Roku stick- convert dumb tv to smart

Bought a roku stick to convert my dumb tv to smart but freeview apparently is not supported nor can I get a combined preferably 7day Freeview tv guide on it
It seems good for other individual tv channels but after much research I am disappointed as I was under the impression that this stick would work for my basic purpose and could not be returned to Amazon store

Too many advertisements, might as well have cable. Do these corporations realize that advertising doesn't sell products? I see an advertisement for something and I'm actively inclined to avoid purchasing said product.

I ordered a Roku remote

I ordered a Roku remote, the remote never arrived, and now they want me to find out what happened by contacting USPS. They are putting the burden on me to find out why the package never arrived. This is unacceptable. NEVER BUY from them !!

Customer Service may as well be Non-existant.

I bought a voice remote which came without the necessary TV pair button on the back. I contacted the dreadful chat bot to return it. It gave me instructions on how to pair it without the button. I tried again--for an hour. It did not work. I have now been on the chat box again to try and get a replacement or refund. It's been half an hour and they keep telling me the everything I already know and then asking me to "hold for a brief moment" which they find the "best person" to answer my question. My life is passing me by. This used to be a great company. What a shame.

Roku tv needs a class action lawsuit…

Roku tv needs a class action lawsuit against them. I have the same complaints as most people. I suscribed to BET App through Roku Tv in December 25, and cancelled the BET App through Roku Tv January 3, 2026 because the App was faulty and keep repeating tracks and episodes of the same show. The RokuTV thieves and scammers still charge me for February. My bank is investigating this issue and will return my money. There is no customer service number or contact just a cheating ghost name Roku Tv that steals customers money. I will report them to the FCC and BBB.

I ordered ryoku with a 3 month plan to…

I ordered ryoku with a 3 month plan to check it out and I didn't receive the product until 2 months later so I only had access to the Wi-Fi for a month they would not rectify it and they would not make it better they would not give me that 2 months back besides that the internet service sucks it's slow it skips it's just not worth it in my opinion they offered to give me free gifts which every gift that they offered the shipping was more than the product would have been singularly or separately. It's a giant scam please don't waste your time and money with them or if you do you'll be sorry.

No customer service available. It’s not fair to have to pay for something you can’t use such as Roku tlc televisions! Perfect internet signal but Roku won’t let my internet work through one tv. Horrible company! Will never purchase from Roku again!!!!!!!!!!

Buyer Beware

Buyer beware, even after you cancel your method of payment saved in your account Roku will charge your account using the saved token info (got an education from CC company on that) connected to your credit card. Then Roku will lie to your CC company stating they never received a cancelation, which was made by phone, in addition to canceling the CC.
Streaming isn't too bad, occasionally encountered saving space issues with very few apps but could be just that it was a simple box.

Roku-TV nur mit E-Mail-Registrierung?????

Leider muss ich schreiben, daß ich negativ zu meinem Roku-TV stehe. Für mich ist die gesamte Menüführung unverständlich, unlogisch. Auch das Einrichten des TV- ich schließe die Antenne an, schalte das Gerät ein, wähle den Antennen-Eingang und genießen- nicht hier, nein, ich kann das Gerät nur nutzen, wenn ich mich mit meiner E-Mail-Adresse registriere. Sorry, ich steige um und hol mir ein anderes TV-Gerät.

Thank you, April!

After 2 very frustrating hours of trying to cancel Fox1 free trial, I called Roku customer service. I believe it was April who efficiently and with sympathy so solved my problem within a matter of minutes and obtained the appropriate refunds from FOX. She was most pleasant to deal with, and I hope she gets credit for this successful resolution.

Roku stupidity’

Roku is horrendous! I spoke with 3 different people, At least the last one w as honest. He told me I’d have to get batteries for my physical remote…except I’m snowed in. The remotes on my IPhone nor my IPad won’t work due to network issues. They can’t fix that!

ROKU lies

Looks like I'm not alone. I've wasted over 7 hours of Roku tossing me over to Disney to deal with a billing issue, of which Disney has NO account of. I've been on hold for over four hours over the last month being "promised", "rest assured" and "you can trust me" that the refund would be escalated and returned within hours, but always returning with an E-mail stating that they escalated it to DISNEY to solve it. Disney did not bill me, Roku did. So angry! I declared the charge as fraud and had to cancel my credit card. :-(

PURE JUNK

I have a Roku stick and it is so hit or miss, sometimes I turn the TV on and it works and other times I have to mess around for a half an hour to get & stay connected. It is pure JUNK and I do not recommend it to anyone unless you have the patience of a saint.

Their $40 Roku streaming device comes stock with a remote that has no volume control button. I went to Walmart and bought the $10 remote that does and now it won’t control the volume either. When I had the cheaper Roku streaming stick it had volume buttons and automatically worked. Why when I upgrade I get a remote with no volume buttons and when I upgrade the remote after that it won’t work?! Even selling a remote without volume control is a rip off. I have 2 remotes working on it now but the device doesn’t recognize either of them so I can try to fix it according to Rokus instructions. Huge headache.

Would leave zero stars I chatted with Roku last night for help signing into a non Roku device the agent John had no clue what to do I said I want a refund since I can’t use paramount on a non Roku device and he canceled the account entirely I said no I don’t want to cancel the account I want a refund for not being able to sign into a non Roku device to use as advertised he said I can’t refund you without cancelling the account I said I will call corporate office he said what corporate office wow lol I left the chat called Roku this morning and was told by Juan that guy cancelled my account I have to sign up again through paramount I said Juan paramount is now going to charge me 8.99 but I was paying 6.36 he said just call them and they will help u I said Juan when they say they can’t help me I’m going to call back he said ok but they will help you so of course another lie from Roku they. Couldn’t help because they weren’t the ones who cancelled the account illegally without my permission so I called back to Roku spoke to merleen who seemed as she just rolled out of bed didn’t listen no help at all I asked to speak to supervisor taking one last chance on competency spoke to April still no help she said there’s nothing she can do even though she saw the chat from last night with the idiot who illegally cancelled the account I said wow this is Roku mistake and your saying u can’t do anything she said yes I said I will call corporate and blast this scamming company through review I lvm for corporate advising of all this unnecessary situation I’m sure they won’t be calling me back either as Roku is a scam company and does things illegally I may file lawsuit to go after them beware go with fire tv don’t buy Roku they will scam you.

Unauthorized charges

Roku charged my card without authorization $156.00 and won't refund it. Thieving company don't let them get ahold of your card info, I reported it in June 2025 and I'm still dealing with them
