Booked a one night stay nearby an airport for a long layover flight connection I have coming up, trying to keep it as cheap as possible being only a few hours.
I mistakenly entered the wrong check in date, and the transaction went through before I was able to close the page.
I immediately flagged to customer service, and the representative pretended to try help by calling the hotel, which have no say on this matters when booked though third party, and then suggested a paid the full price again to make a new booking.
while i understand this was my fault, I'm sure they could have been more decent and actually helped, considering the issue was raised 2 minutes within making the booking.

Er lige returneret efter en måned i USA, hvor jeg havde booket de 16 overnatninger via Hotels.com. Alt har fungeret upåklageligt. Jeg kunne nemt booke min bonus-overnatning og havde overhovedet ingen problemer, da jeg fik behov for at afbestille og ombooke en overnatning, selv om det skete i 11 time!

Vi var to familier som booket samtidig to rom hver på Conwell hotell i København . Vi hadde betalt mer enn den andre familien. Til tross for dette fikk vi mindre rom, ingen vannkoker på rommet og uten frokost. Vi trodde vi hadde bestilt med frokost. Har aldri opplevd dette før. Den andre familien fikk med frokost og kaffe, te på rommet. Har blitt fortalt at dette skyldes at Hotels.com hele tiden endrer vilkår og priser mens en bestiller. Følte oss lurt

i booked a non refund hotel in Antalya - Turkey, befor going to the hotel i call them they answer no room available i tell them i booked already with hotels.com
they said no room and hang out, i try to call them 3 times they didn't even try to listening, then i call the hotels.com they never answer me, they only replay my email and said they will not refund me because the booking are non refundable, they even don't want to understand at least call the hotel but they do nothing. bad experince and bad support, i didn't recomend this site for booking hotels, i also advice my friends not to book with them.

Había reservado en octubre un hotel en Egipto para junio 2023 y al escribirlesfaltando 15 días para hacer una petición me entero que la reserva había sido cancelada.
Llamé a atención al cliente y me decían que estaba ok.
Muy incierto todo, decía que estaba hecha por eDreams, Odigeo pero la atención telefónica no era de ellos, los mail de confirmación direcciones raras.
Final, como todavía estaba en periodo de cancelación gratuita me he curado en salud y he pedido la devolución, por suerte se me reintegró a los 2 días, pero tuve que comprar en El C. I. y me ha salido algo más caro.

A loyal customer left out of pocket for their mistake
I've used Hotel.com for many years, at least a decade, for both business and pleasure. Though they were not always the cheapest, I took advantage of their loyalty system.
I then booked 2 rooms in a Scottish Hotel. Changed my mind within a few days due to travel plans and cancelled using their online system. I received notification that it was cancelled (and it shows it on my receipt).
For weeks later, it still appeared on my 'active' bookings and I chatted with their chatbot who assured me it was cancelled. I then called them later on as it was still appearing days later and they assured me on the phone it was cancelled.
However, come the date of the cancelled booking, the hotel has taken the payment of one of the rooms. It seems Hotel.com cancelled only one room, not two.
When pointing this out and showing them evidence of my cancellation, Hotel.com has washed all hand of it and said it was up to the Hotel to refund. I even offered them the option of a credit not a refund as I would bound to use it this year. Generous of me I believe!
I called the Hotel and low and behold they are saying this is Hotel.com's fault and are not keen to refund (I am in further discussions with them with the threat of getting my Credit Card company involved).
So, it's definitely not my fault, yet I am out of pocket for something I legitimatally cancelled. I am aware mistakes and technical glitches occur but the fact they Hotel.com has dismissed their mistake out of hand and left it up to me to deal with or be out of pocket has led me to post this review (and others) and move all my bookings over to Bookings.com (Expedia are part of the same group).
Poor show Hotel.com. Own your mistakes, don't fob a loyal customer off. You have lost a very loyal customer for the sake of a little over £100.

ALWAYS CHECK NON MEMBER PRICES. I have been a member for a while trusting I was getting the best rate. I’ve just checked a non member price for a hotel and it’s £95, yet the member price is £113 for the exact same booking!
So, all that is happening is that you pay a premium to contribute to your 10th so called free booking!

There customer service is horrible and appalling!
We went to customer service for assistance on a refund. It was agreed by the agent and by the hotel. I followed up with the refund after the hotel we stayed at informed me that I would need to speak to Hotels.com.
During the chat I was told that nothing could be done. Because I paid at the hotel they couldn't help. And that I would need to take it up with the hotel.
The agent said "Just to inform you should have reached them via phone for a better resolution-" which is absolutely disgusting and disrespectful! There was no evidence to show that I hadn't contacted them by phone during the period when I initial requested a refund and my follow up with hotels.com! They assumed I hadn't spoken to the hotel. I had and was asked to speak to Hotels.com.
This company offers no support. You would be better off booking directly with the hotel. This company is an unnecessary middle man. I WILL NEVER USE HOTELS.COM AGAIN.

I booked a hotel in liverpool on the 22nd April received confirmation email of my reservation when I got to the hotel I was told I had no reservation so I had to pay 100 pound for a taxi home to preston as the trains had finished running
Stay away from hotels.com
Booked a room in Budapest through hotel.com and the payment terms were very unclear as it at the same time clearly stated the fee was to be paid in EUR, but at the same stated it had to be paid in local currency (which is obviously not EUR).
The hotel then claimed they should charge in local HUF using their own rate (a 3% mark-up to the official rate), and we ended up having to pay 5-6% more than hotel.com actually showed us in our local Danish currency when booking.
Why don't Hotels.com show the rate in HUF if that is what you are going to pay at the end of the day, instead if pseudo-rated in EUR or DKK when you never see those.
Only help you can get is by calling them, and sit in long queues.

I became sick while in Boracay, Philippines. prior to that, I booked the Boracay Haven, a nice hotel with Hotels.com. Upon getting ill, I called the hotel and canceled as I could not move from the hotel I was in. The Boracay Haven Manager told me they would have returned my money had I booked directly with them (at a better price than I received with Hotels.com!!), but BECAUSE i BOOKED WITH HOTELS.COM, THEY COULD NOT RETURN MY MONEY!! (They did admit that they would sell the room to another guest.) Upon returning home, I tried to get a refund from Hotels.com. 3 different agents (Marlon, Rhanz and Nika) gave me the runaround, promising with 3 days to contact me. None did. The hotel made TWICE the money on that unit for that week, and Hotels.com will not grant a refund, despite the documented illness. NEVER USE HOTELS.COM. You can get better prices and better service by booking direct with the hotels. There is NO GOOD REASON to use HOTELS.COM. None.

Big con! Wanted to amend my booking eg reduce from a 4 to 3 night stay which according to my booking was permissible. They wanted to know why I was reducing my stay (none of their business) and then they told me they would have to cancel my whole booking and then rebook which could cost more. It’s all a big con so that they keep the money. The virtual chat is appalling service . Three times I had to speak to an agent but each time they miraculously disappeared before completing my change.

Jeg sender alt dokumentation som de beder om men får svar tilbage at de IKKE kan finde samme tilbud som jeg har fundet og de i øvrigt ikke acceptere skærmprint og billeder. Hotel.com matcher kun prisen hvis de selv kan finde den og hvor tit sker det? Jeg blev belært om cookies på nettet og andre årsager til at de måtte give mig et afslag på prismatch. Jeg undre mig og spørger så hvordan skal man som kunde så bevise en prisforskel og få penge retur???? Jeg agter ikke længere at bruge Hotel.com.
