terrible after service
Bought by raleigh centros ebike from a bike shop, sadly a few months later the battery and battery cover were stolen. Paid for replacements but raleigh sent out the wrong battery and battery cover. they said sorry and would send the correct cover free of charge as compensation. Have been waiting for over 3 months for the cover and still nothing, raleigh ignore messages asking when it will arrive.
Dishonest practices and unhelpful customer service from hell …
Raleigh customer service has absolutely no idea at which dealer customers can compare frame sizes. Raleigh offer a 14 day money back scheme but still charge £45 if the size ordered doesn’t fit the customer. Raleigh’s website blatantly lies. It states:
What happens if my new bike is the wrong size when it arrives?
We know that mistakes can happen and it’s important that your new bike is a perfect fit, so that’s why we offer free 14 day returns on all of our bikes sold online. If your bike isn’t the right size for you just let us know and we can arrange to collect it from you free of charge.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Avoiding using them directly. A bike we ordered was damaged and rather than trying to help the woman implied it was our fault for not fitting it properly. The attitude in the phone was appalling.
We bought the kids Raleigh pop 20inch…
We bought the kids Raleigh pop 20inch in plumb (which looked amazing) for our daughters birthday and it turned up in time for her birthday, excellent going Raleigh ;) just in the nick of time!
Can’t think why the stars are low on Trust pilot but I’m sure Raleigh will learn and figure it out.
Here is the feedback sent to Raleigh…
Here is the feedback sent to Raleigh and their reply:
The seat post of my 3 year old Raleigh e bike snapped this weekend. I consider this to be a very serious issue, luckily I was not riding it. It seems that the post just literally sheared in half upon lifting it up to move it. I have spoken to the customer service team and they suggested that I contact the shop where I bought it. They also said that they had only ever had a hand full of seat posts snapping, which is even more worrying. They also advised me that the bike was no longer in warranty. I feel that Raleigh should take this matter seriously and not just fob me off with warranty issues. The seat post is obviously not fit for purpose. Alongside this when I first bought the bike the chain snapped on the 3rd day. The stand has also broken. I am sorry to say that I will not be buying another Raleigh or recommending it to anyone either. The fact that there isn’t a complaint department or form is also not helpful. I am hoping that it can be repaired but obviously with a cost to myself.
Their reply:Thank you for contacting Raleigh UK.
We are disappointed to hear of the issue with your seat post.
As the bike was purchased from a store, your sales purchase agreement and point of contact is the shop from whom the bike was purchased.
Although the warranty has now ended, we would suggest taking the bike to the original store for a technician to inspect.
Both the chain and stand issues should have been reported to the store immediately at the time these instances occurred.
This is something in which we are unable to further assist you with, the store would certainly be able to help with sourcing a suitable replacement and resolution.
Avoid. Clearly serious issues at Raleigh UK.
Ordered a bike two weeks ago on the website. Bike shown in stock, payment taken in full. A full TWO WEEKS later, I get a call saying the bike was never in stock. The stock error I can forgive, these things happen, but why did it take two full weeks to call me to let me know? Left totally in the lurch just before Christmas. I wish I had seen the reviews here, they clearly have endemic problems, I will choose a company that sticks by its commitments instead.
Slow poor service
First order for an accessory took two weeks to arrive.
Second order, they took my order and money and then weeks later you contact them because you have heard nothing and they say they never had stock and it was a computer glitch. Now have to wait for a refund.
Terrible service, would not recommend buying from Raleigh.
I wouldn’t give any stars
One star given because it is the minimum - I would submit a review on the Raleigh website but they have removed the reviews for the Raleigh Stride 2 from their website.
A Raleigh Stride 2 is a cargo bike designed to carry…cargo. What the website does not tell you is that the rear wheel will last for one year. The bike cost over £4000 so about £300 for every month I have been able to use it. That’s before the accessories which I bought for around £300 - one of which took six months to arrive.
The bike has carried a small child and shopping - nothing higher than the maximum load and has been used on roads and cycle paths with the occasional tow path. Yes it’s had some bumps - it’s a big heavy bike but you would think it would be designed with spokes that last. I’ve had to pay for replacement spokes with the bike shop I bought the bike from for £40 (the bike shop kindly contributed otherwise I would be looking around at least £100 which I will have to pay now that the same issue has arisen.
Customer service seem helpful - they explain things well but are not remotely interested in helping. Even the replacement parts I couldn’t even buy and would be on a six week lead time if I did.
I would still clear of all Raleigh products / especially the expensive and heavy e-bikes.
Broken bike, broken replacement
Absolutely terrible quality bike. I tried to purchase a Raleigh Grand Pioneer bike, and the front wheel did not fit into the front fork. I returned the bike and requested a replacement, only for the replacement to have the exact same issue - I'm relatively certain they just sent the same bike back to me after the useless attempt at fixing the issue. Complete waste of my time and money, I've requested a full refund. Hopefully I'll be able to get some money back from this pathetic company.
I purchased a Raleigh Array (Jan this…
I purchased a Raleigh Array (Jan this year so its only 10 mouths) new from a eclectic bike shop in Gloucester, for over a £1000.00 pounds with a range of 60 miles (So Say) now only after 10 months I am lucky if I get 30 miles from a fully charged battery. I put this to Raleigh customer support I just got fobbed off by them saying they don't have a tec department ??? Go back to the shop. The Ebike shop is a Raleigh agent and they are not interested in my view that only after 10 months it range has diminished considerably as the bike is not even a year old.
Very poor purchasing experience
Ordered front and rear lights online with a £10 voucher for joining mailing list. Order RALGB2332C338E9, Total £34.98 (with discount).
Paid with Paypal and got confirmation email.
Parcel arrived with only the rear light.
Phoned and explained 19 Sept and was told front light (£19.43) would be refunded back to paypal as no future stock of the front light available.
Checked Paypal on 21st and had refunded £15.55 (the cost of the cheaper light) not the missing front.
So in essence have bought rear light for approx current value, lost £10 voucher and Raleigh have an email address.
To rub salt in the wound on 22nd received sales email saying time for winter lights including the very light that they could not supply. !! BE VERY CAREFUL .
In fairness Raleigh have since refunded the difference, therefore upping to two stars
Raleigh Motus Derailleur…
I ordered the Raleigh Motus Derailleur online and received the bike 5 days later ! unfortunately the bike was a tad too big so i had to send it back. I requested a refund and ordered another bike online a smaller size, as this was quicker than waiting for a replacement. The new bike arrived and i was promptly refunded my original purchase. I now have a great quality Motus Derailleur which is a joy to ride and Raleigh UK have shown an excellent and trustworthy service which i can highly recommended.
Great!
Been to the Raleigh Experience Centre in Nottingham. Store is neat, also nice to see the old Raleigh models.
I have been waiting 7 months for a part…
I have been waiting 7 months for a part . In the past I have already been waiting 4 months for a new warranty motor . Big brand garbage customer service
Cycle scheme service was great by Natasha. Getting through using general number is tough!
I can see a lot of negative reviews mentioning not answering the phone and it’s true however I went through the Cycle Scheme and everything went really smooth. Natasha is amazing and dealt with all my queries, delivery and unfortunately return of the bike as I changed my mind. Just sharing my experience.
Very good very nice
Formal complaint
Dear Accell Group / KKR,
I sent a formal complaint to sales at raleigh.co.uk on the 7th, 12th, 17th + 18th of August 2023 and Raleigh UK are ignoring me.
I’ve Facebooked them, messaged, emailed and posted on FB and Insta!!!
Order number: -RALGB23B6DF1235
'I’ve ridden my bike a second time and the back wheel is warped!!!
Your toes hit the front mudguard when you turn the handle bars.
I want a full refund urgently!
I’m NOT HAPPY!
This bike is not fit for purpose.’
Waited over a month no response to emails.
Waited over a month, emailed 4 times, no reply, eventually managed to speak to someone in customer services, told bike ordered not in stock, and did not know when would be back in.
Very, very poor service
They don't seem to answer the phone
They don't seem to answer the phone. I've been waiting 3 hours. I have an issue with my order but by the time they answer the phone it will have got here.
Also if they are this hard to get hold of what if my bike doesn't fit. Will I be able to return it or get a refund? I think at this point maybe I am better off refusing delivery incase there are problems and then asking for a refund. If I can even get one for something that I haven't received.
It's been 3 hours. I give up.
Missing bolt - Cannot contact customer service?
Ordered a bike for my daughter's Birthday. Delivered quicker than expected, but everything else has been downhill since. Installed bike and found it was missing the bolt for the seat post. Tried every way possible to get hold of customer service - email, filled out a form, been on hold multiple times (once over 30 minutes) and via Facebook Messenger. Still no response from anyone?? Wish i had read the reviews before ordering. On the plus side - it is a nice bike which I am sure my daughter will like - once she gets to ride it.... Have now ordered a bolt online out of my own pocket because I can't be bothered to chase customer service up. No company should operate this way, it is a sure way to avoid repeat business form any customers.
