I ordered over €60 of chocolates that were supposed to arrive within 7 days. The order number was BE107901 and I was told you would send tracking information to my email address, which hadn’t happened.
When they didn’t arrive, I contacted your 24/7 customer service who sent a reply saying they might take 2 days to reply.
Still no response and I’m having to go through the fraud process with the bank. Really stressful experience and shows a complete lack of human care. Obviously, I would not recommend, or use you again.

An extremely disappointing and unsatisfactory customer experience.
After using The British Corner Shop for many years with fantastic customer experience, like many others I had to try and find an alternative Company when they ceased trading.
I found British Essentials and after reading some reviews plus reading on their website "Enjoy Hassle Free shopping with Zero hidden Customs & Import" as duties and tariffs included and "Orders are carefully picked and packed", I thought I'd give them a go.
Unfortunately my experience has been anything BUT hassle free!
11 November - I ordered over €200 of goods to try to maximise the 30kg box size.
Obviously this set my expectation that goods would be packaged in one big strong box, like other providers I had used.
Received order confirmation stating all goods in stock & that I would receive notification with delivery trackers when my items were despatched.
17 November - Still nothing, no confirmation of despatch of goods or tracking no's, despite website stating 5-8 days tracked shipping. So I chased whereabouts of my order via email to customer services.
19 November - Receive 4 separate shipping numbers, so goods obviously split up to be delivered in separate smaller packages by Royal Mail (Poste Italiene).
25 Nov received an email stating some goods had been refunded as not in stock?! How is this possible as all in stock at the time of ordering, and even more frustrating to date (4th December) still not received my refund!!
4 December - Received 2 of my parcels at last, after 3 weeks since ordering. The packaging was so inadequate it's hard to imagine British Essentials thought the packaging fit for purpose!! Flimsy, weak, small boxes, no strengthening support or adequate wrap for glass bottles, one thin layer of bubble wrap and a couple of sheets of paper lining the box...no strong polystyrene or adequate bubble wrap for protection. One of the two boxes was so badly damaged, Poste Italiane had rewrapped it in a special plastic wrap with a cautionary note on it, and asked if I wanted to do a non receipt of the package as it was so badly damaged, with broken glass jars and the original box disintegrating caused by the food contents having disgorged themselves into it!! It's a shame I can't upload a photo of my damaged package to show how unfit for purpose the packaging was!!
4 December - still waiting for delivery of my final 2 packages. I have obviously written to British Essentials for a full refund of goods within the destroyed package, plus chasing my previous not yet received refund for non provisioned goods.
I have never EVER had such a bad experience with the British Corner Shop! They used to send my order in one big strong box making sure that it was packed incredibly well.... exactly how it should be done.
This was my first and last time I will use British Essentials.....shipping delays, delayed notification of goods unavailable and refund delays, goods arrived unusable in unfit for purpose packing...totally unsatisfactory customer experience.
Next stop The British Food Store who have been recommended to me, as providing excellent customer service and they are based in and ship from Ireland so no issues with import taxes or duties.

Slow Shipping Speeds
Order something November 17th, took them 1 week to ship it and I still haven't received it. I get international shipping takes time, but it wasn't held up in customs - most of the issue started with the 1 week delay in shipping the order despite getting an email a few hours after the order say everything was in stock.
Update: no one has reached out to me directly - and the item has finally arrived at my local post office - so maybe tomorrow i might see it - I had submitted it should have shipped email on the 21st - after that the item appeared to magically have gotten a tracking number.

Extremely slow in shipping and no communication from them.
I made order with them on Monday 24th just three bags of dog food.
Its Friday 28th and no shipping details nobody us bothered to send email and saying there have been delay etc.
Before I made order I read reviews here on trust pilot and people complaining about slow shipping.
Well I have to say its extremely slow shipping.
Will not be ordering from them any more.
First time last time.
Not efficient at all.

Delivery Times are pretty bad before Christmas
The delivery times are pretty deceptive. It says 5-7 days delivery time on the website, but fails to mention that the order may not be shipped for a long time BEFORE this 5-7 days even starts, for example: I've been waiting a week now and my order hasn't even been sent.
UPDATE: My order was dispatched 01/12 (I placed the order 20/11). The reason given for the delay was due to a Christmas order backlog, so delays like this are not likely to be expected at other times of the year. I still believe that their website could be more transparent on estimates of when orders are dispatched, but will increase my stars slightly.
