Cannot even listen live to a station without an account.

They already play adverts on the stations, but they perhaps want an account to collect data on you so they can tailor the adverts and get more money per advert play. If it's just to "better your experience", then surely I can put up with a worse one if I so choose? Data data data...

If I ever want to listen to a Global Radio station I either use DAB or a third party online site where it works (for much longer?).

Really poor and sadly shows what has become of the UK radio industry compared to other countries.

Global are not interested in audience feedback. Large numbers of Classic FM listeners have pointed to the massive, repetitive irritation of Cash Call to no effect. Their Newsagent podcast in Spotify means you have to take Sports agent as well. Luckily, we listeners can opt for alternatives .....

Love listening to Jamie and Amanda in the mornings, they always make my days start with a giggle, easily five stars…..but….. my issue is with the behind the scenes customer service who took my money straightaway, then there was a delay with my purchase, no update - nothing - I had to ask where my purchase was, only then I’m told there’s a delay. They constantly called me a different name, I corrected them numerous times, their last email simply said “Thank you then wrong name” AGAIN, I felt this was by then a joke to them, I believe they knew they were calling me by the wrong name. I never did receive my order so I cancelled it, took weeks to get a refund! Disrespectful, they just didn’t care.

‘Classic FM’: Somewhere among the inane chatter from presenters, relentless ‘cash calls’ tepetitive reminders that ‘this is Classic FM’ and intrusive advertising there is some mostly unadventurous music from a limited playlist. Worst of all are the ‘cash calls’ (‘that’s c.a.s.h’ - spelling out the word is so irritating, treating listeners as idiots).

Would love to know how many midlands and up north from there it seems an awful lot. Down south apply also but mainly ignored

Constant encouragement/mentioning of competitions and gambling, the presenters talk more about this than the music sadly.

I'm an avid supporter of sharing large prizes wether the National Lottery...Euro Lottery and Radio money winning competitions which are INVADING our radio stations now..in fact bombarded is the word..nearly every advert is preceded by these large amounts to be won by ONE PERSON ONLY.
For EXAMPLE. GLOBAL which has Classic Fm and Smooth etc.
ABSOLUTELY SICK and TIRED of hearing this CRAP/GARBAGE of ONE PERSON ONLY can win. And its ABSOLUTELY LUDICROUS.
IT SHOULD BE STOPPED.. I blame the SAD PUBLIC SHEEP dreaming...brits are very charitable but very thick and greedy.
They just don't get it..YOUR CHANCES of WINNING are so REMOTE
AS YOUR CHARITABLE YOU BRITS..GET MORE SATISFACTION..GIVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY TO A DECENT CAUSE.
NOW! for EXAMPLE...these large amounts are SHARED..say £400,000 on offer or even more. as its been..and the LOTTERY exactly the same with MILLIONS.
SHARE SHARE..EG..£400,000 WOULD MAKE X4 £100,000 WINNERS.
These LUDICROUS MILLIONS GOING to ONE PERSON..Ive seen £90 million to one person..COULD HAVE MADE 90 .MILLIONAIRES..JUST DRAW OUT MORE NUMBERS..ITS VERY SIMPLE In all the cases.
NOW JUST READ GLOBAL T&Cs.I have..
well I wouldn't touch that company with a BARGEPOLE..give your life away in.post publicly..you have to agree to video call then or recorded..give all your privacy rights away.
YOUR BE INVADED..these companies sell your info and contact details to whoever..advertisers..INVADED you won't believe by strangers,..odd calls, texts, scam and spam numbers..your just wana throw your mobile away.
PLEASE DEMAND SHARED PRIZES..ALSO DEMAND NO PUBLICITY LIKE THE NATIONAL LOTTERY.
Ask yourself..why would they want all this ive mentioned..more profits indirectly..their not doing this for YOU..YOU ARE PAYING..ask them much their taking..against how much their giving away YOUR MONEY..ASK THE GOVERNMENT TO INSIST THE FIGURES ARE OUT IN THE OPEN FOR ALL TO VIEW.

Often difficult to navigate. Lots of error messages. Stations, podcasts and catch-ups just suddenly stop or buffer

Makes me wonder who actually designs these apps? Do they actually use them? Probably not.. I now it’s free! But cmon!!

Have used this app for many years and it's getting worse and worse if I am in a low signal area or have no Wi-Fi it takes over my phone and turns off I physically have to turn the phone on and off again for it to start working and take global player off please can you sort this out as it's been going on for years and years and as you can see by the messages left here the it in global player are not doing anything to help I have a video on what my phone does if you email my email address I can send you videos

Dreadful app. Unless you are in perfect 5G or WiFi reception, it constantly buffers or randomly stops. Despite what idiot fan-boys like Chris Moyles say, it’s utter rubbish.

The sound quality on the app when using catch up has become difficult to listen to, always catch up Nick Abbott and this weekend sound was terrible can this be fixed for this weekend shows so the experience is not disappointing

Frustrating Global Player not allowing catchup to be turned off, so when launching the app catchup starts were you left off.

Every time I tune in to classic FM or Magic Classical on my Alexa it pings my Alexa app asking for me to link my account or accept marketing adds.
A few weeks ago it was just Magic Classical so I tuned into Classic FM.
Now both channels have their presenters advising you to link your account. Both channels ping my Alexa app.
My wife selects these channels and it pings my app.
In the end I stared to go through the process on my Alexa app but I abandoned it as it was time consuming and frankly the data it was asking me to put in was invasive. I’m probably going to go back to the BBC radio stations. I read that radio 3 has lightened their content so I’ll give it a go.
It’s a shame because I rather like Charles on Magic Classical

Regarding App - Horrible degradation of quality with recent update.

I am usually completely fine with everything IT, web, podcasts etc but this recent update must have been done by a brain dead or washed group of designers, who decided to HIDE or remove every single function that lets ppl catch up with content.

Uninstall app or do it the neanderthal way: go to the website and find catchup functions there, and hope you manage connection of app to/from website.

The most terrible update of any app I have and likely will ever witness.

You need to ditch the new app it's horrendous

I use the web version of Global Player. I have an account but it's becoming nearly impossible to listen to any radio station. Initially I thought it was my WIFI but no. It's constantly stopping. I keep refreshing, it's paying for a few minutes and then silence. Like the other reviewers I disabled my adds cookies blockers etc and still a poor experience. I learn they have an app as well which performs the same. Just do something about your service Global Player.

The updates App is horrendous. I cannot find podcasts easily, I can not rewind a podcast if I have missed a bit. It was so easy to use before. I used to listen all the time. I am going to have to find a new provider as to be honest it is the worst App experience I have had for a long time. I was hoping you would update it for the better but it is so bad.
