Made a mistake in an application which I was able to fix through chat, it was nice to deal with a human being (Megan) and not a bot.

Skipton are removing web access. Only app access in future. This is unhelpful to the elderly with poor sight. A big laptop screen is easier to read than a phone screen.

A Top Notch Building Society with plenty of products for it's members. Highly recommended.

Always best customer service on multiple occasions with staff giving the best of attention.

It was a straight forward experience with no fancy talk

Using the NEW skipton app, very poor and small screen if using on iPad or android tablets. Don’t know why it wasn’t tested first, such a let down especially as all the hype suggested it was really good, the old app was so much better…let’s hope they note this and redesign the app as once you change you can’t go back.

Downloading the New Skipton by Invite App was easy. Setting it up wasn't. Went round and round in circles. I believe I have finally set it up. Can I get rid of the old Skipton App?

As always excellent service. This is a personal building society. Good rates and always very helpful - face to face, phone on this time via online chat.

The phone is answered by a human being and not an AI assistant. TIme and again, I get my business done by polite, professional personnel, who know what they are doing, and do it so efficiently . I donot hesitate to recommend the Skipton Building Society to anyone in need of financial services. Thank you.

I have an online only savings account with a small balance that I have not used in ages. They sent me a letter the other day about some prize draw or something which I didn't qualify for anyway. That prompted me to close this obsolete account.

I could still log in but the linked bank account and mobile phone are also obsolete. I can't close the account without a linked bank account and I can't link a new account without the phone and I can't change the mobile phone online.

I online chatted with support who were as helpful as they could be - which was not at all.

They told me they couldn't do anything because it is an online only account and if I need to change the associated mobile number I will have to write to them or visit a branch the nearest branch being 40 miles away. This specifically online only account requires me to write letters or drive 40 miles.

The small balance isn't worth the hassle so they will keep my money. I hope it costs them more to maintain the account than they make from it.

As other reviews, no allowance is made for older customers who are not so tech savvy, or who are even regularly online. Transferring over to the new app is so complicated if you don’t have ALL security answers to hand, immediately, that I feel there’s no point bothering to have the new app. Don’t forget, SBS is asking YOU to transfer, not the other way around, and yet they want you to jump through hoops to achieve THEIR request. Maybe the change of app is only necessary because THEIR security is vulnerable 🤷‍♀️

Saw advice to make an appointment rather than just walk into branch which is what we have done before. One of us pair of old folks does not use a computer.
Tried the phone but the recorded message was a bit muffled, and the wait would have been long. The web chat was slow but satisfactory result.

The agent who answered the phone was excellent in both his manner, his knowledge and the execution of the problem in a satisfactory manner. The long wait for some one to answer the phone is annoying and the reason for the call was the impossibility of closing an account or even moving any money from it. The agent successfully did everything over the phone.
