Pressure Tactics Don’t Belong in a Mental Health App

If this app claims to help vulnerable people, why put a countdown timer on the purchase page saying, “Special offer expires in 7 minutes”?

People who may already be stressed, anxious, or vulnerable shouldn’t be pressured into making a quick purchasing decision. Even if this is simply a marketing tactic, it feels completely at odds with the purpose of the product.

Of course a company needs to make money, but using urgency tactics on an audience seeking emotional support feels ethically questionable and, frankly, commercially counterproductive. It immediately made me lose trust in the company.

I was considering purchasing the service. The countdown timer convinced me not to.

You're right, and I'm not going to defend it. A countdown timer is a common
conversion tactic, but common isn't the same as appropriate — and on a page
where someone is deciding whether to get help with a drinking or smoking habit,
manufactured urgency is the last thing that belongs. I've taken your review to
the team as the clearest argument I've seen for removing it, and I would rather
lose a sale than win one that way. If you're willing to email me at
support@calmio.ai, I'd like to hear where else the experience felt off to you,
and if you ever do decide to try Calmio I'll make sure you can do it at your own
pace — no timer, no pressure of any kind. Thank you for taking the trouble to
explain why instead of just closing the tab; that's more useful to us than a
five-star review.

I wasnt happy with the app and Teresa helped me cancel the subscription and obtain a refund

Do not subscribe to this

Do not subscribe to this. They will continue to bill you regardless of trying to cancel. Not to mention the fact that is was not helpful. The recommendations are ridiculous, almost laughable and, needless to say, do not work.

I'm sorry — being billed after you'd tried to cancel isn't acceptable, and I'd
like to find out exactly what went wrong. A cancellation should take effect the
moment it's made, so if charges continued afterwards, either the request didn't
register on our side or it was submitted somewhere we never saw it. Please email
support@calmio.ai from the address on your account and I'll look into both the
cancellation and the charges personally. I'm sorry the recommendations missed
the mark too — advice that feels generic is of no use to anyone, and I'll pass
that on to the team directly. I appreciate you flagging both.

They are scammers

They are scammers, not in the USA. After you pay, they bill your account again without your knowledge or permission. The program itself is a lot of reading pages, not of benefit to quit smoking. Total Scam! If you are trying to get out of the additional 55. charge after your initial order and you paid by payal go to Payal /myaccount/autopay /connect. to stop the autopay.

I'm sorry this has left you feeling misled — that's a genuinely bad experience,
and not what we want for anyone trying to quit smoking. To explain plainly:
Calmio is sold as a subscription, so the first payment starts a plan that renews
automatically until it's cancelled, and I fully accept that if that wasn't clear
to you at checkout, the second charge would feel like it came out of nowhere.
You don't need to go through PayPal to stop it — one email to support@calmio.ai
is enough for us to cancel the subscription outright. Please do write to us
there and mention this review, as I'd like to take another look at that charge
on your account personally. I'm sorry the program itself didn't land for you
either; that's fair feedback and I'll pass it to the team working on the content.
