst purchase experiences I have ever had. Oh how I wish I had Googled them before falling into such an expensive trap. The eye syringe cream is damaging the soft skin under my eyes and making it crepey. I've walked past their shop many times and always evaded the spiel, but one morning I was early and agreed to stop for a moment. BIG MISTAKE. By all means buy what ever you want to buy but for goodness sake read some of the reviews first. You'll be shocked. They're all bad. I really wish I had listened to my first gut reaction about them.

Nasty vile sales people that use tactics such as shouting abuse, spitting and swearing at you from across the street if you have refused to go into their shop, this happened everyday of our vacation in key west and my elderly mother was shocked and intimidated by their behaviour. This is not a legitimate business and their behaviours are proof of that. Stay clear of this brand and it’s cretinous sales people, making large amounts of money for their vile CEO.

I also got taken advantage of

I also got taken advantage of. I have never felt such high pressure to buy something so expensive in all my life. I also felt like I was under some sort of spell.I spent $5000.00!!!!!! Never in my life have I spent this kind of money on products I haven't even researched. I was told I was going to get a free facial, and it was going to take 20 minutes. This man had me in the message room for 2 hours. I have to admit, it was relaxing and felt really nice. He acted like my best friend. The next thing I know he had a bag packed with products for me to take home. When I said I don't have this kind of money,he insisted I didn't need to worry about that part."We will work things out". I ended up getting a credit card,[ that he filled out the application for]. Of course I got approved. the interest rate is so high. I am sick to my stomach. I haven't told my husband about this yet. To make matters worst the dispensers for one of the lotions doesn't work. I called the company and they sent me a new one. Guess what this one is also broken. I don't know what to. I also was told about being 100 percent satisfied. When I called and said I was going to bring everything back I was told "sorry we don't take returns." I can't believe I fell into this trap. The store I was in is at the Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods in Mashantucket Ct. U.S.A.

I fail for the sales pitch for this…

I fail for the sales pitch for this product under a different brand name, in Las Vegas about 10 years ago. Ridiculously high prices!
I recently (Dec 2018) ran into a very upscale mall and saw the Orogold store. Again, not realizing it was the same product purchased over $500 worth of product. I mean we all want beautiful skin right???
Well, got home and realized it was the same globbie product I had purchased before! Not only that but I purchased the cream and they actually gave me the mask.
That tightening eye serum is a scam...flakes off in about 10 minutes.
I wish I could find a way to file a complaint that would end in a lawsuit against that company.
I will just stick with my La Mer...

Beware of their sales tactics!

I was visiting my niece in Barrie, Ontario. I had intentionally arrived several hours before she was done work because I don’t like to drive in the dark. I decided I would go to Georgian Mall and just look around while I waited for her to text me. It all started when I walked by the Oro Gold store. A guy with a hard accent stopped me to offer me a free moisturizing cream sample.  He introduced himself as Sean. He then somehow engaged me – I forget exactly what he said – but I reluctantly followed him into the store. He spoke to me as if he was my friend, which I did not buy into but my defenses were down and I agreed to let him demonstrate an eye serum. He applied it to my left eye and had me wait a minute for it to work. This magic serum was supposed to be for wrinkles...and it worked! The wrinkles under my left eye magically disappeared. Obviously I was intrigued, as I had been struggling with all the changes to my skin in the last few years. He insisted I give him my wrist so he could demonstrate the benefits of another wonder cream. It was an exfoliating peel. He applied a small bit to the inside of my wrist, rubbed it in, wiped it off, then applied another cream to it. He showed me how the cream was absorbed into my skin. He applied that same second cream to the other wrist, and showed me how the cream wasn’t absorbed as it was in the first wrist, which had been exfoliated. He asked me how old I was. He acted surprised and continued to lay on more flattery. He knew exactly what to say to get me to stay. I thought to myself, perhaps I should let him do my entire face so that I would look nice when my niece and I go out to dinner. So, I remained respectful to his non stop talking. He proceeded with applying more products to the left side of my face and when he took the treatment off my face, he gave me a mirror and was carried on about how incredibly better the left side of my face looked than the right! He frequently used the term, “Don’t scream”, to indicate how amazing It looked. It certainly felt nice and the cream did make my skin look more hydrated. But was it scream- worthy? Absolutely not! He asked me if I regularly used skin care products. I told him that I use a product that my sister sells and that it is all natural, so he enthusiastically acclaimed that their products were 100% organic. I told him that I would purchase the eye serum but only if he finished the right side of my face because I didn’t want to walk through the mall with one wrinkled side. He kept agreeing that he would do the other side, all the while showing me more products. Then he finally told me the price of the package he had put on me. That was too much for me and I said, “No, I can’t!” He protested, did I not like the product? I told him that I did like it because at that moment I was impressed, but I couldn’t afford to spend that kind of money. He insisted that he really wanted me to use their product so he would bring down the price and he proceeded to bring down the price. It was still too much and I said no. He insisted that it was 100% guaranteed and that if I didn’t like it I could bring it back. I told him that I don’t live in Barrie. He asked me where I was from and I told him London, Ontario. He said perfect, because they have a store at Masonville Mall. Then he quietly said, “I’m not supposed to do this but you seem like a very nice lady and I want you to use our product because I know you will have good results and you will tell all your friends. But please do not tell anyone you got it for this price.” I thought to myself, “Maybe I’ll take it home and think about it. I could always return it.” Those were the thoughts in my head so I agreed and he took my card.

After paying $600 for the 24K Deep Wrinkle Tightening Solution, the 24K Multi-Vitamin Deep Peeling, the 24K Multi-Vitamin Day Moisturizer and 24K Intense Eye Serum, he promised to complete the other side of my face. That is when he introduced me to the store manager, Eli, who whisked me to the back of the store in the facial treatment room, to finish the other side of my face. There he had me sit and he examined my face very closely. He offered me first some water and then suggested champagne since it was my birthday month. I told him water was fine. He then gave me another spiel. I protested that I defintely could not spend any more money that day. He shushed me and started applying treatment to the right side of my face. At this point, I was a little worried because I hadn’t had lunch yet and was starting to feel a bit light-headed. But he had already applied things to my face and told me to let the product work on my face a few minutes as he put on a video for me to watch. He came back with more products and showed me a device that promised to reduce facial fine lines and improving the appearance of the skin, as well as an ultrasound face and body slimming device. He proceeded with using the machine on one side of my face. When he finished one side he handed me the machine and a mirror and told me to try it on the other side of my face, as he again left the room. He returned moments later with more products and promising gadgets. He started adding products to my bag indicating that he was just showing me what I could all get for an additional cost, which amount I can no longer recall. I guess I didn’t look convinced enough so he moved on to adding several free products to my bag for my daughter and some friends. He threw in promises of a bunch of other free stuff, including 2 years worth of free monthly facials for the London store.

I was exhausted after hours of being detained in a back room, and I honestly think their videos contain some type of subliminal messaging, because he eventually wore me down. My heart was thumping and I felt out of control. I really just wanted to get out of there. I had just spent way too much money but I was in a rush to get to my nieces house, and after posing for a picture with them, feeling like I was in shock, I left. Half way through the mall I felt as I had woken up out of a trance and as I am walking through the mall I thought “OMG what have I done”? I wanted to go back but I was running late. My niece had texted me to let me know she had arrived home. I was so ashamed! I went to my niece’s place and tried to put it out of my mind. I went home the next day and immediately tried to get a hold of the company. Eli told me that I couldn’t return the products because they had been opened. And I remembered him opening the packages at the store, indicating that he wanted to make sure that they weren’t damaged. I told him that he had opened the packages and not me! He stated that their store policy clearly states that there were no refunds. I insisted that Sean told me that they were 100% guaranteed and that He had suggested that I could return them if I wasn’t 100% satisfied. He told me to look at my receipt. I examined my receipt. I saw that it said “Final Sale. No Refund. Exchange only within 30 days”. My heart dropped. I burst into tears. He had never mentioned this no return policy to me once! I tried to reason with him but he claimed that there was nothing he could do. That it was store policy. I contacted my credit card company but they too said they could not reverse the charges. I was emotionally drained. How was I ever going to explain this to my husband?

Feeling depressed, I went online and googled Orogold. And the first suggested search was “Orogold scam!” My heart dropped more. I searched for a review and the first one that popped up was, “Beward of Orogold”. And I kept seeing post after post of complaints about Orogold from all around the world: the US, Canada, England, Sweden and the Philippines.

I have to say that I totally understand how people succumb to these sale practices. There is ample evidence that covert hypnotic techniques can and are being used (unethically) to manipulate feelings, thoughts and perceptions—typically without the "subjects" even being aware that they are being manipulated or influenced against their "free will". As I read through all of these posts I keep hearing the same story over and over. These sales people are ruthless. Clearly they are trained to pick up on vulnerabilities. I am so upset that I did not walk away from these people., but instead I allowed myself to be coerced into buying these bogus products, and I take full responsibility for that.

Even if they work well, a company that intimidates customers and lies to them should not be rewarded.  I’m sure there are many very good cosmetics out there.

A reputable company stands by their products and offers refunds because they understand that good customer service is the cornerstone of good business. A dissatisfied customer is bad press and can ruin a business very quickly by vocalizing their unhappiness. I think the company hopes that most of us are too embarrassed to openly admit they were taken in by false claims and that we all chock it up to just a bad luck and move on. I am tempted to let it go, because I am so very ashamed, but I work hard and I resent being taken advantage of in this way.

Avoid at all costs. If you ever see a shop walk straight past and do not be fooled into 'taking a free sample' from the ladies outside. They don't release the sample into your hand but literally stop you to bribe you to come into the store for more free samples.

Sales reps are too aggressive

I did not purchase anything from Orogold, but I am giving them a 1 star because of how pushy the sales reps are. I was lured into the store as the salesman after complimenting my skin offered me a product sample. He did a demonstration on my hand and tried to charm me the whole way. He asked some inappropriate questions like “are you married or happy?”. I couldn’t tell if he was hitting on me or trying to build rapport (or both!). Then he told me each product he used costs $128. When I declined to buy them, as I was not in the market to buy skincare, he told me to wait while he gets me a coupon. When he returned, he placed the coupon on a table against the products, and when I reached out to take the coupon he stopped me. I thought I would take the coupon research the products more and decide later if I wanted to come back and buy them. But the rep would not let me take the coupon. He said the coupon doesn’t leave the store but I could use it now if I buy the products. Again I declined, and he sweet talked me into following him over to the cash register. At the front counter he asked me again why I would not buy their products. He then tells me I can have one full sized product for half price if I buy now.. because and I quote ‘he wanted to do something nice for me’. Again I declined his offer, as even at half price this is an expensive impulse purchase that I was not in the market to buy. Plus I have plenty of skin care products at home. The man would not take ‘no’ for an answer. He continued trying to convince me, and went as far as saying ‘but your face is your calling card’. Excuse me, my face is just fine thank you. I found his comment to be exceptinally rude, especially since his skin was less than stellar. When I was walking by he said I have nice skin, but when I was trying to leave I needed his products to fix my face... uhh no. I ended up having to walk away because he would not stop trying to sell me.

I WAS mildly interested in the product, so I asked for a sample that I could take home with me. But he wouldn’t give me a small product sample of the over priced exfoliator he was trying so hard to sell me. His reason was that ‘you cannot see results after one use’ and ‘if the company gave away samples they would lose money’. Hmmm but after just one test on my hand, you think the result was so spectacular that I should buy this product right now 🤔 . Then I told him I am going to leave and if I decide to buy the half price product I will come back. He tells me ‘but a lot can happen between now and then’. Well yes, that is a gamble I am willing to take. I will not be sucked into that store again.

Truthfully, if the sales rep was not so aggressive and was actually genuinely nice and helpful, there is a potential that I would have returned to purchase a product. E.g. no false compliments, not trying too hard to be my friend, actually giving the customer the coupon he made them wait for, being more considerate of the customers time, not insulting them when they refuse to buy (especially when it is obvious that money is a factor), give product samples when they ask for them (every other beauty store provides samples), provide an informational booklet on the product etc...

RUN AWAY! Liars & Cheats! Will Not Refund!

I purchased $537 of Orogold products in Key West, FL, and Orogold has refused to refund my products, which I will gladly return, and I am issuing this statement.
I believe that the Store salesperson made false claims about the products I purchased and I’m finding several discrepancies when viewing the Orogold website and once speaking with Jackie, the CS product rep. I was misled and actually lied to about their products. Truth in advertising was not upheld. There were discrepancies in terms of service. The products I purchased were not as described.

1) Ingredients:
I made it clear to the sales rep that I have, for years, only used organic skin care products – Michael Todd True Organics lines. She assured me that the products she was selling me were “natural,” “organic” and I was told each product I was sold was “collagen based” … “collagen infused”. Upon returning home from vacation, I researched the products on Orogold’s website for the five products I was sold, and it does NOT say that. When I spoke to Jackie, the CS product rep, she said that no, the products I bought did not contain collagen, but they do have a (more expensive) collagen line, “24K Collagen Collection.” NOTE: when in the store, I was never introduced to this line; the 5 products offered to me were a mix and match from different Organic product lines, some of which are not even on their website anymore, and one Jackie told me she doesn’t think they even carry anymore!

2) Length of use/supply quantity:
I was told, “Every product lasts one year” … “you won’t have to replenish your supply for a full year.” I was also told that the 24K DMAE Deep Wrinkle Tightening Solution, when used ONCE A WEEK, WOULD LAST one YEAR, WITH RESULTS of wrinkles around my eyes being gone for 1-3 YEARS AFTER THAT.
Well, my moisturizer, used as directed, is now GONE! I can’t tell about the remaining products, due to the packaging. If I can’t trust them on other claims made, I doubt I can trust them on eye wrinkles disappearing for 1-3 years after a full year’s use of this one product!

Again, the sales rep told me the 24K DMAE Deep Wrinkle Tightening Solution was a one-year supply. Per Jackie, the CS product rep, over the phone, “Use one to two times per week and on special occasions, and it will last 3-6 months. Quite a discrepancy!

3) “The OROGOLD Guarantee”
“OROGOLD stands behind its skin care products 100%. Our products are sure to make your skin look lovely and make you feel fabulous. Our staff is happy to help you with whatever you may need, whether they are the store staff at OROGOLD locations or our corporate customer service. Please contact us with any questions or comments – we are happy to assist you. So if you have any doubts, questions, clarifications or comments, please get in touch with us. We are always happy to assist you in any way that we can.”
If they stand behind their products 100%, and I was deceived in the products’ ingredients and how long they will last, then I should be able to return the products for a refund according to this “guarantee”!

4) Did I even get true Orogold products?
According to the website, “All products are wrapped individually in golden boxes and when you open them up, you find the products to gracefully lying in beds made out of golden colored satin.” Interesting! Mine weren’t! They are in WHITE cardboard boxes with NO “beds of golden colored satin” – just white cardboard! I’ll be glad to provide photos!
