Usually have repeat order of dog food which go to plan. Occasionally I accumulate additional food and cancel a delivery. This doesn’t faze them and orders get back to expected routine. Find them very... Zobacz więcej

Great firm to deal with

Great firm to deal with, had already encountered 3 scam sites for Sureflap cat flap, rang manager and he assured me they were genuine and he sent out cat flap next day. First class customer service, would not hesitate to use again

#1 Brighton/Hove pet shop

Coombs is always providing great pricing and brilliant fast delivery- often same day or next day.
They stock good quality items that are hard to find elsewhere.
There communication is also top tier and they are quick to help with any questions or issues.
I would highly recommend them.

Coombes offer a great service but poor delivery service …

Coombes offer a great service and products at reasonable prices. I would have rated higher however, having ordered twice - once with next day delivery and once with standard delivery, both couriers have been dreadful. In fact Royal Mail still haven’t managed to deliver my second order and it is proving very difficult to even try to speak to someone to find out what is going on.
Please, for the sake of your business, find better shipping options as your current ones may loose you customers

Excellent service

Excellent service - I placed an order online in the morning and it was delivered in the afternoon.... very impressed and will definitely continue to buy my cat food/products from them.

Wonderful service

Have been using A Coombs Pet Centre for quite a while from instore and deliveries. Never had an issue, always great service, only once has something from my order been out of stock and they called me to see what I wanted to do. Always polite, when we are not in the lovely delivery guy knows where to leave the order. Competitively priced too

Brilliant local business

Super efficient delivery. Always a smile and very pleasant staff. Nothing is too much trouble. They are so passionate about what they do and very knowledgeable. Always a pleasure to support a local business working hard for its community! Great shop! Thanks

5-star service

Fantastic service - easy to use website, quick delivery and clear communication. Really appreciated being able to buy smaller sizes of a product to test with my pet, would definitely recommend and use again.

Amazing Customer Service

I placed my first order at the start of the year and accidentally received the wrong dog food - but honestly, these things happen! What really matters is how a company fixes it, and WOW did they deliver!

Huge shoutout to Natasha, who sorted everything out super quickly, was really friendly and made the whole thing completely stress-free ❤️ My more recent order arrived perfectly, with exceptional customer service throughout.

It's not often you come across customer service this good, and it really shows how much they truly care about their customers. I'll definitely be sticking with them and would 100% recommend!

"Little" Bear gives his full approval too - and he definitely appreciates Natasha! 🐾❤️

A Coombs - their customer service is second to none

I chose A Coombs because their subscription option was actually cheaper than going directly to the manufacturer, and the option of a subscription means I don't have to think about re-ordering, it just happens automatically.

Delivery is really swift, and I've always had professional customer service. For example today I realised we needed food slightly sooner than our subscription, and due to my error, I couldn't amend my subscription (always check you have money in the bank to pay first!!)

I contacted A Coombs via WhatsApp (super convenient) and straight away had a really helpful response, and they expedited my order to make sure my dog could get his favourite kibble.

Really amazing, warm and friendly service, I can't fault them.

Trusted and reliable- a great company

I have been buying specialist food for small dogs from this company regularly for a few months now. Delivery is always prompt and reliable. Customer service always excellent, friendly and consistent. There’s a great choice of products. Highly recommended

Fantastic fast and efficient service

Fantastic fast and efficient service. Set up a monthly order. Works great . I get emailed just before my order is due and then it’s delivered almost straight away. Brilliant and hassle free.

Brilliant performance shop

Brilliant performance shop. Huge range of pet food in store and staff are happy to try and source anything they don’t have in stock.
Staff knowledgeable about pet care and a fantastic vet offers free advice on a Saturday. Last weekend some staff from an animal charity with behaviourists etc were also on hand to give advice.
Can’t recommend this shop highly enough and my dog Minnie loves it in there as well.

I ordered pet food from this company on…

**** UPDATE REGARDING RESPONSE TO THE BUSINESS.....I DID NOT USE INAPPROPRIATE OR FOUL LANGUAGE, THIS IS COMPLETELY UNTRUE. I AM EXSTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE WORDING OF THIS REPLY AND HOW THEY HAVE CHOSEN TO DEAL WITH IT, WHEN THEY SHOULD BE TAKING ISSUE WITH THEIR STAFF****

I ordered pet food from this company on the 15/04/26 over the phone and spoke to a young girl, she told me it would come the next day. It got to late afternoon and I had a feeling it wasn't going to arrive so I rang the Hove branch to find out what was happening. A young man answered the phone and I told him the problem, he went away checked rang me back and told me the girl had ordered the wrong food when it arrived to send it back, I told him there is no way I am going to the post office carrying that as I don't drive, so he said he would arrange for it to be collected and send out the correct food today. I said don't bother I will not be ordering anything further from them and expressed how upset and angry I was about what happened, and asked to speak to a manager which I couldn't do, manager is supposed to be ringing me we will see if that happens but I wont hold my breath. I hadn't finished talking when he put the phone down on me, so rude!!. What is wrong with people today there is too many mistakes by companies when you order things, if the staff employed can't be bothered to do their job properly why don't they sack them. This is damaging the companies business when things like this happens causing customers to go elsewhere, but they don't seem to care about that or the bad customer service, something has to be done about it in this country as it happens time and time again. I have ordered from these people before and always had good service apart from this stupid girl, but it has put me off ordering again. I notice the company do not reply to negative reviews on here which is also not good and shows they don't care.

We are genuinely sorry that your experience did not go as expected on this occasion. As you mentioned, you have ordered from us before and received good service, which is something we take great pride in. We have built a long-standing reputation for going above and beyond for our customers, and we will always stand by that.

On this occasion, a genuine mistake was made when the incorrect item was ordered. As soon as this was identified, our team apologised and offered a full solution immediately – including a free collection of the incorrect item from your home and a 24-hour expedited replacement of the correct food. We did everything we reasonably could to put things right as quickly and conveniently as possible for you.

However, we do feel it is important to address the manner in which our team were spoken to. We are a small, family-run business and we care deeply about our staff. The young lady you initially spoke with is a valued member of our team, and English is not her first language. Whilst she made a mistake – as anyone can – the level of aggression and language directed towards our team during the follow-up call was not warranted.

We always aim to treat our customers with kindness, patience and understanding, and we expect that same level of respect in return. Our team are here to help, and they should be able to do so without being shouted at.

In relation to your comment about reviews, we do respond to both positive and negative feedback. As a small independent business, there can occasionally be a slight delay while we balance customer service, packing orders, and running the shop day-to-day – but we do care, and we do take feedback seriously.

We care a great deal about both our customers and our team, and we always try to handle things with kindness. We just ask for that same approach in return.

Really poor service from this company

Really poor service. I placed an order for prescription medication for my elderly dog on 10th April. Paid for priority delivery. The medication was shown as in stock on the website.

Contacted the company by phone on 13th and was told medication was due to be delivered to them that day and would be posted that evening.

Still no shipment notification on 14th so I emailed the company as I was at work and couldn’t call them. No reply to my email but a shipment email was sent to me at 14.34 hours.

Bearing in mind I paid extra for priority delivery, this is not due to be delivered until tomorrow (16th).

My dog will have been without the medication she needs for 3 days now.

If an item isn’t in stock this should either be shown on their website so it can be ordered elsewhere or at least communicated to the customer straight away so they can try and make alternative arrangements.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review, and I am truly sorry for the experience you’ve had here.

I completely understand how important this medication is, especially for an elderly dog, and I’m very sorry that this has caused a gap in what your dog needs. That’s understandably worrying, and it’s not the level of service we aim to provide.

You’re absolutely right – if an item isn’t physically on the shelf and ready to go, it should either be clearly shown on the website or communicated to you straight away. On this occasion, we fell short of that, and I’m very sorry.

From what you’ve described, there were delays on our side in receiving the stock, and although we did update you by phone, we didn’t follow that through as clearly or as promptly as we should have – particularly when you then took the time to email us. You should never feel like you’re chasing us, especially when it relates to something so important.

We also completely understand your point regarding priority delivery. While this service applies from the point of dispatch, in this case the delay before dispatch meant it didn’t feel “priority” at all, and that’s something we need to take responsibility for.

I would really like the opportunity to put this right for you. If you’re happy to, please could you contact us directly at customerservice@acoombs.co.uk with your order details? I will personally look into this for you, make sure everything has been resolved properly.

Absolutely brilliant

Absolutely brilliant! I used to buy my cat's food from the Brighton shop but then discovered that they deliver. I've now been ordering online for a couple of years and the service is fantastic - if it's not the same day then it's definitely the day after - and it's always delivered with a smile
