Walker Slater was founded in the Scottish Highland town of Laggan, 1989. A year later we opened our first store in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town—the picturesque Victoria Street. Our once small shop has grown gradually, flourishing into a thriving menswear flagship. Upon this journey we tried out a rail of ladies garments, which gradually became a whole section and later a dedicated store! At Walker Slater, we take the traditional and breathe new life into it. Our main inspiration is our heritage and Scotland’s natural beauty. At the core of our collections is tweed; from the hardest wearing Harris Tweed to the softest blend of cashmere wool. Alongside it we use a selection of fine materials such as lambswool, silk and linen to create traditional clothing with a modern edge. We believe in quality, timeless clothing and work hard to develop looks that are beautiful and functional. Our hand-picked selection of complementary accessories from British and European manufacturers are sold in every store, just in case you need that finishing touch.

Fast and efficient service
I wanted to purchase a silk knitted tie so simply used Google and Walker Slater popped up.
I found the website to be user friendly with a comprehensive description of the item that I was interested in.
Having placed an order my purchase was dispatched promptly and arrived well packaged. The knitted tie appears to be of very good quality both in it's material and construction.
This was my first purchase from Walker Slater and I will be happy to buy from them again.

Decent bang for buck
Quality is OK, for the price. The tweed itself is nice, but some of the seams are rather haphazardly done. Fit and sizing is pretty hit or miss, as you're better off ordering a couple of sizes too big and just having it taken in by your local tailor. Ordering was fairly smooth, and delivery times vary wildly, from a couple of days up to a week (to an EU country).

Overall a great company and highly recommended!
Great company. Product quality is excellent with wonderful attention to detail. Fabric, design, stitching are all top-notch. Excellent, responsive customer service as well. Prompt, reliable, speedy shipping from UK to US via DHL Express. Only caveat is sizing: my experience is that they tend to run a bit small. I’ve been a 46L in men’s jackets and waistcoats for many years, but I need a 48L in their garments. Highly recommend Walker Slater and their fabulous tweeds!
