Really pleased with the work…
Really pleased with the work undertaken. We had a damp proof course installed and the affected (damp) plaster removed and replaced. The two lads that did the work were friendly, efficient and let us know what was going on each day.

Ritchard: professional, efficient, experienced.
Ritchard organised a next day appointment to visit our property. Friendly, efficient and knowledgable - his experience and insight saved us a LOT of time and hassle. He recommended options to solve our problem that fitted our budget and he explained the process and his rationale. 100% recommend and will work with him again if ever needed.

corrupt firm
we used this company due to the story they tell on the phone that’s were the good ends they sent out somebody who claimed to be a surveyor but no proof of this was offered he duly walked around the bungalow ,and came back in to tell us he had bad news the black mold we had on one bedroom wall was caused by the slate damp course failing that’s when i smelt a lie forming our property was built in mid to late 70’s and slate was not widely used after 1920’s rang twice to find out why i had been lied to but nobody decided to respond both saying they need to speak surveyor if you use this firm be very careful before you part with your money this matter is being reported to trading standards

Odpowiedź od The Home Building & Surveying Company
We’re sorry you feel dissatisfied with your experience but feel your review needs further explanation. The suggestion that our company is “corrupt” or that we deliberately misled you is a serious and unfounded allegation.
During our free visit, our surveyor made an initial verbal reference to a slate damp course, which upon review was acknowledged as incorrect. This was a genuine mistake and we contacted you to clarify and correct the point. We have never denied this and do not shy away from admitting when something is wrong.
No work was carried out, no money was taken, and the visit was provided free of charge. We also made it clear that you were under no obligation to proceed with our quotation or take our advice up.
However, following this free quote visit, our office received several aggressive and abusive phone calls. While we fully accept criticism and complaints, we cannot accept abusive behaviour towards our staff. The wellbeing of our team is extremely important to us, and one member of staff had to go home early because you made them so upset, going around in circles shouting regarding this small verbal mistake that has been admitted and corrected, you even called them a liar for asking you to put a complaint in writing as per our complaints procedure. Very unnecessary.
We will gladly have communications with Trading Standards, if needs be, and still wish you all the best in resolving the issues at your property, but please refrain from any further contact with us.
We had a very positive experience with…
We had a very positive experience with Ritchard Tysoe who came to look at our damp issues. He had a thorough look at everything and identified where the issues were coming from. He gave very honest and sound advice and there was no pressure or hard sell. Thank you Ritchard!

Absolutely incredible experience
Absolutely incredible experience. Luke was on top of communication and kept us really well updated throughout the process.
Bad weather delayed work outside, but they kept in touch and updated us so we knew when the team were expected back. Once Frankie and Tim arrived to do the external works they were absolutely incredible. So kind, polite and friendly. They worked tidily and efficiently, even taking the time to show me exactly what they were doing. They went over and above, even fixing a seperate piece of wall that wasn't anything to do with them! So fantastic.
John, who did the internal works, was also a total star. He worked quietly and efficiently, tidying up immaculately after himself. All the waste was bagged up and collected in good time.
I genuinely would not hesitate to recommend this company, the team we had were completely amazing. Thank you!

Hi Victoria,
Thank you so much for such a lovely review. It honestly means a lot.
We know the weather hasn’t made things easy lately, so we really appreciate your patience while the outside work was delayed. Luke always tries to keep everyone in the loop, so he’ll be really pleased to hear that the updates made a difference.
Frankie and Tim will love reading this. They’re a great pair and they genuinely care about doing a tidy job and treating people’s homes with respect. Fixing that extra bit of wall without being asked is just them being them.
And John will be smiling too. He’s one of those people who just quietly gets on with it and leaves everything spotless behind him.
Thanks again for trusting us and for recommending us. It really does mean a lot to the whole team. If you ever need us again, just give us a shout.
Great work and very professional
We had damp work done and were very happy with the service. Mason was excellent — professional, thorough, and clearly someone who really cares about doing a good job. An electrician (not from this company) had previously done a poor job, but Mason made sure everything was sorted and working properly, cleaned up afterwards, and clearly explained what we need to do next.
The office support team are also very fast and responsive, and even paying the bill was quick and easy with a simple click. Very impressed and would recommend.

Good to hear the office team made everything straightforward as well and that the payment process was nice and simple.
Thanks again for the recommendation, it genuinely means a lot to us.
Damp
From the first conversation of booking a damp survey to be done, to the work being done, everyone has been really helpful, informative & easy to talk to.
Emails are replied to promptly with any questions answered & dealt with, Stewart who came to do the quote, was helpful, informative & easy to talk too, the guys doing the work were great, answered any questions & tidied up after themselves.
I would recommend this company to friends & family
