A racketeering, price fixing cartel.

Just been scammed at Ramsbottom garage advertised diesel at £184.9 upon fuelling I noticed pump price of £199.9. When I explained to the cashier it was illegal he just shrugged his shoulders.Avoid these rip off merchants.

The manager whom refused to give his name made totally discriminatory remarks in the way of racial stereotyping and tried to prove a point however not only did he come across a total fool he forgets he’s not a English native himself so maybe he must be really confused! His problem now will be how to explain such blatant racism
And also how does this company train its staff springs to mind! And for this company this isn’t being left!
There has to be accountability!

EG's new Shell fuel station in Haddington, East Lothian hasn't been open that long, so to-date I've only fuelled-up on five occasions. On three of those occasions the same cashier has attempted to short-change me by £1.00 to £1.50 (a different cashier served me on the other two visits). When his error is pointed out to him, he apologises and hands over the remaining change due.... funnily enough without having to check what he actually gave in the first place. That tells me very clearly that he's attempting to skim off the top.
I won't be giving EG Group's Shell forecourt on West Rd, Haddington my business again and will be going somewhere else where I don't need to deal with a thief!

Petrol Station at Tamworth Services
I am a truck driver and had stopped to re-fuel my truck using my UK Fuel Card, put the maximum in the card would allow. But when I went in to pay I was told by Steven the forecourt manager that my card would not accept the amount, when I suggested that he could put it through into two payments as many other petrol stations have done for me in the past, he became very rude, aggressive and refusing to help in any way, and even when my boss spoke to him on the phone he was arrogant and obnoxious. No matter what solution I came up with he refused to use it, this cost me an hour of my time to get it sorted. I have been driving for a living for 40 years and this was the worst customer service experience I have ever had and will not be using EG ever again. I would rather run out of fuel.

Dear Sirs,

I am a regular customer and buy my breakfast and dinner regularly at your "Greggs" brand shop. I wish to make complaint on 13th October, I purchased breakfast and dinner at 10.59am. I then sat down to eat the food, I had purchased in your seating area and left at 12.46 according to the parking management company for which I have been charged £100.00 for parking outside your shop.

I am extremely upset of being charged for £100.00 to purchase food from your shop and will not be entering these premises again but will take my custom elsewhere. I have never known a shop charge you for parking, when purchasing items from the shop. Clearly, this policy is designed to drive customers away from your business. I await your comments

Absolute rip off prices for fuel, only go in if you are absolutely desperate. Won’t ever be back.

I received a ‘drive off’ notice accusing me of not paying for my diesel (£50.49), 2 weeks after my visit. At first I thought the letter was a scam and ignored it. Another letter followed, increasing the owed “payment” by another £60. I looked at my bank statements and couldn’t find a payment of that amount so assumed something strange had happened. I went to see the manager. He told me he “remembered seeing me coming into the shop on the CCTV”. (Therefore I had not driven off without intending to pay!) Apparently I had bought something else, paid with my phone and walked out. At that point I was thinking, ‘I didn’t “drive off without intending to pay” so we discussed the issue and the manager said it must have been a “cashier error” (apparently not charging me for the fuel, only the small items). I therefore believed that there had been a mistake so I paid the requested amount £50.49 which I supposedly had not paid. The manager said he would contact the VARS company and tell them the case now needed to be closed etc. HOWEVER,
I continued to get letters, this time from a bullying debt collecting company, 2 so far. The fine had now gone up to £170. I called the debt company and they said “you need to get legal advice” !!!. This was becoming absolutely ridiculous, I couldn’t believe what was going on.
I checked my bank statement again and realised that I HAD paid the garage INITIALLY, but because the sum was different (£50.21) I didn’t think it was the same time, and also the date of my transaction and the date of the withdrawal of funds from my a/c are on different days. Anyway, I go back to the garage manager and say “You’ve wrongly accused me of driving off without intending to pay. You actually OWE ME now!!!” He tried calling The EG Group head office but couldn’t get through!!! He gave me the number and I left thinking I could get hold of them and it will be sorted easily. Nope. After making numerous calls, 20-30, and getting numerous dead ends, I was eventually told I needed to speak to ‘Operations Team’. I called OT, no one was answering yet again and no one returned my call after I left a message. This company’s customer service (even for their own staff too) is ABSOLUTELY APPALLING!!!
So, at the moment, they owe me £50.49!!! AND A RATHER BIG APOLOGY. This issue can obviously affect my Excellent credit score and I could potentially get a CCJ!! I’m furious!! It is now October 29th 2022 and still not sorted.

BEWARE OF THE PARKING SCAM THEY RUN - 45 minutes maximum stay, or £100 fine.

Absolute charlatans and scam artists. What kind of special must you be to actually decide to put 5 different stores under 1 roof and expect any normal person to possibly visit all 5 and get out within 45 minutes?

I suggest everyone should boycott all of their establishments, until the parking times are extended in line with normal businesses and offer 2hr free parking.

Colsterworth garage on the A1 is with out doubt the most disgustingly filthy place I have ever visited I can’t explain just how revoltingly vile it was if I wasn’t absolutely desperate for fuel I would not have stopped and I wore gloves the whole time I most definitely would not have purchased and snack food or drink there

Feering site..toilets filthy as always and the Greggs.and Burger King areas not much better. Should be closed down..

Once again the first sign of a fuel increase Euro Garages whack the prices up. No consideration for the public, all they care about is lining there pockets.DISGRACEFUL

Pros:
None. No staff discount, No friends at work.
No merit or skill set needed to become a store manager. Just be a clown entertainer to customers and be available full time 24/7 till your last breath

Cons:
1. The area manager Barry will make you cry by his obnoxious treatment.
2. toxic work culture absolutely.
3. Bullying and backstabbing is common and there are no consequences.
4. The pay rate is lower than any retail industry.
5. you're employed as part time but you're expected to be available whenever they want to even cover overnight shifts.
6. No concept of paid 10 mints break at all, you're supposed to work behind the counter and be on foot every minute.
7. No lunch and dinner breaks. be ready to be passed out of dehydration.
8. No practical training to learn planograms and work in the forecourt.
9. if someone happened to stick around for over 2 years as ppt. you can do whatever even steal cigarettes and sell cigarettes to minors.
10. Alot of people are leaving this company soon after working few weeks

I had such great service today at the Starbucks café East Horndon on the A127! Unfortunately there was some very rude people who kept trying to come into the store when the store was closing for 1030 and they had to stop people coming in so they could finish on time people are very rude and coming sneaking in through the back door especially American lady. I think that they deal with a lot have bad customers who have no manners or respect for the fact that they have to close for a certain time I think they did amazing and I wanted to write this review as I know that they will probably get backlash from turning people away

Worked for this company and never will I do again the manager was a bully if she didn’t like you or you wasn’t sucking up to her she would get rid of you In my time there I saw over 10 staff leave and when I told the company they didn’t want to know also the team leader was stealing out of the till and the manager was covering for her

I live directly next door to a Esso station in Bognor Regis.i have been trying for 11 months now to get them to repair the boundary fenceline and cut the overgrown conifer hedge which is about 35ft high full of brambles encroaching into my garden also half the conifers are dead which is also a hazard they could fall down at any time ,also the light being blocked into my house by the height of the said trees,have had staff take pictures/videos and the promise of a resolution,but NOTHING ! have written to head office sent E Mails with no reply , Big company with bad attitude to a neighbour, even after 11 months

Starbucks Drive through store - Blyth (just off A1)

I visited the store last Saturday, nothing out of the ordinary, this store is usually a firm favourite of mine to visit but after this I will not be returning. I have spent some time thinking should I write this review or not - but I would rather folk are aware.

Whilst I was greeted with the usual friendly service of the young girls and boys working. The trouble only started when I was sat inside peacefully drinking my coffee. There seemed to be chatter among the staff members (which I do usually listen into and have a giggle to myself as I am usually alone) I clearly heard a worker had unfortunately rang in sick that day but the members of staff all had their own opinions on the matter, the general theme appeared that they thought the staff member was faking his sickness. I saw one of the girls, from my observations the shift leader, disappear into the back of the store on several occasions, it turns out she was using her mobile phone to call the poor member of staff over and over again and get them to come into work. Now, being in the catering and hospitality sector myself for a number of years previous, if the member of staff was indeed sick it could have been a number of things. In this case I overheard it was diarrhoea and vomiting. I could not believe what I witnessed - a clear potential breach of food safety and personal hygiene! Can you even begin to imagine if that member of staff actually went in! Uncalled for and completely unprofessional, I had heard enough, finished my cup of coffee and walked out of the store. Where is the manager? The shop is ran by kids who clearly need revision on food hygiene and safety. Disgusting. I feel sorry for the member of staff who was being harassed, whether they were sick or not. These things have to be taken seriously.
