You sign your aging and slightly dotty mother up to Your Repair for peace of mind as you live 300 miles away. You try to book her boiler service 4 times. Finally you get a date: 10th October. You assume, because mum doesn't phone to say theirs a problem, and that no-one emailed you, that it's all gone smoothly and that no-one emailed you BECAUSE YOU TRUSTED THEM. Today 22nd Oct, Mum has just called to say she has no heating & no-one turned up on the 10th.
I am updating my review and giving three stars as Customer Service has been in touch. Mums heating is on, but a new part is needed for her boiler. I've had the apology for the original poor service, and Alfie is organising for an engineer to replace the part. Will increase the rating when everything is fully resolved to my satisfaction.

So hard to cancel contract
I’ve never had such a ridiculously complex experience trying to cancel a contract.
I moved house and supplied several pieces of evidence, only to be repeatedly told they were unsatisfactory. The amount of personal information this company required just to establish that I’d moved was completely excessive.
I managed to cancel my internet, water, council tax, energy bills and practically everything else with ease. Yet somehow, cancelling boiler cover became the most difficult part of moving house.
Of course they need to verify a change of address, but there’s a difference between reasonable checks and making the whole process unnecessarily difficult. In my experience, this went well beyond reasonable and is clearly a way to capture more money from you.
An absolute waste of time and a thoroughly frustrating experience.
Avoid at all costs.
