The concept is simple, picture a ski resort, remove the snow and replace the pistes with an array of sweeping flowy bike trails meandering to the bottom of the mountain and you are close. Add a bunch of adrenalin and big sprinkle of fun and you are pretty much there. BikePark Wales is an exhilarating way to spend your day in the Welsh mountains.

Attended with 2 children aged 10 and 11. The process was very easy and the organisation is excellent. Last time I visited was over 10 years ago and it is much better now.
Excellent maps, signage, transport (hardly any waiting), staff were very friendly.
One of the children had a little crash and has to use first aid, they were excellent as well and very reassuring for the child. Who did in fact get back on his bike and rode a few more runs (for his ability).
Cafe was reasonably prices, great they had a kiosk outside as well for drinks (less queuing).
Quite an expensive day out, but definitely worth it (travelled about an hour).

Ticket to Ride experience is the perfect option for anyone wanting to get the most out of their beginner down hill riding experience. Colin,
Our instructor went over and above to make us feel safe and confident.
Don’t take a cheaper option thinking you’ll do your own thing, even if you’re a regular cyclist and don't under estimate the skills needed to keep safe and have fun.
I would really like to try the Ladies day at some point.
Food was great too, I had a salad
Bowl.
All in all an amazing day was had by all 5 of us.

Fabulous venue. Some challenges and exciting trails, suitable for all abilities. The uplift teams are all fantastic, they all thoroughly enjoy their roles and show that BPW are an excellent company to work for. A thoroughly enjoyable few days. To quote that Austrian lad - I'll be back!

excellent experience, I was extremely nervous going into this, in my 40s with zero prior experience, but Colin did a great job at making sure everyone in the group, including our family (mixed ability and varying confidence) had a fantastic time. I highly recommend this.

It a great day out but I did have a axe to grind on my last visit. I get gifted a voucher each year at Xmas and spend it on uplift. Last year I broke my arm so had to cancel my booking.
Firstly BPW take a hefty percentage of a cancellation as a refund fee.
Secondly, the refunded amount expires after 12 months from the original purchase date. So I ended up losing the £60 worth of voucher.
I think this is pretty unfair. They shouldn't treat their customers like this when this sort of thing happens.
Will I stop going? No. As I said it's a great day out I do each year with my mates. But I'll be telling the in-laws not to buy a voucher and after being treated in this way I won't spend in their cafe or get lunch as I usually do.
Look after your loyal customer bpw!

Been to BPW many times before and decided to hire Trek Sessions for both myself and son as we had other bikes in the car. Reception and booking in process was smooth, friendly and efficient. Moved onto the hire bike area and were sorted out with the two Trek Session bikes. Both bikes looked extremely well used, dirty nothing like the hire pictures on the website but wasn’t expecting them to be perfect. My son’s bike handle bar grips had parts missing and credit to the guy organising the hire he had them changed for new ones. The guy set up the suspension air volume in both and off we went to the uplift. The uplift was efficient and staff friendly as always. To warm up and test the bikes both of us went down a blue run. My son mentioned the gears on his bike were snatching and hard to get into gear. I noticed on my bike that the right side brake lever was loose and the bolt not tighten up and the left lever was a totally different angle and seat was sticking out to the right. . As we had tools in my car I tightened up the loose bolt adjusted the other lever and put the seat back to straight. Second uplift and red run noticed my rear suspension was close to bottoming out and Boxer forks were awful at low and high speed hits. Adjusted the air pressure sag with a pump and went back up for another run. After 30 plus years mountain biking my conclusion is the forks needed a full service or scrapped. Towards end of the day we swapped bikes and I was amazed at the difference in fork performance on his and enjoyed a good run down even if the gears were out and hard to select. My sons on my bike crashed on his run down and had cuts and bruises. He exact words when he got back down was the forks are shit and shot on this bike. We returned the bikes back the guy who hired them out to us and mentioned my bikes issues and to seemed totally non interested and took the bike back and walked off. I mentioned my experience of the guy and bike to someone in reception and left. To give BPW credit a hire manager tracked us down and asked for feedback. Explained everything we had experienced. He was friendly and explained they had few Trek Session bikes for hire and it was difficult to maintain them during peak and apologised. He said if I had taken my bike back he would have swapped the fork for a different one in fifteen minutes. After a further discussion he did refund half the price of the bike hire and we left. My question to him was were the bikes even checked and even test run to see if they were performing to manufacturers standards. He again said it was hard with the few bikes they had to keep up with things. He even advised us to hire a different bike next time. We have owned and ridden Demos, Furys and other bikes so wanted a downhill bike.
So to sum up our experience…superb uplift, trails as always. But when you hire a bike don’t expect anything remotely like the advertised website hire pictures or descriptions. Yes it won’t be a new bike but a tired, extremely well used faulty bike. Check the bike for faults before going out on a run and don’t assume they have been checked by the hire guys. If you have a problem send it back. Expect an extremely well used, tired with mechanic issue bikes and maintenance not up to date. Was it worth £99 to hire the bike, I would say if they were in reasonable shape yes but in their current condition no. As BPW is sponsored by Trek and Rockshox it’s not a great advert for them and would put me off buying! Guess next time will just bring our own bikes…

Yo? you think your sick?? Hold up now....you might not be ready.
Banger trails aren't for the guys with high blood pressure or cholesterol warnings (Although i might be guilty on both counts). Who cares??.....this place rips. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a pass. Only the brave will survive.
Hail Satan 🤘🤣

Paid £180 for my daughter and I for what on the website was advertised as package for beginners.
The website encourages getting there early (8.30am) so you can get your hired bikes, safety equipment etc. and be ready to get on the uplift service at 9.30am. Turned up and was told to come back at 10.30am. When I pointed out what the website encourages I was told the session starts at 10.30am.
Came back at 10.30am and had to wait a very long time waiting to get kitted out as multiple families in front of us had booked the incorrectly sized equipment due to to very very confusing layout of the website. Some bikes also had flat tyres so the boy giving out the bikes had to dissapear off wasting more time while he pumped them up.
Eventually got to the front of the queue only to find we were in the same position as the people in front of us. There was only 1 option of bike to select for a child on the website but was told I had booked the wrong one, it was like buying a pair of shoes 👞 😂 and that it was very rare that people get confused.
When I pointed out that it couldn't be that rare as most of the people in front of us had the same issue he got his knickers in a twist and marched me inside to show me the website on his computer (wasting even more time 🙄) and doing his best to make me feel like an idiot.
To add insult to injury although the park closes at 5pm we were told to hand our bikes and equipment back at 3.30pm as we were beginners 😳
After the floppy haired lad who clearly regrets not working harder in school and wishes he had a better job had finished taking this out on me and my 13 year old daughter with his passive aggressive rant it was well past 12 midday before we could start heading to the uplift service.
We managed 3 runs of the Kermit course, only stopping briefly for an overpriced drink from the cafe and had to rush the last one so we didn't get milked for bringing the equipment back "late" £5 for every 15 mins 🙄
Such a shame as the trail was a lot of fun , the uplift drivers were helpful, our bikes were in good condition and appeared well maintained but sadly this will be our first and last visit to Bike park Wales. ☹️
No hard feelings to Mr. Floppy hair. We have all had a bad day at the office. Remember it's never too late for a career change if you hate your job that much. I wish you all the best for your future endeavours. ✌️🙏☺️

Had two days at Bikepark Wales, with my son and I . What a fantastic experience. All the staff are really friendly and helpful. The trails are amazing , definitely recommend using the uplift because its a long way up. What a brilliant company, they have covered all you need for mountain biking , one hundred percent the best bike park we've ever been to. Definitely coming back .Thank you to all the staff and your hard work on making Bikepark Wales a fantastic experience. 👏👏👏👏😃

Totally friendly atmosphere. Riders and staff were all keen to help and encourage. As novices, the uplift was fine as the people operating were completely supportive and helpful. In the shop we were given a wipe for a cut. The food is amazing and good value. It is totally inclusive. We will be back.

Had a good day at bike park wales. Good hot weather. My only 2 complaints are that there didn’t seem to be enough buses running as queues before lunch were crazy so we didn’t do as many runs as we have in the past which is a shame as it’s a 5 hour round trip and uplift has got quite expensive if you can’t get in 8-10 runs.
Also it would be very helpful if there was running water either at the bus stop or at drop off point as it was pretty hot .

Overall a great day. Only downsides:1) uplift started at 10am, we queued from then and got on first bus at 10:35! Apparently 2 drivers called in sick so this resulted in less buses moving people. 2) the waiting area for uplift needs cover from the sunshine and rain. Appreciate it’s an outdoor sport but extremes like yesterday’s 30 degrees mean the public needs protection. 3) water station needed at top of hill and/or in the uplift queue. No other drinking no water around the park except at the centre.
Otherwise the trails are awesome and bike park as a whole one of the best in the UK.

Second time here, fantastic day out brilliant facilities and people. Uplift was a bit slower today than my last visit and tried ordering food at 3.01 and told all food stopped at 3.00 except pizza otherwise would have been 5 stars. Definitely rec

Regularity of the uplift buses let our visit down today. Usually there are buses in abundance, but today, very long waits and queue management poor.

Just completed a memorable two day visit with my son and I’m still smiling (and aching all over 😂)
This was our first visit to any bike park and we were both nervous and excited. Booking in was okay, there was a short slow moving queue but once we had our uplift band we were off.
Uplifts are very frequent and we rarely had to wait at all. Sometimes i put both bikes on myself and sometimes the driver did my son’s bike.
I was worried that the runs would be busy, we would get caught by faster riders or catch up to slower riders but all my concerns were unjustified- even during school holidays the trails were clear - we were never caught by faster riders and we only caught up to slower riders a couple of times at the end of runs.
The runs are faster, longer and overall slightly more challenging than typical trail centre runs so we used the excellent grading system to work through the runs in a progression from easier to harder. The skill catchers at the start of each run are great. I feel that they are often harder than what you get on the trail by the fact that you are stationary and have time to think about them.
On the first day we completed 6 uplifts and rode nearly all the blue runs plus a handful of reds.
By the second day our confidence and speed had improved so we did mainly reds with a handful of blues (another 6 uplifts). By the last run on the last day I was dead on my feet but had the most amazing time. I’m a road cyclist and consider myself to be very fit and was surprised by how physically challenging a full day was.
Highlights included seeing my 12yo son nail the A470 red jump run - flying over gap jumps that I was too chicken to even attempt! I also enjoyed vicious valley and managing to land the road gap. Terrys belly with popty ping was also a highlight but man it seems to go on forever!
The food offerings were okay, we had breakfast rolls, salad bowls, loaded nachos and stone baked pizzas: the wait wasn’t too long and quality was always good.
Staff were generally efficient and knowledgeable.
Next time we visit we will start with Terrys belly and a visit to the superb quarry skills area where my son progressed from table tops to gaps for the first time giving him the confidence he needed to complete A470. I think if I had any suggestions for improvement it would be to add a progressive set of boardwalk drop offs here.
My only negative of the visit is that I dropped a pair of (20year old) Oakley sunglasses in the visitor centre area and no one handed them in (I asked everywhere and checked again at the days end) but this is a reflection on human nature and not a negative on the venue. Still, I now have an excuse to buy some new kit!

Best bike part and MTBing in the UK. Excellent trails, well maintained and brilliantly designed. Map and signposting all very good. Great facilities, even better now there is the snack truck at the top. Cant fault it, parking can get tight on busy days I guess.

Odpowiedź od BikePark Wales
Love the new end section on A470. The last 3 or 4 jumps are perfect size and "floatyness"! Would be really cool to see this line continue on all the way to the bottom, or at least link it down into the last section of Insufficient Funds. Chuck a step up and a drop in there too and it might even rival A-Line!

Odpowiedź od BikePark Wales
Amazingly well thought out and maintained. Mountain Bike Disneyland! The only tiny, minor thing I can think of to make of better would be if they offered lockers to store your belongings while you're on the trails.
