My partner and I attended the Melbourne Showroom on the 31st August'25. Just to relay it was a horrible experience is an understatement.

As soon as we entered, the staff member was still on their laptop and we were literally standing there in front of them. No acknowledgment of us for at least a minute, didn't seem interested nor smiled or any self- introduction.

They then proceeded to ask what we were looking for, in which I replied an engagement ring, possibly a lab-type round brilliant diamond ring. We then had to wait 3 minutes whilst they were finding some samples.

Then, the samples were shown and it was pretty much self-serve. Not once were we asked our names nor any expertise was provided. You would think that for an engagement ring, you would at least expect it to be a wonderful and guiding experience. Otherwise, we might as well shop online. The staff member did not seem engaged or interested at all.

Furthermore, no questions asked as to when we'll need the ring by or when's the special day. You would expect some rapport building and discovery questions, as well as connecting with your customers. This is purely transactional.

Luckily, I did some research online and understand a bit around specific terms like clarity etc. But that's not the point. It's about a good customer experience, seeing value and this is far from it.

After trying on some rings and towards the end, the staff member then asked for my contact details so they could forward the quotes over. I was happy to receive the quotes, but my partner and I had pretty much made up our minds at that time.

To add to that, if more questions were asked, perhaps you would realise that we are also looking at wedding bands. Even when we left the store, the staff member still didn't know my partner's name nor when we needed the ring by.

I've received three follow-up emails about the quote and whether I wanted to proceed. Obviously, I've gone ahead and proceeded with another supplier whom actually provided the customer experience I was looking for. So there were a few chances to ask additional questions, which were completely overlooked from the outset.

I've replied to let them know I've gone elsewhere. From there, I received another 4th email today (12th September'25) to advise that a price match can be made. But what's blown it out of the water is the fact that the name listed in the email was completely another person's name. Just shows how much attention was paid to us. I definitely won't consider GS Diamonds again nor recommend it at all.

GS had really good contact and was able to answer all of my questions. I was so amazed with the ring I received (Cara setting with 1ct vs1 stone) that I spent a couple of days just staring at how gorgeous it was! Fantastic crafting of the ring and the stone radiates such amazing brightness and colors, and the best part was that she said yes! So now I get to look at it all the time :)

Got 3 rings from them. Wife's happy but mine was offloaded to another company, wasn't communicated that it broke during the resizing and took over 1 month after only receiving mine for a week. Communications and fixes were slow with no compensation

From first contact to current status I couldn’t be more thrilled with the ease of service and level of care that I have been given by Maria.

I first made contact via the online chat asking if there was a possibility I could have a ring I had seen on another site done in a lower carat gold and with a few minor adjustments made and after a brief conversation Maria was able to fully understand what I wanted and within 48 hours I had a quote, not only was that quote extremely prompt but even with my picky requests the team were able to keep the ring under my budget. Amazing!

After my partner and I had paid the deposit it was mere days before we received our CAD renderings and they were perfect, the production team even included a few small details I hadn’t thought about that will ensure the security of my stone and integrity of the design.

Although my ring is still in the production phase I am confident that with the communication and expertise I have witness so far from Maria and the GS Diamonds team my ring will be everything I’ve ever dreamed of.

I was dealing with Lyndsey for my engagement ring and I have to say, it was probably one of the easiest, smoothest and quickest transactions I’ve ever made.

Communication was on point, they helped me with any queries I had and was a pro at handling my indecisiveness.

The best part? The ring is BEAUTIFUL, it’s exactly what I wanted and it was all done online and shipped to me, took me all of around 2 months collectively deciding, creating and shipping the ring.

Their website is very easy to use. They are open up front and honest about what the price of a piece of jewellery or gemstone will cost. (Unlike most other places where the price is a big secret they are unwilling to share with you until you have all but committed to buying)
