I spoke with a representative and was blown away by her technical mastery, she answered every niche question I had with ease. I had a specific model in mind, but she identified a superior alternative that I hadn't even considered. She was a true subject matter expert.

Proceed cautiously with Freely sales representatives and policy details. Particularly with coverage details called "Trip Inconvenience". I had a major flight delay going to a tour in Europe causing me significant additional costs. Zurich/Freely denied my claim because airline delay was due to Air Traffic Control issue and was NOT covered. Very disappointing!

I have recommended this company of years, however, my recent claim from June has been dragged out, with my most recent correspondence coming today.
My trip was interrupted because my father required emergency care and I am his primary caregiver. That was stressful enough. Then I had to be rerouted and both my bags were damaged. I wrongly assumed my coverage would take care of these changes, costs, and hiccups because that is why you buy it. Every step of the way they have tried to twist the policy terms to deny coverage. They are refusing to cover my baggage and keep claiming my final destination was an airport, not my home, despite the policy not specifying airports as the beginning and end point of coverage (clearly ground transport is part of any itinerary). I am now taking it up with the Attorney General's Office in my state for consumer fraud and doing a chargeback for my policy cost with my credit card. This kind of behavior is the exact opposite of why you buy travel insurance.
