Around four months ago after an update…

Around four months ago after an update the sound started glitching with fandango. I believed it to be my hue device. It’s continued to the point where I was ready to replace my home theatre. As a last ditch effort I looked at the Roku community and found many others have been experiencing the same. I purchased the Roku for the ability to run atmos through hdmi. The only forum response people have received continuously over four months is, “thanks your info will be forwarded our tech are working on the issue”.

ROKU Streaming Stick

My ROKU Stick bought in the UK from Argos. Said on box that BBC iPlayer, 4, 5, ITVx were available. They were not. I spent 3 hours on customer support chat before being transferred to a specialist who was abl;e to fix the device in 10 minutes.

Bored with repetitious cycle

I get so bored, because the shows and movies are repeated over and over. More likely to watch if they upgraded the shows every week. I mostly switch to Netflix or Prime to avoid watching re-runs over and over.

Roku remote swindle

If anyone wants a Roku remote that doesn't work I'm your man. I have 3. Even researching the exact device and ordering the replacement remote doesn't work. It's ok for people who use their phones but if your trying to help an OAP whose shop bought Roku decided to stop working then forget it.

Roku is soooo bad!

Ordered remote from website but learned it was wrong model when receipt issued. Immediately called to cancel — many hours before shipping — but told order couldn’t be canceled and send back for refund. Did that and still no refund. Can’t reach English-speaking reps and emails ignored. Finally got refund from AmEx bc Roku customer service wouldn’t help.

Customer service, basically, does not exist

Roku is okay. Its not the best of anything, but the service is good, with decent selection.
Customer service however, is a nightmare. You cant call, and their chat support just leaves the chat. After 2 weeks of nightmares, I finally got a roku "specialist." All we needed to do was hold the reset button for 10 seconds. Worst customer service ever.

Roku SUCKS

Roku SUCKS, Signed up for paramount+ through roku on the 18th of sep. Was an introductory rate of $60/yr. When i got my first charge it was for 12.99 and 12.99 per month after that. What happened to the introductory rate?? Stopped the auto renew in account but the way I see it roku owes me $7.99 since 60/yr is $5.00/month. To me that is bait and switch. Promise one rate and charge another. Roku said to contact paramount and paramount said to contact roku. So neither wants to own up to overcharging me. Removed auto renew on account so they don't screw me again without a kiss. I will never have anything to do with either again. Signed up through my tv on roku and they say they cant find it, cant find it but still charged????? Made complaint to BBB and that was a waist of time! will report to FTC, that will probably be a waist of time as well.

useless apps

air play is about as consistent in function as a fart in the wind ultimately the only way i can get anything to display on this thing is with an HDMI cable like its 2005 having checked the wifi router the tv and my macbook all of which are up to date roku still won't show up on screen mirroring.

Decent tv

Decent tv, I do use it a lot to watch YouTube and Netflix with the missus. Sound quality is a bit shite though, unlike my missus, if she was a tv she’d be a good one

Roku is broken HellSh! T

My Roku streambar stopped working, and the only option the TV was giving me was to sync my remote. By pressing a button my remote doesn't have. After help was of course no help I bought the newer remote. It wouldn't detect that it was connected to eARC. It detected it before the streambar stopped working for no reason. Factory resetting it got the streambar to work, but then it wouldn't detect anything plugged into hdmi (EXCEPT the streambar). There was no option or setting to detect connected devices. So I threw the remote against the wall, unplugged the streambar, and put batteries back in the old remote. Low and behold, all my connected devices reappeared. So I put batteries back in the new remote, and it automatically switched to the streambar, deletes all the connected devices and makes it impossible to use connected devices. So now I've got it where if I want to use the soundbar, I have to use the new remote, but if I want to use my TV as my pc monitor, which is it's primary function, I have to use the old remote. I will never buy another Roku product again. I shouldn't have to use 2 remotes, but the new remote somehow makes the TV incapable of detecting anything but the streambar, so I have to use the old one simultaneously. This is what I wanted to be doing in the middle of the night.

Should have got a Fire Stick

I bought a Roku as we could no longer get the Chromecast with Google TV for £30 ish and the Google streamer at £100 is just crazy. I had heard of Roku for years but this was our first streamer, it was only £20 but it is absolute RUBBISH!. It freezes constantly, it resets constantly, it updates all the time and you have to login again and in every app. It is like tech for the 90's. Why during setup do you need a payment method, no way around it. I will pay if and when I need to you don’t need to store it.

We have now changed our tv so it is consigned to a draw and likely will never use it again. Started seeing TV's with Roku built in what a joke I will avoid them completely after experiencing this total rubbish.

Had to cancel t.v provider because of financial. I had espn + renew $119 but because I canceled t.v provider I couldn't watch it. so when I contacted roku and told them I wasn't aware I wouldn't be able to see something I paid for. they told me all sales are finale no refunds. iam a senior on fixed income and this is highway robbery.

Just dredful

Dreadful customer service.Dreadful TV.support actually said I should have checked features before buying!!was trying to connect headphones via Bluetooth but it has not got that feature, I think you have to buy a separate device.Found that on Youtube since customer service just said you can't!!

They just don't care

There is a complete lack of knowledge of the products within the Roku company.
My issue was obviously not even read by the "technicians" as they offered solutions to different problems, even though on numerous occasions I reiterated the problem, which I deduce is caused by the fact the product cannot be turned off or put into standby (meaning it overrides all other instructions using Harmony products).
In the end I had to give up and remove the Roku device from my setup, but as Freely becomes more established, the Roku product range will likely become irrelevant, at least in the UK - which is a region which Roku obviously has no interest in supporting.
It's a shame, because when the devices works, it works well. It's just let down by zero support when something does go wrong.

No attempt to help a customer

Shit customer service. Had the 4k stick just over a year and the remote has stopped working. Asked them for a new remote and they have refused. No interest in helping their customer whatsoever. Disappointing - thought they would have made the effort
