Avoid

Avoid. Ordered TV and it was broken when I opened the box. Months later and they still haven’t replaced or refunded or collected the broken tv, and holding on to my money. Customer service is absolutely awful and useless, would never order from them again.

Utter shambles

No emails, no updates, and if you try to contact them you'll be on hold for an hour.
It seems that the best way for the customer to get order updates is via spiritual intervention.

Day 0. Ordered item to an address in Milton Keynes.
Day 1. Item left warehouse, also in Milton Keynes.
Day 3. Somehow it was now in Liverpool??
Called customer service, who tried to blag it and tell me that even though it showed as delivered it was still en route and would be delivered tomorrow.
Day 5. Called customer service again, spoke to someone more helpful who explained it had been returned to sender and was now back in MK warehouse and would be delivered within a couple of days.
Day 9. Called customer service again, spoke to the same person who now said that it takes 5 days to process returns. Meaning it would be with me in (shock) a couple of days.
Day 14. Called customer service again, who told me that they had sent an email to chase it with the warehouse it would probably be with us in a couple of days.
Day 19. Contact them again on chat and get told that they've lost it and will refund me. Thanks for letting me know Costco!

What a complete waste of time. If you actually volunteered some of this information you wouldn't have customers jamming up your phone lines searching for it.

The crazy thing is, we have proof that the item is in the warehouse, it's not lost at all, it's just no longer cost effective to look for it. Very very disappointing outcome after 3 weeks of chasing this!

Terrible experience

Ordered appliances and a month later I still have no appliances. Their tier system for issues is worthless. The delivery freight carrier are unethical. They rescheduled my delivery twice, the last time said they had truck problems (lie) because when called to complain they called the delivery driver and said he would swing back around to deliver at the end of his route. My appliances were on his truck! Then he didn't show and rescheduled for 2 weeks later! I have been on the phone with Costco customer service everyday and no resolution has been offered. I have been a Costco member for over 15 years but seriously thinking about switching to Sams. Costco needs to rethink who they hire for their deliveries.

Costco Online refuses to refund damaged items

My items were ordered in time for Christmas (gifts for teachers and colleagues). 24 hours after arrival I reported that several of the boxes of chocolates were damaged/opened/torn. I spent about 2 hours trying to get through to customer services online and via phone and eventually they agreed they would only replace the items once they had collected the faulty ones. A week has passed now, I have been given no date for collection or replacement and despite my original order 26.11.24 I will have no useable gifts for the teachers next week when school finishes 18.12.24. I escalated my concerns to the Costco complaints department and no refund will be given but similarly no replacement has been sent. I have been offered “a partial refund”. How does this help exactly? The items are damaged and unfit for use and I have paid in full.
This contravenes the Consumer Act. I am disgusted with Costco Online, I have never had such appalling customer service.

Beware using Costco online.

Placed an order 23/11. System said 5-8 business days for delivery. But even after that timeframe, online order status just shows “processing”. Online chat was made by a 10 year old completing a school project and failing it.
Trying to get anyone on the phone is pretty much impossible. Eventually spoke with someone once and they said I’d receive an email - that was 5 days ago. Since then, no email, no item, no callback (despite using their callback service numerous times) no human to speak to, no way to cancel, and no item. But you can bet your life they have my money - with no way to get it refunded unless I speak with my bank.
This is disgraceful. I’ve always found Costco online a little off but that’s that for me; will not be getting any more of my money.
Judging by the reviews here, it appears this is a lot of people’s experiences and it also appears Costco do not give a hoot; why would they?!

I was there last week when cashier was a helper was there she told us clearly that she will not helping us case my wife was wearing hijab that was so racism that why I didn’t get the membership. Thank you customer service you should take care of that problem. Thank you.

Terrible Customer Service

I’ve been a Costco member for 20+ years even before they were even online. I’ve never had a problem with store purchases but twice now I have had things either charged twice or simply not delivered. Chasing a refund is an absolute nightmare. I have been trying to contact customer service about a high value item that has been charged for and not delivered for a week now. I’ve left numerous call back requests and all have gone unanswered. I am not even sure what to do next other than a chargeback in my credit card. I will not bother with online shopping again.

How they justify charging for membership for using online purchases is beyond me. They offer 0 service

Horrendous delivery of new fridge, still waiting for it

We ordered a fridge from Costco online. We prepared the area and ensured the new fridge could fit thru our door. We took the old fridge, which is same size as new one, out the door. The delivery guy refused to bring it thru the door cause he did not think it possible. He refused to leave the fridge with us when we said we would take it inside on our own. He left with our fridge. Now we're being told they will do us a favor and bring it back in five days. They find it acceptable for us to be without a fridge for that long. Our ring videos captured the incident.

Online customer service is improving

Night and day between the warehouse and online. Customer service is just not the same online and so I mainly purchase from in store.

Edit; I have decided to raise my previous rating a little as I have received a much improved customer service from their online customer services over the last 12 months. Fairs fair and my new rating reflects their current standard.

What has also helped is the ability to return online purchases to the store.

Disgusting new muffins

The new muffin recipe is disgusting! Have tried the chocolate and the lemon raspberry. Maybe found half a raspberry spread amongst the box of muffins. Dry like eating sawdust. The chocolate was just as nasty. In the trash they go. 🤮

Purchased online - tried daily for a week to get through & call back service is ineffective

Purchased online as I was unable to get to the warehouse. Up until now I've always had a good experience whilst buying at the warehouse and have recently renewed my trade membership for another year. BUT although I correctly ordered 2 pairs of boots, I was delivered one pair of boots and 1 random pair of very large slippers! The delivery note stated the 2 pairs of boots! Everyday for a week I've been calling the online call centre, I select the call back option and a week later still no call back. I've also tried holding and not selecting call back but give up at 45 mins. I'll never order online again its a nightmare as now I'll have to get to the warehouse as a last resort - inconvenient for me as I'm currently unable to drive. Come on Costco sort your service out! If anyone in the customer care does want to call me my order number is 710895442 - my number is held on my account or you can email me.

Delivery service terrible

In spite of being a Costco member for over 20 years as an in store customer, I have to give them a 1 star rating for their on line service. Ordering a range with Black Friday prices which included delivery, installation and removal of the old range, was easy and straight forward and easy. But delivery has been a nightmare. They canceled two scheduled deliveries because the delivery service does not have a mountain capable vehicle for the foot hills west of Boulder, CO. Agent recommended cancelling the order and getting a refund. Reordered from HomeDepot for a lower price. They deliver to the foothills all the time.

NO CORPORATE ACCOUNTABILITY AND EXPECT CUSTOMER TO RESOLVE THEIR ISSUE!!! Bought a heated throw online

Bought a heated throw online. Costco delivered the wrong one. Costco keeps arranging pickups to return my money ( 5 pick up so far forcing me to stay all day in when my father in law is in the hospice needing visits and this has been explained to them ) and the throw is not picked up. Totally unacceptable as it is their mistake in the first instance - NO CORPORATE ACCOUNTABILITY AND EXPECT CUSTOMER TO RESOLVE THEIR ISSUE!!! ( please take it back to the shop or a post office!!! ) IT WAS THEIR FAULT - AWFUL

Update : following the Customer care manager intervention Headoffice has reviewed the situation and has agreed to stop attempting the pick ups ….finally I can put this issue to bed thank you - Costco

i’m absolutely disgusted at costco…

i’m absolutely disgusted at costco online service. I bought a light fitting that cost £320.
It didn’t arrive after one month of contacting customer service.
To demand my money back as they took money of my account. !!! Apparently the company who sold light said it was delivered.
Quite clearly i would have remembered that.
It didn’t come i was out of pocket for a total of 6 weeks.
In between this time there was phone calls to costco. just basically pushed from pillar to post.
I asked for a return phone call on automated phone line.
twice and nobody got back. I would say average waiting time was at least one hour.
after 2months i’m still waiting on a call from complaints department. nothing!!
im a executive member, which I pay a premium for. I have been offered a £30 voucher of apology. Absolute joke.
They had £320 of my money for a month. the sage goes on. i’m afraid im thinking seriously about online shopping from them now. very disappointing as i like the offers they have. but seriously think they need to train there staff more. I see a lot of poor reviews here. i’m afraid costco you need to up your game

Incompetent online customer service

As a long standing store customer at Costco, I went to them first to buy a mattress, divan and headboard. I completely trusted their customer service and ability to provide what was ordered. Having taken £894 of my money, they informed me that the mattress would be delivered within 3-5 days and there would be a later delivery on the base and headboard.
Nearly 3 weeks later and four phone calls to four different advisors, I am informed that the item is out of stock and no assurances can be given re delivery.
I have asked for a refund but I have had no confirmation that the order has been cancelled as was promised.
The whole experience is stressful and unnecessary.
I totally believe that the company are not set up adequately for online shopping. The staff have a patter but can’t think outside the box. There is no online complaints service in writing, you have to totally depend on a phone and therefore you have no record as a customer.
It’s all so poor, it’s embarrassing and what a shame for Costco.
Such poor management and organisation and mine isn’t an isolated case by the look of the reviews on here. I just wished I checked Trustpilot before I’d parted with my money.
