Stagnant product for last 6 years
Stagnant product for last 6 years. No innovations, no improvements. Bugs and issues reported years ago haven't been addressed.
The good part is that since they have stopped making changes, it has not given any surprises in terms of new bugs.

Hi there! Thanks for being a loyal customer for so long! I just wanted to note a few big updates over the past year. We launched our Stripe App, our LinkTree app (which allows merchants to sell digital products directly from Linktree with one click, the only App that can do this), migrated to auto scaling on AWS infrastructure, and we are about to ship automated tax calculations with TaxJar (next week!). We're also launching a new create product experience in June/July.
That said, I realize and appreciate for awhile that we didn't ship enough new stuff, but keen to keep shipping, fast!

Sendowl is SO easy to use and the price is excellent. The one major draw back that I cant overcome is when people who have purchased my subscription product cancel their paid subscription, it unsubscribes them from my mailing list. Other than that, I love sendowl!

ZERO customer service!
Customer service?? What customer service?? Is that when they supposed to get back to you and help with a platform they provide? But they don't help with anything. I'm not sure what they do and why any merchant would want to use them?? I paid for an e- book, downloaded it to kindle as I do all my books all the time, but it just wouldn't appear. Their response was that they couldn't help. What? They don't know how their own app works? Well I am disgusted. In the end I pursued and eventually managed to get it onto my kindle library all by myself but with great difficulty and frustration. The company should be able and keen to advise how to get their app onto one's reading list. If they can't advise, who can??? Terrible service.

Hi, sorry to hear that! We can investigate what happened for those transactions to fail. Your payment gateway (Stripe, PayPal, etc) process the payment, so it's possible something went awry there. SendOwl is incredibly affordable, easy to use, and functional
SendOwl is incredibly affordable, easy to use, and provides the necessary functions for my application, which is selling PDF books with the buyer's email stamped on each page to reduce piracy. That's all I've used the service for.
I've used SendOwl since 12/2016 and have never had a customer complaint about the service. That includes about 500 individual sales.

Beware of bad Stripe tariff and dark patterns
On the surface SendOwl looks pretty reasonable with its $15–40 of monthly fee and $0.04–0.03 per transaction, in addition to your Stripe fees.
What's not so obvious however, is that the Stripe tariff SendOwl will apply is not the same tariff that you see in your Stripe account.
It's not something SendOwl will show you in its plan comparison but a rather small print below: "2.9% + $0.30 for merchants located in the United States. Add 2% for merchants located outside the United States".
Yes, that's right: with SendOwl you pay 4.9% + $0.30 even for for standard European cards instead of 1.5% + €0.25 that you would have paid if just using Stripe checkout. And don't forget to add SendOwl monthly fee plus $0.04–0.03 per transaction on top.
So, in reality, trading via SendOwl will cost you 6–8% on average, depending on your prices, compared to 3.5–4.5 of Stripe checkout.
What's the takeaway? As usual: be careful, do your own research, do your maths and always read small print.
