Purchased electric vehicle from car city had a heater issue which was sorted, then 2 weeks later total electrics failiure.
They took car to specialists and a courtesy car was delivered to my house 50 miles away.Car was retained by them and money refunded. Mario also compensated me for journies travelled and dvla plate retention . Let me say, the service recieved was second to non and and would reccomend them for cars and service. Many thanks to Mario, Trevor and Amanda for all the help they gave me. Nice to know there are honest and trustworthy dealers out there who put customers first. Nice one. Mike Summerside.

I used we finance any car and they were great. I had a big car that I was gonna park exchange for a smaller car due to the mileage on my own car. I was given £4000 less for the car that I was part exchanging and obvious there’s gonna be wear and tear when I spoke to the finance company they told me at first, but once I go to the dealership test drive my car I can then contact them for the payment to be made. The payment was made instead before I arrived at the dealership and the finance company told me I could now go ahead and ensure the car because it’s now my car so I went ahead and paid a big lump sum deposit for a new insurance for the new car. When I turned up at the dealership they did not even take any notice of me and my mum standing there waiting to pick up a new car they were just focused on the car. I was taking there to part exchange and probably how much they’re gonna manage to make off of that car. They ignored we were there the owner of the company went straight towards my car started inspecting it put the car on a machine to see any fault. yes there was faults with the car which I was not aware of. I got the tyres changed but my car two months ago and I was told by this guy that all four tyres were gone I think seeing two women standing there he thought it’s right is a chance I can make more money I’m sorry but that’s all I could say. Yes there was scratches on my car and there was a crack in the back light and I explained to him. Yes that’s the reason why they have taken £4000 off of my car rights and now I’ve got an extra £4000 to pay on the New finance. Well he asked for an extra 700 there and then or he could split it up and I can pay it within 30 days not even asking whether that person has got the money I said why on earth was the new Car paid for by the finance company without me coming and I was told to make the Insurance he didn’t care he was just bothered about making more money anyway he reduced the 700 to 500 and we paid there and then there was a scratch on the new Car. His helper came along with a paintbrush and literally dubbed a blob of paint onto my new car and sent me off like that didn’t say anything to me until I asked him why am I not even offered a test drive? We went for a five minute test drive came back the man quickly ran to the car that I’m part exchanging got back in it and was busy probably evaluating that Car I asked him everything about the car because the car was electric on the two minute drive. I said can we charge it at home, etc he said the charger is in the boot you cut it up as well that was the only conversation we had literally couple minutes while I test drive came back went and made the payment. Got my paperwork leaving there. No one even said thank you for your purchase any sort of attention nothing absolutely nothing they didn’t even want to talk to us. Me and my mum jumped in the car drove home. I had 30 miles on my car. The car was not even charged pathway so I went to charge my car because I had to be somewhere within an hour only to see the charger is not even in the car. I contacted the dealership. I said where is my charger? He said oh the charger is here. You never took it and I said I beg your pardon. It’s your duty to make sure a car is ready when someone comes to pick it up not only did you show no attention and no one was professional. I’m not gonna be inspecting the car when you told me the charger is in the boot it should be You that makes sure the car is in perfect condition before someone comes to pick it up. He told me then he’s on his way to the post office and he’s going to send it recorded delivery for me so I could receive it tomorrow morning so I don’t have to drive another hour to go and pick it up come 7 o’clock at night. I messaged him because he told me once it’s been sent he will send me the receipt for proof. I said where’s the receipt havent you sent my charger? He made up a load of rubbish saying that his worker went to the post office and waited 14 minutes bearing in mind it was around 5 o’clock in the evening or 4 o’clock in the evening when he went so it’s impossible to have a 40 minute wait in a post office at that time and he waited for me there for 40 minutes but unfortunately couldn’t send it so he’s gonna send it tomorrow morning, I’m sorry, but I have been part exchanging my vehicles for the last 23 years I never all my love about a deal left it so unprofessional. Do not bother bothered about their customers so absolutely rubbish at what they’re doing. The only thing they care about it’s making money in my opinion yes of course that’s their business. You have to worry about making your money but you have to also make sure that your customers are happy because he had already received the money from the finance company for my new car. He didn’t care less about his customer. he was just too focused on what he needs to do to the car that’s been part exchange to make money off of that in my opinion very bad never ever again.

My experience with Car City UK has been nothing short of exhausting and completely unacceptable.
I purchased a vehicle at the end of August, and what followed has been months of issues, delays, and poor handling. Faults were identified early on, and the vehicle was taken back for repairs multiple times. Despite being told that work had been completed, the car has now been returned to me with key repairs not done at all.
The bumper has not been repainted as agreed. The door has not been painted and appears to have simply been polished over. I also have serious concerns that some of the mechanical work they claim to have carried out may not have been done.
To make matters worse, the vehicle has been returned in a worse condition internally, with oil left on the mats and carpets. After months of back and forth, this is completely unacceptable.
Communication throughout has been poor and reactive. I have had to chase constantly, been given vague answers, and at times been told work was completed when it clearly was not. The vehicle has also been moved between locations without proper communication, which only added to the frustration and concern.
I am still without my logbook months after purchase, which raises further concerns about how this has been handled.
Overall, this has been a stressful and time-consuming experience. What should have been a straightforward purchase has turned into an ongoing issue involving incomplete repairs, lack of transparency, and a clear breakdown in trust.
I would strongly advise others to think very carefully before purchasing from Car City UK.

I purchased a Mercedes gle 350 coupe 2019 plate great price although I am based in London last year December 25 came with 3 months guaranteed with evolution this company used apparently I discovered a fault driver side rattling noise end February 2026 reported evolution but rejected my claim said there don’t guarantee the brake and dics faulty
So went to Amanda after sales car city there super helpful resolve my issue paid for the repair £550 via London garage of my choice

From the initial enquiry for a specific vehicle, we were provided with prompt and professional service.
Steve was the sales professional who looked after us and provided us with a decent coffee, test drive and vehicle details.
We were more than happy with the service provided to us and the car was collected on time as arranged. Valeted and ready to go.
We have a couple of unforeseen warranty problems and Amanda sorted these without any quibble. A courtesy car was provided whilst the vehicle was back with servicing. Amanda is also knowledgeable and very communicative and we were never left wondering what was going on.

Fantastic service from Daniel, and Car City. Dans communication was brilliant, always clear & concise, and quick to respond. Collection day was very easy, the car was spotless and ready to drive.
