Skipton Building Society have introduced a new “all singing/dancing” app, but if you’re elderly & have neither passport nor driving licence you have no means of proving you exist when a slip of the fingers isolates you from their app!

We were unable to find the product we wanted on line so telephoned and explained our difficulty to Laura. This lady could not have been more helpful and completed our transaction clearly and to our utmost satisfaction (and relief!). Very many thanks. Grateful octogenarian and nonagenarian.

Id like to thank them for an absolute mind bending switch to the new app. Wouldn't accept my password, had to change password to one i didn't want and will probably forget, so guess what, ill had to write it down. Then had to send pictures of a document, then had to send a selfie. And now im waiting for them to authentic all this while my niece is in a Spanish hospital waiting for me to send money for her treatment. GREAT JOB! Oh. Its 6am so what time do you think my documents will be authenticated. It should have been easy. Whats the point of fingerprint authentication on these devices anyway

Very easy to open an account over the phone. Easier than dealing with robots online. Very efficient and pleasant staff.

I called yesterday to renew my ISA and spoke to a lovely financial assistant, Nicola Brown who was very helpful and clearly explained the process and arranged for this to be completed for me. Nicola was very kind and asked if there was anything else that Skipton could do to help me as I had recently been very unwell and am still awaiting a further operation. Today a parcel arrived unexpectedly and Nicola had arranged on behalf of Skipton to have a lovely food hamper of treats delivered to me - I am blown away by such a caring service and the human aspect that Skipton still offers unlike some establishments. It certainly put a smile on my face and you even included my favourite coffee & walnut cake! Thank you Nicola & Skipton so much for this gift.
