Spent over 2 hours going round in…
Spent over 2 hours going round in circles thanks to new app which is diabolical. Not possible to update any personal details any longer; I need to update my home address and was unable to. The instructions to do so only apply to the old app so are out of date yet they keep the info on the website to waste your time. How can a company make such a ridiculous oversight. And then not correct it.
You go onto the website to change your address, which prompts you to get a code from the app. You go to the app which prompts you to go to the new app. The new app is missing half the options from the old app including THE ABILITY TO GENERATE A CODE. They now say to do this you have to email in photos if both sides of your driving licence/passport orsend your ID in the post along with all of the rest of your personal information. The email address to do this isn't on the app or anywhere verifiable so could be a cloned email for all I know. The information and steps to make one change is extremely excessive and a security risk ... giving every single piece of personal info in one place whether via email or post is a massive secuty risk with all the amount of fraud and scams this is going to generate more scams.
The only other op ton is to go to a branch. Im not making a 20- 30 mile round trip just to change my address. Unacceptable

If I could, I'd give them 10 stars. Excellent customer service. I have had to deal with a number of banks, insurance companies, etc lately and have spent literally hours trying to sort out both my own finances and my mother's as her power of attorney.
Today I called Skipton and spoke to someone within 2 minutes. Jamie helped me to understand my options and sorted everything out for me in no time. I shall only use this building society going forward now. What an utter relief. Thank you.

Good accounts but find them almost obstructive when trying to close accounts or transfer money. No live chat options have to rely on phoning during fairly limited hours or sending a message which can take 5 days for a response. Hence now tend to avoid this building society

Great service at the Reigate shop
I visited the Skipton branch in Reigate to renew a savings bond (without an appointment) and was dealt with very quickly and efficiently by a very helpful member of staff. The shop was very clean and tidy and the service was excellent throughout.
