I always forget the necessary

I always forget the necessary
Things when shopping; You get home and you have forgotten. Milk, butter,eggs,etc ( I,m a man) So when Watson,s came along I booked the regular shopping I always forget, once every fortnight, and it works for me.They are so adaptable for your needs.

Dodgy business practises

They put you on a subscription without telling you. I didn't see anywhere that said it was a subscription when I placed an order and specifically asked the sales rep, who said it wasn't. Items delivered fine, but it's very difficult to cancel - you can skip deliveries but only for a set time period. I couldn't remove my payment details on the website, or cancel my unwanted subscription and now have to ring up. Wouldn't have an issue otherwise, but this all feels very dishonest. It also claims to be from local farms, but I've not found any evidence of this. Could be true, could be a lie, who knows?

Disappointing range and poor customer service

Limited product range and disappointed when milkshakes were off on delivery and yoghurt pots blown up. Queried with customer service and got told it was due to the hot weather and poor storage. Nigh were collected from the doorstep at 12.30am shortly after delivery.
All too much hassle

decent products but be careful

products are decent, but was set-up as a subscription purchase by default despite being told on the doorstep that it wasn't a subscription service.

no emails to tell you about an upcoming payment so you're aware of this to cancel.

Fraudulent Transactions - Thieves

Let me preface this by saying these fraudulent transactions are NOT the subscription service. They were very obviously fraudulent and for random amounts.

Had a chap come to our door, he was very pleasant and polite, he did take my phone (with my consent) and started pressing all sorts whilst I was distracted with my wife but I thought he was just navigating through products. We placed our order, got charged the expected £3.60 and thought nothing else of it.

Fast forward a few days later and problems arise.
One day after I placed my order (inserted card details) I get a random transaction for £0.00 to a random merchant using the same card I signed up with, two days later I had multiple attempted fraudulent transactions and two that actually went through - contacted my bank and had them reversed.

I am very careful and knowledgeable about my security and online shenanigans - that bank card is used nowhere else except from “normal house” stuff (mortgage, council tax, etc) and signing up to Watson Pantry is the only outlier.

My bank confirmed that the payments used required the CVV (3 digits on the back of the card) to be used, and the only possibility is that it was done through Watson Pantry.

I’ve currently requested a Subject Access Request to pull all my collected data from them, I’m cancelling my account and telling them to remove all my information.

My bank card has had to be cancelled and thankfully my money is secure, but all this over some milk and eggs - unbelievable and a disgusting thing to do, especially to working class people; I’ll be doing everything I can to advise people against this abhorrent company.

Unauthorised Payments

My mum brought some eggs and yogurts to basically help a sales person out with an order. They started to drain random payments from her account each week which she had no idea how to stop.

Don't give this company your bank details.

After further checks, this is a start up business with bad history from the directors from previous attempts. Which I don't think will survive again. I wouldn't even give your name and address.

They are clearly told to miss lead to get the orders in and sort the rest out later!

Guy with glasses kept ringing my doorbell and walking off! What’s that point in that? Just stop it. This has happened 3 times today. I’m a sick lady having to get up to see who’s there. It’s not a joke!!!!

Harassing our road

Harassing our road. Knocked on my door and others on my street 4 times across the whole day from as early as 8AM till 6PM… it takes the piss. If I don’t answer the door maybe leave a leaflet don’t harass people. From the other reviews it doesn’t surprise that the company operates like this.

Was lied to by pushy sales rep

Was lied to by pushy sales rep, he insisted everything would be local and yet not one item has been. The only reason I decided to use was the fact that a carbon footprint would be reduced and that local farmers would get a decent pay.
Service is very good though, but I’m going back to my old milkman who is a little nearer.

Watsons Pantry is misleading!!

It took me so long to make a review because we didnt even know the name of the company until they posted a note through my letterbox!

A few weeks ago I was getting aggressive knocks on my door, my son was scared we were having another break in, after I told them I wasn't interested they came back again twice the SAME DAY! He even offered me money to sign up and get eggs!! They're so desperate! Please stay out of Nottingham. My neighbours had the same experience, we don't want your "free eggs" either!

I've searched online and it's nothing but bad about this shady company

Missing Items and Unauthorised Purchases

Door-to-door salespeople came to my house to sign up for Watsons Pantry. As it was a one-off, I agreed and paid on-the-day for eggs and 2 cartons of milk. The salesperson did my order for me, taking my phone out of my hand (with my consent) and ordering on my behalf.

Well, my 2 cartons of milk never came. But, when I inquired, the language used in the email suggested that I was lying. When I asked for proof of delivery, they simply said the time it was delivered. I, personally, think that they delivered to the completely wrong address, but I have no way of proving that other than the fact I don't have my items. My eggs were delivered fine a few days later, but I did have to update the order to describe the exact location of my house.

And I thought that was the end of my experience with Watsons Pantry, but today we had an order of milk and eggs randomly appear at our doorstep. I did not authorise that these items be purchased, meaning Watsons Pantry has taken money from my account without my consent and I am extremely upset. I phoned up, cancelled every "upcoming order" (which I never placed because I didn't want to use this company again after the missing items incident). When I explained my situation to the lady on the phone, she offered me a £5 gift card (won't be using it because this company is clearly dodgy), and I will now have to follow-up with my bank to ensure that Watsons Pantry have no further access to my account. The lady on the phone said that the website automatically does it - how dodgy is that!

Be very, very careful when using this company. They will just do whatever they want, without your consent, clearly!
