I used the webchat and spoke to Jess. I accidently opted out of the Members Draw and wanted to opt back in. She was very lovely and sorted my issue out quickly! Thank you!

My wife and I are eight years old. She has a ISA due for renewal with the Skipton building society. We try to renew it over the phone we were unfortunate to get put through to a proper jobs worth we went through security we were failed because I answered the amount of money in the account instead of my wife as she didn’t have her glasses on. I am now moving my account to the nationwide because of her ignorance and not being helpful to old people

I have been with Skipton for more than 7 years as a mortgage customer. My mortgage deal is due for renewal in November. As a result I logged into the skipton site to look at changing my product. The choice of deal was not great and the interest rate offered was over 1% higher than the Skipton rates on Money Supermarket. I used the chat function to ask why this was, after 20 minutes I get a response that ‘rates change’ no explanation whatsoever. This appears to be an attempt at charging existing customers higher rates on renewal.

I seriously question why I should use this company, if this is their tactic to fleece existing customers. I also won’t bother to use the chat facility again, it is slow, unfit for purpose, and terrible at responding.

I have left bad reviews recently about the appalling new app and being unable to use Skipton Online due to the new security features....

Your technology is and remains appalling Skipton (especially the new app....)

I have just spoken to one of your staff re my mortgage and she was the most helpful person you could hope for!

I joined Skipton in 1999/2000 due to people like her in your Leeds branch who were so welcoming when I walked in off the street to open an account.

So, people first class... technology not....

Excellent UK based customer service team. I left my number and they phoned back within the stated time. Sorted my issue.

Some of the form filling in branch is a little slow but I guess it reflects a committment to the security of accounts. A great interest rate. Good customer service.

Very helpful and able to arrange what we requested. Nice to deal with a human.

Attempted to contact Skipton multiple times on all of the published contact numbers.
Held for over an hour, repeatedly cut off without speaking to anyone.
No options to talk to anyone if not one of only 3 options.
Probably the worst company communication system i have attempted to use.
Still on hold ……. again

Arrived with my postal flyer & expected to open an isa.
Yet again I'm stopped as there is no availability for opening without a meeting.
No meetings available & would you like to arrange one for a future date.
No I would not. So I left and opened an isa at the leeds instead .

Contacted Skipton on Friday 28th August 2026 to discuss my accounts.
Was given excellent service and especially would like to thank Mike G who was extremely helpful and resolved all my queries.

My query was quickly sorted on the chat facility

It was so easy to open a new savings account here. Leah was very helpful and explained clearly about all the different savings accounts on offer - got a really good rate! No queues which was fab!

The welcome to your new home box was both a lovely surprise and an extremely well thought out selection of gifts and offers. 10/10 for this initiative ♥️

Friendly old fashioned good service. Staff make you feel welcome and are not in a rush so there is time to ask questions if you have any. Very helpful without being pushy. Kind and courteous .

Had problems trying to find answer to requirements. Used chat button and managed to share requirements with Sean who resolved matters in minutes - wish I had known sooner that you had humans on-line at the weekend

Another fab interaction with Kyle on webchat. He sent the information I needed straight away and allowed me to close off my queries in minutes. Great service!

All financial institutions struggle with knowing what the rules are on legacy ISAs and whether going into local branches makes things easier or more difficult. But London local branch good (even though it slowed things down) and Usama, Akash and others really helpful. All financial institutions need to make the rules crystal clear for their colleagues and their clients alike.
