Friendly old fashioned good service. Staff make you feel welcome and are not in a rush so there is time to ask questions if you have any. Very helpful without being pushy. Kind and courteous .

Had problems trying to find answer to requirements. Used chat button and managed to share requirements with Sean who resolved matters in minutes - wish I had known sooner that you had humans on-line at the weekend

Another fab interaction with Kyle on webchat. He sent the information I needed straight away and allowed me to close off my queries in minutes. Great service!

All financial institutions struggle with knowing what the rules are on legacy ISAs and whether going into local branches makes things easier or more difficult. But London local branch good (even though it slowed things down) and Usama, Akash and others really helpful. All financial institutions need to make the rules crystal clear for their colleagues and their clients alike.

First person I was dealing with said she would go and check for me and then cut me off. 2nd person didnt want to help

This evening I have tried to log into my account to transfer money.

To transfer money, it demands that I use my app to create a secure 6 digit code, fine I thought.

I tried to log into the app, but it states I have the older version, and to gain access to the newer version I need to update my personal details online.

Fine I thought, but when I tried to update those details, I can only confirm using a code VIA the app. The app I cannot access as it needs updating.

When I click the 'create code option' without logging in to the app first, it says "not set up on this phone"

This is 2026 and the app is stuck in 2009. If you need an actual app designer rather than a cowboy, I can suggest a company for you.

Easy to contact them, responded directly. Lauren was helpful and answered my question, with no problems.

I opened an ISA at the Bournemouth branch of the Skipton building society today and was very pleasantly surprised at how helpful and professional they are.

It did not take too long, everything was explained and I was given the opportunity to ask any questions which I wanted. After bad experiences with a different building society I left feeling I had made the right decision.

They provided me with lots of information and arranged a further appointment.

Following maturity of one account, Skipton has transferred my savings to an account where it is now locked down for another 6 months. I am unable to withdraw my own money. I am having building work done and need my money back. Don't put money in this building society if you ever need it back at short notice.

I opened a 'chat' on the web page with an off topic question which the agent could not answer immediately and had to search for the answer. She did not disappoint. Very happy with the quick response.

It was easy and quick to phone Skipton and get through to someone who spoke very good English and understood immediately why I had phoned and what was needed by me. The matter was dealt with quickly.

We are new to Skipton but have been hugely impressed by their service when arranging a new mortgage for us.

And you know someone has really thought about it when a perfect welcome box arrives the day after you move into your new home.

I have been struggling and messed up with the new app and logins whilst trying to get my remaining funds out my LISA. I called up today and Theresa was absolutely wonderful. She stayed on the line, we walked through each step together and she is really helpful. Wonderful customer service and support, thank you very much!

Very poor customer service and attitude from Harrogate, North Yorks, Skipton Building Society of which we are existing members
Both of our 2 Skipton B/Society fixed rate bonds were maturing, so we popped into the Harrogate Branch , to inform them we wanted to put the monies on maturity, into their 1 year Premier Members Bond , at a good 4.75% interest.
Can't do that they said ..we can only offer you the equivalent 1 year fixed rate branch bond( maturity ) paying 4.15%
We opted for something else , but asked if we could open the members bond with separate money ...yes, they said but we can't actually do it today , as there are only 2 counter staff in today ( friday 21 Aug and branch was empty of customers)...you can do it on line , by phone, by post or by making a branch appointment, which is at least 2 weeks away.In the end they gave us 2 postal application forms which were infact horrendously complicated. So we went back the following week ie today Monday 24 Aug to seek assistance.
New set of staff and 2 visible ...no we can't help with your postal application or even open it instore , as we only have 2 staff on...if you have an email address you can do it on line.
We said no thank you , we prefer to open accounts in branch and we can see that Leeds Building Society in Harrogate have a similar bond paying 4.5 % and I am sure they will serve their elderly customers far better, than we have experienced on 2 visits to the Skipton.
We went to Leeds B/S and were dealt with in a couple of minutes and 2 new accounts opened with a smile and offer of tea or coffee
What a pleasant difference in attitude to customers... Skipton score 1/10, Leeds B /S 10/10
