I have been cheated before and it breaks me to say I may be living it all over again. I even recommended them to others and now I am stuck chasing my own monies.
Forms filled, ID sent, team calls done and still they drag me back to yet another call. At my age, I just want peace of mind, not endless runarounds.
I am finally at ease knowing my money is safe with Gold Rule. They live up to their word and made me feel secure.
Still waiting 8 months later to wind up a simply policy
We have been trying to wind up a simple policy with Utmost for nearly 8 months with no success. The customer service department appears to be very short staffed, chaotic and badly trained. Multiple staff handle the same file, emails are not replied to and documentation received is not acknowledged. In our experience, they do not alert the customer if documentation is unacceptable – in our case a document that 2 staff members accepted was rejected six months later by another employee. Multiple separate requests for documentation were made over a series of months instead of all being requested at the start of the process. The final straw is that Utmost imposed quarterly fees in September, after we had submitted a formal complaint, when the policy only remains in existence because they haven’t wound it up after eight months! In short, they are charging us for their incompetence and failure of service. It is unclear if this delay is due to a cynical and deliberate policy by Utmost to spin out the process to maximise the fees they extract from customers or total incompetence. At this point we are genuinely concerned about the ultimate safety of our funds. In our experience, Utmost is definitely not a professional financial services company with clear and systematic processes for dealing with customers and growing and protecting their funds.
Steer clear of incompetent Utmost International
Do not let these charlatans anywhere near your money! If I could give them zero stars, I would. It has, so far, taken them more than seven months to surrender a straightforward Investment Bond. They go for months without contacting you and when you issue a formal complaint, instead of expediting the surrender of the Bond, they slap further charges onto the policy. They were first contacted on 1st February - I am still waiting for my money. My advice is to steer well clear of Utmost International.
log in problems
Normally I don't give reviews but as your site indicates, it may be rather hard to get to customer service if you have log in troubles. I just now have had it sorted out very easily, but it has been a long process. 4 calls on Thursday, with about 50 mins of waiting. Solution promised for Friday. Heard nothing. Called on Monday, half an hour of waiting and was told they would send me an email and call me on Tuesday morning. Heard nothing so called at 16.00. After half an hour of waiting I finally spoke with someone who solved the problem quickly. Thank you but what a huge unpleasant waste of my time. It doesn't help my view of the company, I even wondered if there was a charge on calling these numbers? SInce Thursday, I had also sent 3 emails all of which were unanswered. Just pointing it out.

Do not invest your money here
I have been a Wealth Interactive customer since before the takeover by Utmost and never faced any issues. In the last year I now face constant delays in getting one off withdrawals. I swiftly supply all the necessary documentation that is requested only to be met with silence or more requests for information. It’s clear that this company has issues with their interdepartmental processes which cause massive delays for their customers. I was assured an end of day response to my last email and 10 days later I still haven’t received any response. I’ve been waiting weeks now for the latest withdrawal and no resolution is in sight.

Absolutely awful company. I am Trustee for a small trust and have never dealt with some incompetance. They would ask for information, you provide it, then they ask for more, you provide it - and cycle repeats. After compaining they couldn't response within 8 weeks and told me to go to the IOM Odbudsman - I mean they can't even provide information to themselves !! Would avoid if possible
Incompetent
Once upon a time Utmost was competent. Now it is impossible to get through to them on the telephone and they do not respond to emails or complaints.

Completely agree with every other…
Completely agree with every other appalling review, which they obviously couldn’t care less about. 15 months after my father passed away we are still trying to withdraw the vast sum of £231. I have never come across prevarication like it. They have requested every form of ID possible with the lengthiest of delays. Zero customer service. They even ask questions about my father’s policy as if he were still alive. Thank goodness there isn’t a larger sum involved. I would recommend going to the Financial Ombudsman, I certainly will be if this continues. Shocking company, definitely avoid. One star only given as no option for minus.
SCAM / STAY AWAY
Please do not have use this company , I have withdrawn my money 6 weeks ago I did it early because I knew sometimes things can take a while, they have made the request after 2 weeks be requested again, then they took 2 weeks because my address was different, then I was told i would receive my money this week , after 6 weeks, and now after telling me o will receive it this week, they have not even made the transfer!!!!!! , and that I should not have been told that I should have expected it this week, after chasing it up and the lady having no clue what was going on , on the phone , I receive a email that they will chase it up next week! I needed the money 4 weeks ago! This company needs to be shut down , it’s a proper scamming company and it can not be legal what they are doing surely not, every single review is the same! STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY , worst thing is I didn’t even have a choice to have anything to Do with this shit business they merged with who I had funds with and now I’m just stuck with this shit and can’t even get my own money!

Thankfully I don’t have any finds invested with this company; however, I am witnessing first hand the frustration and stresses that this company is causing my wife and her family.
Their processes are protracted and the staff inept at following them. Requests for information are answered then ignored. Monies sent for dispersal/payout are still sat in their account more than a month after it was sent to them.
An absolute disgrace of an organisation. 18 months and counting.

I’m getting really worried!
I’ve been seriously scammed before. I used a recommended IFA this time and here I am again trying to get my monies out with constant stalling tactics.
Like others I’ve completed the form .. did a teams call to verify myself …. Sent the requested ID proof and now they want to do another Teams call.
Am I actually going to get my funds or is this a scam?!
Appalling Company
Like other reviewers, I am appalled at the time it takes for this Company to deal with a simple withdrawal request. They constantly stall and delay matters by requesting additional information, even though everything has been sent previously and verified by my IFA.
Had no choice but to accept the transfer of my bond from Quilter to Utmost but have had nothing but trouble since this was done. They seem to have no concept of customer service and ignore the fact that it is my money they are dealing with.
Incompetent or Dishonest? - Take your pick
Utmost are by far and away the worse institution in the world. They rely on the Irish Ombudsman not caring what they do. I bet the senior execs don’t have any problem getting their wages and bonuses paid. Whatever you do do not invest with this company and warn anyone and everyone else. They are not to be trusted. never do what they tell you they will do. STAY AWAY!

Do not invest with this company. Next stop is the Ombudsman. We would be so grateful if this review jogs them into action. We think they want us to forget our money rather than receive it. Is this true. Genuine people have invested hard earned cash with them and they are seriously taking advantage of their clients.

Have been trying 7 month to make a withdrawal…
Have been trying to make a withdrawal since end of april. I have sent them all documents they asked for. Verification of adress, verification of identity, tax declaration, bank statement and so on.
My bank also sent them a power of attorney who certifies that my bankman has the right to countersign the withdrawalform.
My bank sent them email 17 october without any respons at all. Almost 7 month of waiting to recieve my own money. Never had any problems like this before Utmost took over. My previous withdrawal took me just a couple of days, only thing i did was to sign the Quilter form. Next step Bank Lawyer!
21st Nov i responded to relationshipmanagement@utmostgroup with policy nr and review
22 Nov Problem solved, recieved a phonecall from Utmost and we found out they had chased my bank with wrong email adress in one month
26 Nov I have today recived my money, but really frustrating with all documents and certifyings

The worst experience I have ever…
The worst experience I have ever encountered from any professional organisation. Been trying for over a month to surrender a policy. For certifying their withdrawal form, for proof of address states they accept utility bills, submitted Thames Water, wouldn’t accept. Sent driving license as proof address. They then state they do not accept the certifier. Again withdrawal form states they accept civil servant. Gave a civil servant with govt email address and govt address? Not sure what else I can do. Can never speak to anyone in a team even though their emails always say give me a call to discuss and kept on hold for ridiculous amount of time.

Dreadful
Dreadful. High fees, poor performance and absolutely woeful customer service - slow, unnecessarily complex administration and just unhelpful, some of the worst I have ever come across. Avoid.

It’s taking 2 weeks for you to communicate back each time.
It started several weeks ago with warning letters about withdrawal.
I sent all relevant signed forms back by post which cost over £7 to make sure that they arrived.
All I want is to buy a new Porsche 911.
