Disappointed by Excessive Profanity in Content

I am disappointed with the amount of profanity used in movies available on the Roku Streaming TV app. As someone who looks for positive and family-friendly themes, this makes it difficult to enjoy the content. I don’t understand why programmers believe excessive profanity improves the viewing experience. If this issue is not addressed, I will remove the app from my device and share my concerns with others. I hope Roku will consider offering cleaner content options for viewers who value more positive entertainment. Thank you. cheribu.com

RUN…RUN FAR AWAY FROM ROKU

Actually a 0!!!! I won’t go into all the details, because there isn’t enough room. I called into them on 12/22 to get app assistance. The scum bag was actually hackking my phone as he continued to talk to me, accessing every payment method on my phone. $1067 on Apple, $200 on my debit card, opened up a PayPal credit card and charged a s##t on that. Got 85% of it back so far, but I will NEVER AGAIN use Roku, I’m actually considering filing a lawsuit against them after that.

Roku robbery

Paid for Angel Guild annual membership and it was totally lacking , 6 days later canceled with Angel Studios, the sent my refund to Roku who refuses to process the third party refund to my account. Roku is a crooked, dishonest company. Because of their deceitful practices I will never purchase any subscriptions through them. Avoid this company at all costs!!!

Not what it used to be.

I been using roku since the beginning. They used to had all kind of apps you could load for free. Like just western,horror or just about anything. Even how to learn stuff. Now all you get is nothing. Unless you want to pay. It has turned into the old cable channels that played the same stuff over and over for a month, well ruko been playing the same episodes for over three months. Not worth my time anymore.

Data Stealers

Since the most recent updates they automatically turned off all your privacy rights. They track your location and data and turn on the remote mic listening. You have to go in yourself and turn it all back off. Also now there's lots of pop-ups for paid channels you can't shut off. Even if you try to "hide channel" they won't go away

Thieves

I subscribed and paid a months price and they canceled me in 2 weeks and wanted another monthly payment. Roku are a bunch of thieves. Never subscribe whatever you do.

This company deserves to be called the biggest corrupted business and should be closed down, The illegal practices of charging for goods that they do not provide,

I've had an Insignia / Roku TV for a…

I've had an Insignia / Roku TV for a number of years now. They just started advertising this "Backdrop App" I downloaded it and after looking at it, I just didn't want to use it. I unistalled it. It's been about 2 weeks since I did this and this morning when I hit the power off button the Backdrop app appeared. I kept doing this and my TV would not go off. I went on Roku and it seems Roku support was stating "customers have been having problems with the Backdrop app which keeps coming up." They have different ways to keep it from happening, which none helped me so I contacted support. Long story short, this was the final quote from them. "I know this is frustrating since we do a lot of things to fix it. But since this is your account, you have the access to manage it so before you installed or download something you should be aware of what is the consequences or the things it may cause you." If the company knows there's a problem and are addressing it??? Then why is it now MY PROBLEM??? I Could not believe this lady "Diana" stated this.

Woke up & all apps deleted & signed out!

Woke up this morning and they irrevocably signed me out of ALL my apps, every last one of them and also deleted all of them. Signed me out of the whole tv with no indication as to what account it used to be under. SCREW THIS TV

Painful in the extreme

Painful in the extreme. Every couple of months it decides to stop providing some streaming services (usually iplayer and Channel 4) and the only way we have found to get these working again is to do a complete reset which takes about an hour. As I say painful in the extreme.

Roku basically held my TV hostage until I agreed to let them spy on me

So this just happened to me and I’m still mad. My Roku TV popped up this new “Smart TV Experience” screen out of nowhere and said I had to agree to let them use ACR to watch EVERYTHING on my screen (antenna, HDMI, apps, all of it) and sell what I’m watching to whoever they want.
I clicked “Disagree” because no way am I okay with that. The second I did, EVERY single app stopped working. Netflix, YouTube, Prime, nothing would open. Just spun forever. I restarted, updated, unplugged, nothing helped until I factory reset the whole thing and fought with the settings again.
Thousands of us got the exact same lock-out the moment we said no to their spying. It’s not a glitch, it’s on purpose to pressure you into giving in. I shouldn’t have to wipe my own TV just to keep it from snooping on me.
Roku, this is dirty. Fix it. Until you let people say no without punishing us, I’m telling everyone I know to stay away.

I wanted to leave zero stars

I wanted to leave zero stars, but was only given the option of 1 star. I tried to set up a Roku account on our TV. It was very awkward to do and even though it was telling me it was a free service, it wouldn't proceed any further at one point until I gave my bank details on line, which I wasn't going to do. My TV was then left locked in with the setup procedure and any thing I tried to get back to the TV home page would not work. Eventually I managed to get out of the procedure by turning off both the TV and Wi Fi hub then turning on the TV with the hub switched off, Why offer a free service then ask for my bank details?!!!!! How dare you you try and hold me to ransom by locking my TV until you've got my bank details!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roku sells garbage hardware and pumps it full of ads as soon as you connect it to the internet. Their software "updates" regularly break apps. Don't waste your time with Roku.
