I bid on a car with no reserv in a live auction
The auction ends and I find the car is was withdrawn at the last minute and will be re auctioned in 2 months time
Car and classic rolled my bid over to the next auction of the car all without contacting me
Someone bidding on a car today is not necessarily going to want to bid on the car in 5 weeks time.

Terrible experience. I selected C&C over Piston Heads because I was pursuaded C&C had a larger customer base. But my car attracted nil bids for 5 days and there was only 1 active bidder in the final few minutes of the auction.
To add insult to injury, C&C then added a £720 fee, which was ruled out by the C&C marketeer, so as to compete on level terms with Piston Heads.
C&C is a disreputable business that promises much, delivers little and imposes shocking fees, which are currently in dispute.
My advice is AVOID C&C - there are much better options to sell a cherished car.

I have used car and classic many times and the purchases have all gone through smoothly, not hidden surprises, which means they have fully vetted the adverts being placed by the seller.

James kept on top of the situation. The handover and payment were totally fine pleasing both parties.

Ho tentato di inserire un annuncio e, una volta compilati tutti i campi richiesti, ho ricevuto un'e-mail in cui mi si chiedeva di stampare un foglio A4 con la descrizione inviata, posizionarlo sulla moto, scattare delle foto e caricarle tramite il link allegato.

Passano diversi giorni, ma non vedo né l'annuncio pubblicato né altre comunicazioni. Scrivo per chiedere informazioni e mi viene risposto che l'annuncio è stato respinto perché non soddisfa i criteri richiesti. Chiedo quindi quali fossero i criteri non rispettati, ma a distanza di 10 giorni non ho ancora ricevuto alcuna risposta.

They put you in touch with like minded people who understand the classic scene and how important it is to see your cherished vehicle find a good home. I would have no hesitation in recommending Car & Classic to buyers or sellers of classic vehicles.

Eventually my car sold for a whisker under the reserve so I'm satisfied with the result. The set up and initial photography went well. However, the subsequent saga of my listing not appearing in any searches due to technical issues with the website did not inspire confidence. I'm sure without these errors it would not have required a re-listing but this is not an experience I would repeat.

I sold my old Mercedes a few months ago here. Everything went fine and I was satisfied. The small thing that I didn't like was the fact that I was usually communicating with one person, and when the sale started there was suddenly some other persons communicating with me, which was a bit confusing.
But generally, good experience.

Great free online service.....Will definitely be using it again...unfortunately there are a lot of time wasters...but that's life!!!... fantastic service..
