I am flabbergasted by the Customer…
I am flabbergasted by the Customer Service experience with Hilton - I don't even think that the customer service representative that I spoke to spoke full English - she simply just kept saying "yes, yes, yes" for the majority of the conversation.
I performed a website search on Google, and then went directly from google to the hotel website. The booking then seemed to fall back a day. I changed the dates again and then when i confirmed the booking it went back to the previous day. As i selected the "best rate" and it was classed as non-refundable, then I am now no longer able to change the date and will lose £578.00 (4 rooms for 2 nights).
How can they get away with this?
Poor standers from the London Hilton On Park Lane
London Hilton On Park Lane - I encountered the recruitment team as highly impolite, lacking professionalism, and exhibiting discriminatory behaviour. The managers displayed rudeness, dismissiveness, and a notable absence of empathy towards the staff.

I've had two of the worst hotel experiences of my life at Hilton
I've had two of the worst hotel experiences I've had to date in my life. Recently, I stayed at The Fives Downtown Hotel in Playa del Carmen. We arrived around 6:30 pm after checking in on the app earlier in the day. We were given a room on the fourth floor which is apparently right beneath the rooftop. From the time we arrived until about 12:30/12:45 am there was loud stomping, carts rolling, running.
We called several times only to be told there was a private event that would end at 11:30 and the hotel was full so we could not be placed in another room. The stomping or hard walking or whatever it was didn't end when the party ended. It continued until well past midnight. The final time I went downstairs, the reservation desk attendant, Pedro was very dismissive and said no one was up there, as if I made it up. Like someone would willingly get out of bed at 12:45 am just for no reason. Not one person seemed apologetic or empathetic about the inconvenience.
This is the second time I've received horrible service at a Hilton and hopefully the last time I will stay at one. I do not plan to ever stay at another Hilton after this experience. To say it was disappointing is an understatement. To pay good money to sleep at a nice hotel and not be able to sleep and only treated dismissively is completely unacceptable.
The other experience involved a racist front desk attendant. I filed a complaint with Hilton to which they logged the incident, gave me a case number and then never responded. After 8 weeks of nothing, I called the corporate number and got a bunch of apologies that the manager was supposed to reach out (never did). Then they had the manager send a note saying they don't tolerate that type of behavior. But again never reached out directly or called. And at this point, a paragraph that someone made you send two months later is just not going to cut it. The corporate person who ended up keeping me updated after I called was actually very nice but the whole experience was disappointing and unnecessary.
What an experience
Booked as a last minute thing to Hilton hotel Newcastle Gateshead. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely member of staff at reception, she was very helpful, polite and informative. We were given all the information needed, we went up to check the room out and it was beautiful nice and clean with beautiful river side views. We then went back down to park the car in the underground car park and collect our bag. We noticed on route back up how clean and fragrant everything was from the reception area to the lifts to the hall ways to the room unfortunately we didn't get to see the restaurant as not a big breakfast fan but heard a few other guests comment how nice it was and the food was delicious. We then went down to the pool area staff member in the gym was nice and polite and helpful, changing rooms were lovely and clean, pool and jacuzzi area were nice and clean, water temperature was lovely and warm steam and sauna room were perfect when finished I felt so refreshed and relaxed. The following morning I popped downstairs and crossed paths with some of the cleaning staff who where very friendly and said good morning etc with a genuine smile on there faces as they worked. All in all I've had an amazing experience at this hotel and would recommend 100%. I'll definitely be coming back again thank you so much to all the staff for such a pleasant stay your a credit to the company
Parking fine rip off
Had a business meeting at Double Tree in Abingdon. Used the bar/restaurant, bought drinks etc. Got a parking ticket for £100 as apparently it's a pay car park charging £10 per day. I didn't realise it was a pay car park at the hotel and Parkingeye who manage it were unsympathetic. I gave them proof of my expenditure at the hotel but they didn't care. Usual British parking rip off.
I had to cancel a booking
I had to cancel a booking for Airport Stay and Parking at Hilton T5. Our cruise was cancelled due to Houthi activity in the Red Sea so our airport parking was no longer usable. Our booking was a "Saver" booking made via the Holiday Extras website - the booking being non-refundable if cancelled. I knew this when booking and was resolved to losing approx £200. However, I had also made a pre-booking for an evening meal and breakfast for myself and my partner. I reached out to the Customer Complaints team at Holiday extras to ask if the pre-booked meal could be refunded.
A quick sympathetic reply explained that the booking wasn't refundable but they took it on themselves to intercede on my behalf to the team at Hilton Hotels to see if they might consider a partial refund of the pre-booked meal portion of the payment on a goodwill basis.
Within a few minutes they contacted me to say she had secured a refund; not just for the meal but the whole booking! Wow.
Customer service means something real with Hilton T5 and Holiday extras. A genuine attempt was successfully made to resolve a situation which, to be fair, was no one else's fault. It would have been fair for them to have explained that Saver bookings are discounted because they can not be amended, and I would have begrudgingly accepted.
Thank you Hilton T5 for being so considerate and putting the customer experience first.
So I stayed at Hilton Edgware Road…
So I stayed at Hilton Edgware Road 12.2.24 ..the 2nd time staying there through no choice of my own as I walked out during the 1st experience.
Well the company who had booked my stay paid for dinner for two including breakfast package..the hotel took a £1charge off my debit card to secure identification..in the evening I checked my bank only to see £50 deducted from my card..I immediately called reception after alot of back and forth they said they would return the payment as dinner WAS INCLUDED on my booking. To my horror they not only did not refund me but deducted another £50.75..I was fuming to say the least.at 11.30pm got dressed and went down to reception as they did not respond to the phone call..the manager who reeked of stale ciggerette smoke stated they had refunded me the first 50 and said there was no other money taken out..I showed him my bank transactions and he had no reasoning but to ask me to wait until after midnight..needless to say no refund was shown until 6am..I also had to borrow money to pay a direct debit as the Hilton metropolitan left me in minus.
In the morning yet two more managers dithering about..finally admitting their wrong..I called back the bank and was told they had set up a reoccurring payment..THIS IS FRAUD. THEY DID NOT HAVE MY PERMISSION. I asked them to take my card off their system. There was no sincerity from them ..I had no rest..there was no empathy it was business as usual for them. As a person with a disability who supports vulnerable adults ..I feel that I have been financially abused.
This was a very anxious time especially in this climate where there is a cost of living crisis. I could not even buy my granddaughter a cake as they left me in minus.
No offer of compensation or a good will gesture.
HILTON METROPOLITAN EDGWARE ROAD ITS A NO FROM ME.
Also BTW I'd walked out last time because the room smelt of mould n mildew which set off my Asthma. Very poor communication between staff and management..unfortunately like alot of corporate businesses MONEY ORRIENTATED. I doubt they could even consider how this affected my mental state. Also I had to cancel work. Now having to wait until the payment clears. I feel sick to my stomach. A horrible horrible stay.
Charged double the cost for drinks
Bar staff member charged us double the price for drinks served in a smaller sized glass amount than was shown on menu as we were sitting outside by pool. When questioned the bar staff member would not accept that they were incorrect in doing this until we insisted it was corrected.
Not sure if Portugal have the same weights and measures rules as the uk do but if they do they should be looked into.
Hilton in Bournemouth wow I tried to…
Hilton in Bournemouth wow I tried to call them 3 times and they kept me on hold all 3 times for 10 minutes each I was just phoning to ask about an enquiry in the end I went somewhere else I got stuff to do can’t be wasting my time calling them. Poor poor poor service.
Hilton Barbados awful
Hilton Barbados. One star. Asked for early check in. Told us room almost ready and forgot about us until we came back hours later. Lobby staff sat around and chatted while my 12yo and I struggled with 4 suitcases to our room. They did not even offer to help room service food tasted like salt dumped on it. I paid for an ocean view and double full beds. Got to see the ocean out of a picture window at the top of the wall. My room actually overlooked the parking lot. We were given a king bed. At night the fire alarm had strobing lights that shown right into our eyes. Awful experience. Paid almost $600 for one night of this.
The rooms do not have heating
If the weather is cold, do not stay in this hotel.
I recently stayed in this hotel for business and gave the heating three hours to warm up, before giving up and deciding to drive all the way home again 4 hours away.
The saga goes like this.
On Tuesday 16th January I checked into the Hampton by Hilton
The first issue I was told the room was on the second floor, and then looked at the room key, it said third floor, went to third floor, key didn't work. Went down to reception, the wrong number had been written on the card.
Went to the right room 202, the room was cold, I attempted to turn on the heating (at it was the coldest night of the year), nothing happened. The heating didn't work.
I have stayed at this hotel many times as it is the closest hotel to my head office. On many occasions I have had to ring down to reception and ask for the heating to be reset, when this happens it then usually resets to 28 degrees and then starts to work.
However, last night when the receptionist FINALLY answered the phone and I asked for the heating to be reset, the receptionist said that this would be done.
15 minutes later, I rang again (AGAIN it took an age for anyone to answer) and was told she was waiting for the manager to reset it.
15 minutes later, I went down to reception myself and asked to speak to the manager, at that point she reset the heating. But upon return to the room it hadn't reset.
I rang the manager and she said she would come to the room to investigate. She confirmed what I already knew ...... the heating wasn't working!
She said she would find another room for me. 15 minutes later she returned and moved me to the other end of the hotel. She said don't worry the heating has been switched on in this room. Upon arrival in the room, it was cold, I was asked to wait and eventually it would warm up.
It was clear from the heating controls that the heating wasn't working and was doing exactly the same as the other room.
At that point, I decided to return home, some 4 hours drive away, rather than stay in a cold hotel.
The hotel is clearly not fit for purpose if it cannot heat the rooms in winter.
Charged £62 for ringing the Hilton…
Charged £62 for ringing the Hilton helpline for a short phone call. They redirected me to a sales department in the USA who went through a hard sell. They have lost a loyal customer.

Australian Hilton Hotels BE WARNED they charge you 2% to pay by card any card: From their website it reads: Under our policies you will find: Credit Card payments relating to Australian hotels incur a merchant service fee of 2% in addition to the total amount payable.

Nice but has its downsides
Booked in for new year’s eve and it was lovely. Quick and easy to check in and was clearly directed where to go. The only thing that let me down was the fact i paid an extra £20-£30 for a double bed but got 2 singles pushed together so the mattresses kept slipping apart.
My stay at Double Tree by Hilton…
My stay at Double Tree by Hilton Bristol South Cadbury House was disappointing for the night of December 29th 2023.
My room had no remote control for the wall screen TV and there was black slime hanging off the bathroom taps. The receptionist on afternoon duty referred to me as her 'lovely' and wanted to know if she could join me for a cocktail 🤣.
In general Hilton Hotels UK are good properties and helpful to guests. On this occasion I felt humiliated and undervalued as an Honours member.
The breakfasts in England are overcooked and left standing before serving in an attempt to provide a full English breakfast experience. They woul do better focusing on offering a Continental alternative which meets a much higher standard.
Untrustworthy, Unapologetic and Deplorable!
I’m a Hilton Honour Reward scheme member and regular customer. Despite this I have been chasing a return of a £200.00 deposit now for 14 days plus for the London Hilton Metropole. I have emailed and called, chased and I’m still getting no response. The fact that a £200 deposit is required for a night stay costing £312.00 is in it self unreasonable but then to hold onto funds for more than two weeks. How May people fail to check if their deposit has been returned ???. I have totally lost trust in the Hilton Group. I would advise people to be cautious when paying deposits and check they are returned and take the number of a Manger before you leave. Funnily enough no direct contact details for the specific Hilton are provided on the website. Shame on you Hilton see you in small claims Court! H.
They don't care about their customers
I wrote a while back when Hilton Garden in Tours retained £609.45 and wouldn't refund anything even though I gave plenty of notice. I booked on 30th June @11:40 and cancelled the same day due to the riots in France, for a booking for 6th July. Unlike the Waldorf Astoria who retained one nights stay they refused to return anything or provide vouchers. I have escalated this issue (case # 174020487) since July and finally escalated to their CEO Christopher Nassette last month but no response. They don't care about customers at all and reading the other reviews it is clear this brand that has lost its way. I wonder if Cathy Hilton even cares that Hilton no longer is a brand to trust. We will be voting with our feet and never choosing Hilton.
Hampton Inn by Hilton NYC, Times Square
They did not have 2 out of the 3 rooms we reserved upon arrival after 15 hrs of travelling with a party if 12, tried moving us hotels, but we refused and miraculously the rooms became available?!
This hotel hotel then billed us nearly $2000 after we checked out and returned to the UK, over 5 separate card transactions and we can’t understand why?! Customer service is appalling. The hotel deny making the charges and we can’t get the money back. No one at Hilton will help and looks like we now need to get legal advice. We are absolutely gutted. Worst holiday experience of our lives.
Worst nights stay in a long time people…
Worst nights stay in a long time people up all night, making noises and had no sleep will never sleep in this hotel again
