Didn't receive item. Being made to jump through hoops for a replacement

Ordered a fan costing £89.99 from Costco which was delivered by FedEx and left unattended outside my front door without my authorisation. The parcel was never received.

FedEx confirmed that the parcel had been left outside and advised that any claim must be pursued by Costco as the sender. Despite this, Costco repeatedly asked me to obtain a police crime reference number, even though I have no evidence that a theft took place and can only confirm that I never received the parcel.

I have found the customer service process frustrating and disappointing. I appreciate that investigations are necessary, but I do not feel that the burden of resolving a courier's delivery issue should be placed on the customer.

I hope Costco will now review the matter properly and resolve it fairly.

Usually quite good, this is appalling.

Usually quite good, but this is outrageous. Ordered various goods . Most items delivered except 1. The £500 item. All items shipped the same day. But this item according to dpd has still not been recieved. Call costco to find out why, no one knows. Call back tomorrow. Why dont you call me. Call back.l for the next 5 days. Still nothing. No update. Worst of all, I have had 3 calls from customer service after 8pm sating they are busy and I should call them again the next day?!?!?!? Ive spent 5 hours on the phone, left messages for call backs. No updates, its now 8 days. Can only class this as theft. Time to get a police reference number. Just appalling. Worst customer experience and stollen my money.

Advertised as In Stock, Yet Still Waiting for Part of My Order

I am disappointed to be writing this review as I have generally had positive experiences with Costco in the past.

I ordered two DREO portable air conditioning units which were advertised as being in stock with delivery within two business days. Given the hot weather and the fact that the units were required to assist two individuals with disabilities, the delivery timeframe was an important factor in my purchasing decision.

After placing the order, I was reassured by Costco representatives that delivery would take place within the advertised timeframe and later within a maximum of five business days. I then received an email advising that stock was not expected until 30 June due to supply chain issues.

Following my complaint, one of the two units was eventually delivered. However, the order remains incomplete and I have received no meaningful communication explaining why the second unit has not been delivered or when it will arrive.

After further contact with Costco, a helpful member of staff named Michelle investigated the matter and advised that both units had apparently been assigned the same tracking number, despite only one unit having been dispatched by the supplier. Michelle has chased the supplier for an update, and I appreciate her efforts to assist.

My frustration is not simply the delay itself, but the repeated conflicting information, lack of proactive communication, and the fact that I have had to spend significant time chasing updates on what should have been a straightforward order.

I am still waiting for a resolution regarding the outstanding unit and hope Costco will take steps to resolve the matter urgently and consider an appropriate gesture of goodwill given the circumstances.

⭐ 1 star — DISGRACEFUL treatment of loyal customers.

We have been Costco members for years, spending around £500 every single visit. On 14 June 2026 we came to the Southampton branch, did a massive shop, and then — as Costco themselves encourage — sat down and had lunch at THEIR OWN restaurant. Total time: 3.5 hours.

A few days later, we received a parking FINE through the post.

Apparently Costco quietly introduced a 180-minute time limit TWO MONTHS AGO. No email. No letter. No notification to members. Just a few tiny, barely visible signs hidden around the car park that you'd need a magnifying glass to find.

We went in to sort it out like reasonable people. The customer service staff were dismissive, unhelpful, and frankly RUDE. They point-blank refused to cancel the fine and showed zero empathy or understanding.

Let that sink in: Costco fined us for eating lunch in their own restaurant. They profited from our £500 shop AND our lunch, then had the audacity to penalise us for it.

This is how you treat loyal, long-standing members? Sneaky signage, zero communication, and rude staff when you dare to question it? Absolutely shameful. We are seriously reconsidering our membership. I urge everyone to be aware of this hidden trap before your next visit.

If I could leave zero stars I would. The online ordering service by Costco is utter DIABOLICAL. Ordered a garden hose, you’d think this would be a simple and easy enough order to deliver, right? After looking daily for a shipping update (for well over a week) and being advised daily - ‘nothing could be provided’. I contacted online support today and they also advised - can’t give you an update and basically requested I cancel the order. Utter s8 show is an understatement. Now, after wasting so much time, got to wait for money to be refunded so I can go out and buy the hose from Dobbies or B&Q in person. Save yourself the grief, do not order online and just go to the warehouse in person or another store. Amateur online sales process, amateur.

No goods received - Costco online

Terrible service from Costco online, ordered goods a month ago, DPD lied, didn’t attempt delivery! Returned the goods to the shipping company, not Costco. Costco can’t contact the shipping company. Costco no longer responding to emails… no goods… no refund. The stores are great, but I will never buy online again.

They haven’t declined the Card they said
Costco have declined the payment.

The business card was used in your Sheffield store on Sunday with no problem
Struggling to speak to anyone
Sent email - no answer
We are a business and need this printer urgently.

Rude staff

I recently rejoined Costco and had a good experience of buying online. But the way I was spoken to today by a woman at their Returns/Membership counter today at Reading was unacceptable.

The only indication as to where customers should queue are 2 signs hanging from the roof. There is nothing at eye level and no lanes are marked out. As a result, I was one of several customers who were confused as to where to get service. It seems I approached the 'wrong' assistant and was rebuked, together with a sarcastic comment.

There is no need to treat customers like this and Trustpilot's summary of the many poor reviews of this firm's customer service suggests that poor training of staff is an issue at Costco.

Costco did not use to be like this. A director needs to get a grip of this problem and maybe instigate some staff training and, if necessary, disciplinary action.

New Tyres on The Porsche …

The team were exceptionally careful in fitting tyres on my very expensive rims. Everyone was polite and I will not hesitate to use Costco Watford again for my Porsche.

Have been trying to to return a damaged online purchased order. Customer care as helpful as a piece of of string holding an anchor. Contacted them on three occasions, only to be told a return call would be given?? After a week still waiting for the return call. Contacted again only to be told no record of any communication with them. All this just to get authority to return a damaged unfit for purpose item. PLEASE be aware of the complete failings of so called customer care if you require any kind of satisfaction. This problem is still pending an outcome. Not too confident. Possibly next step Ombudsman.

Costco installed the incorrect AC unit. They admitted the mistake and offered a replacement. However they have stopped responding. It's been 5 weeks since the AC was installed. I am in shock and I will take this separately outside CostCo. I will provide further updates once I have any.

Customer service in store is bad on the phone it's useless

Found the staff in store provide a poor level of service and prefer being on there mobiles rather than talking to customers.

Customer service on the phone is a total joke and an insult, I advise anyone to steer clear of these people until they learn how to respect customers.

Do not believe delivery ETAs.

I’ve ordered several items from their online store due to the sale price being lower than what they offer in warehouse. Whilst this is great, their service online is slow. Certain items will be advertised as “next day delivery” but I’ve found this to never be the case. Again, I have used their online service several times and each time came with its own set of delays. Ok for prices but you pay for it in wait time.

Parked Leeds Costco not aware there was…

Parked Leeds Costco not aware there was a 3hr limit. Fueled up, renewed my membership and walked around with family. On the way out had a hotdog. Today I got a £60 parking ticket. What an expensive hotdog that was Costco, why did I renew that membership?

Seriously awful..in every sense

Seriously awful..in every sense! Bought a 150 pound fan for my granddons birthday online .2 day delivery which meant he would recrive it intime for his birthdat .it came 2nd day and was faulty..tried to do a return online awful wouldnt let me so contacted customer service online who also wouldnt help me but told me domone woukd be in touch ...they never did so done online chat who also were pointless no help.suggested i take it back to store for a refund even thou i dont drive disabled and bought it online tokd hime i didnt want a refund wanted exchange as it a birthday gift but basically yokd me tuff its eithr send it back online or take to store for refund as it my first online order im not allowed a replacemnt only refund??? What a terrible customer service ..most places cnt wsit to replace instead of refund now i have to get it sent back and miss the birthday deadline for my grandson. At 150 pound i cnt affird to jst buy anothr one while wait for the refund if i had kniwn how horrendous.unproffesional incapable this company was i would never have bought from them and wish and will buy from argos once i had my refund howevr costco has ruined a gift for my 13 yr old grandsons birthday and thst is totally unnaceptable.tried ringing the cardifg store to be left on hold for 35 minutes only to be hung up on.total disgrace !
