My husbsnd had Roku in his hospital room. He died in May. I believed I cancelled his subscription in June. However, even though his Roku was unplugged at the time of his passing, I got a bill recently for the next year. What? Not cancelled? It is now 1.24.26 cancelled, but no refund for the 2025 charges. I'm very disappointed.

So. Many. Issues.
Let me start off by saying I have been a Roku consumer for quite some time. I have always loved their product, and the user friendly interface. Easy for my kids to adapt to.
With that being said….never again will I by ANY Roku products.
Within the last 12 days I have had two Roku tvs, bought brand new, have issues. First tv was a 50”. Second a 55”.
Had to return the first one due to it not getting past the start up Roku screen. When I went back to the store, they no longer had any other 50” so I went with the 55”.
As soon as I got home and plugged it in, there was an electrical buzzing noise coming from the rear of the tv where the plug goes. Sounded like some sort of diode on the verge of popping.
This time I decided to email Roku help. Long story short(ish), after emailing back and forth for about 5 days and being talked to in circles, they completely cut off any all communication. On top of that, they “marked the issue resolved” when clearly it was not resolved.
Not only did I receive two, brand new tvs with issues, the customer service was completely garbage and useless.
My third TV is a TCL mini led. The tv will used for my kids in the game room. Although slightly pricier, the picture on this tv is 10x better. Crisper, sharper and way brighter! Oh and best of all!!! NO ISSUES!!!
Beware of all Roku products and customer service. Be safe by a different product.

They never update their ads
There are too many ads and it's the same ads for years. They have maybe 20 total ads. Those are all you'll see on Roku. It drove me nuts enough to get rid of Roku. I just use Prime now.
Holiday and Promotional Roku sign ups…
Holiday and Promotional Roku sign ups for other premium channels are not being honest with consumers. When you sign up for promotions they do not tell you if you qualify or not. When you sign in to your account they offer 2 and 3 month promotions for some of your premium channels. Then charge and break up into 2 payments for a monthly subscription every 15 days which is full price. You call and they tell you new customers only get the promotions not previous or existing customers. Meanwhile it does not say that on your account when they put up the offers for discounted premium Channels. They charge this way and some people may not catch onto what is happening, It seems like a cooperate scam.

Roku you guys suck! There should be more lenient return policies on subscriptions.
I was just charged for something I did not authorize and because its “final” I can’t get my money back. I don’t even care for the subscription service that wasn’t purchased by me.
If this was the last of what i had would you guys honor my return?
Roku keeps changing my home screen
Roku keeps changing my home screen. Adding apps I didn't ask for, adding shortcuts, suggestions and just cluttering my home screen with junk I didn't ask for or want. I tried talking with their tech support and all I got was crap. I watch 6 apps and that is all I want on my screen. Roku, you are not smarter than me so why are you trying to second guess what I want? I think I'll try a Firestick.

Thieves !! I cancelled my payment card ages ago , yesterday i saw my Disney+ subscription needed renewing , so Roku tv directed me to them for payment , as i put my card details they immediately stole £59.99 and £3.99 for channels i dont want and then say i must go directly to Disney+ to pay my subscription ! Shameful , i had to contact my bank and paypal to halt this thievery !!

if you get a roku you can expect to pay for a “ channel” and if you happen to see a movie or tv program that interests you then you can expect to pay for it along with your normal fee for “ channel” and if you into american football ( i can not speak on baseball , not a fan) you can expect to pay at least 80$ a month and hope you get to see your team it is a major ripoff and not worth the headaches you will get trying to watch college or pro ball … just my experience

I can't wait to save enough money to buy a different TV and take this Roku TV and smash it into a billion pieces I'm so sick of watching Spanish commercials I can puke why would a person want to watch a freaking show just for a Spanish commercial if you don't understand English why would you watch an English show just to watch the Spanish commercial it's enough to drive a person insane I do not recommend Roku unless you want to be absolutely utterly annoyed
Never Again
Bought my first Roku Tv for the kid at Christmas, it will also be my last. No way to setup the unit without creating a online account, no offline setup. Can't install common apps. Roku app store has poor variants of free software that you need to pay a subscription to use, kodi etc... Send lots of data back home and forces ads on my screen. No way to change the software on the tv. Absolutely shocking that companies think this is acceptable. Never again will I buy a Roku.
Schlimmer geht’s nimmer
Einfach nur schlecht. Permanent verliert Roku Express das WLAN. Dann wieder raus aus dem Menue, neu verbinden und nach 10 Minuten beginnt das Spiel von neuem. Resetten, anderer Standort usw. hat alles nichts gebracht. Teurer Elektronikschrott!
Roku products are junk
Roku products are junk! I just purchased a streaming stick and it broke after one month - the HDMI does not work after testing on multiple devices. Even worse is their customer service they transfer you through multiple people over two hour periods via chat (you cannot email them accordingly to their chat bots) and they are no help. I recently threw out a Roku TV that lasted two years. The streaming stick breaking this past month is the last straw. I will no longer be a customer. Beware, stay away, disposable electronics with even worse customer service! Is anyone else sick of the world of customer service via chat bots that are useless?
