In 2015 I committed 'financial suicide' by purchasing a timeshare from the Marriott Vacation Club. I used the timeshare once but then quickly began to realize the true cost of ownership, with ever increasing annual maintenance fees.

After three years of torture I began pleading with Marriott to cancel the timeshare and put me out of my misery via any possible exit options. They would have none of it! I was resigned to the fact that this would be my life now; tethered to a ball of financial regret.

One day while falling quickly down the YouTube rabbit hole, I came across Dave Ramsey and in one of his videos, heard him recommend the Timeshare Exit Team to someone who was in a similar situation as I was. At first I was skeptical, thinking that this would be very expensive and would never work for me since I did not live in nor was I a U.S. citizen.

Having nothing to lose I decided to contact the Timeshare Exit Team. It was one of the best decisions of my life!!! They set up an appointment, contacted me the next day and got to work on my case immediately. I signed up with them around March 2018 and they told me that the entire process could take around 12-18 months.

In July 2018 Marriott contacted me and began singing a different tune. They offered to relieve me of the timeshare nightmare and sent me documents to start the process. The Timeshare Exit Team contacted me in April 2019 and informed me that the exit process had been officially completed.

In my experience there are few things in life that work as promised. The Timeshare Exit Team is one of them. If you need to get out of a timeshare before your remaining life is sucked out of you, do yourself a favor and contact them today.

We engaged TET to get us out of a Mexican timeshare which they provided proof of at least three years ago. However, we still get phone calls and maintenance invoices from the Timeshare company which we send on to TET as they have asked us not to contact the company directly. I would like to know if anyone else has continued to receive calls and invoices following proof the contract was eliminated. Thank you.

We are extremely dissatisfied with Timeshare Exit Team/Reed Hein.

We engaged Timeshare Exit Team/Reed Hein more than a year ago to help us to get rid of our Wyndham timeshare and were assigned case number 75055-Wyndham. After months of waiting we received a proposal from Timeshare Exit Team and Wyndham that included maintenance fees paid in advance that were several hundred dollars more than they should have been.

We responded to Timeshare Exit Team that Wyndham had miscalculated the maintenance fees and while we would not pay the miscalculated amount, we would pay the proper, lower amount. Since then we have heard nothing from Timeshare Exit Team. When we call all we ever get is voicemail, and and two earlier submissions of this complaint by email sent months ago have received no substantive response.

At this point we are extremely disappointed with Timeshare Exit Team's performance. We request that Timeshare Exit Team respond to this complaint promptly and inform us of how they propose to rectify the situation, or we will explore our legal options.

We were eager to start working with the Timeshare Exit Team. Our initial meeting was very helpful in understanding all that would be involved in the process. I was surprised at how much it would cost to make the exit, but a reasonable payment schedule was agreed to. The process worked as explained and we are now free of our timeshare burden. We had a difficult time getting updates as things progressed, though. Calls to our original contact were not returned, so at times we wondered where we were in the process. We were finally contacted near the end of the process and assured that things were moving forward. In fact, they were almost completed. Good communication at the end has led to the successful exit and we are so glad to be done with the timeshare! Now, we just have to finish the payments to Timeshare Exit Team. The exit took about 9 months to complete.

It is never a good feeling to pay for something that you are never using. I am thankful to Timeshare Exit Team for quickly and easily dissolving my timeshare. While the upfront cost was high they did allow me to set up a payment system that enabled me to take care of the cost over a years time. I am done with payments and free of a timeshare that I was paying annual fees for over 10 years. Thank you for your diligence and honesty in this transaction

The initial interview was very informative, very thorough. Cost was upfront, no hidden costs.I had 2 timeshares, and it took about 11 months to completely get out of both of them. The only draw back at times, when I sent documents to them, I would not get consistant responses that my document was recieved. I'm extremely happy that I no longer have the rising costs & stress that Timeshares created in my life.The Exit Team are a great group of people.

Although taking longer than expected and requiring more follow up on my part than I thought necessary, the exit was completed, and I’m no longer bleeding cash. The losses are cut off and that bad experience is in my rear view mirror.

My experience with timeshare exit team has been pretty good. They were able to get me out of my time share and will highly recommend to anyone who wants to get out.

If I have any reservation at all, it will have to do with that fact my capital investment is money down the drain and it will be nice if a portion of that can be returned.

We engaged Reed Hein and associates to help us exit our timeshare in Florida after seeing an advertisement in the media. There were attempts from previous entities which were unsuccessful costing time and money.
The folks at Reed Hein were truly professional. They reassured us throughout the entire exit process.Even though the process seemed arduous and sometimes frustrating, we worked with them and did everything they asked of us.
From our experience with Reed Hein, we would have no hesitation in recommending the company to anyone who is considering getting rid of a timeshare. As there are many scammers out there, it is refreshing to know of a professional company that one can work with.

UPDATE MAY 1, 2019 IN RESPONSE TO REED HEIN'S POST: A Reed Hein Representative did contact us. They continued with their signature stall tactics and excuses. They have refused to honour their "money back guarantee" and have charged us 65% of the original amount on our time share. The "offer" they presented was a almost full payment of the time share fees, with NO refund of any amount from Reed Hein, even though their offer was well beyond a "reasonable time limit" (over 3 years since first signing with them) and only came to us after we registered a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Clearly this "offer" was delivered to appear that they had negotiated something (which they did not). This organization is a total scam, populated by a revolving door of representatives, with no legal expertise. Don't waste your money. If you want out of your timeshare go to an actual lawyer and have them negotiate with the timeshare for you. You will probably pay considerably less in the long run, and will get it done in a reasonable amount of time.

ORIGINAL POST: We registered with Timeshare Exit Team over 3 years ago to negotiate on our behalf with the time share company. We paid TimeShare Exit Team over $6,800. We followed all of their advice, which included:
"do not have any contact with the timeshare or with any calls from creditors on their behalf", and "do not continue with any further payments, now that we are acting on your behalf". After 3 years of vague emails, no responses from Time Share Exit Team other than "it's in the hands of the resort", or "you have a new consultant to work with", we finally received a call from a legal firm saying it is working with TimeShare Exit Team and that we can be released from our time share if we pay a fee of $9,300 (the original amount we had owed when Time Share Exit Team was to begin negotiating for us). When we requested a refund of the original amount of $6,800 paid to Time Share Exit Team, since they neither negotiated any real terms OR did so in a reasonable amount of time, Time Share Exit Team refused to honour their "money back guarantee". Reed Hein and Time Share Exit Team are scam artists. STAY AWAY.

They are awesome. They explain up front that it takes time, but they will get you out of your timeshare. It did take time and at times we felt impatient but they kept assuring us everything was on track. They DID get us out of our timeshare free and clear and it was all done legally. They even hired and paid for an expert to watch our credit to be sure the timeshare company didn’t ding our credit. Awesome experience. I highly recommend them but I also warn you must be patient.

Timeshare Exit Team accomplished what they promised in a surprisingly short time and the freedom from being rid of our timeshare was well worth the money

Time Share Exit was honest with us from the beginning. They said it could take up to 18 months.They did what they said they would. They got us out of our time share commitment. My wife & I recommend Time Share Exit to anyone who is looking to get out of their time share. They are honest and trustworthy.

My husband and I foolishly let ourselves get sucked into the TimeShare scam, too. Then one day in 2015, my husband heard an ad for TimeShareExit.com,
on KOGO AM, a local San Diego talk radio station, and he wanted to check it out. I went online and checked out their very helpful and informative website, plus looked into any BBB ratings and reviews. We found out that TSET (created by 2 local businessmen, Mr. Reid and Mr. Hein, whose Mission it is to help people get out of the TimeShare ripoff). We found nothing but excellent reviews by many people who were indeed helped, and liberated from their evil, money-sucking TimeShares !! So, we scheduled an appointment in March, 2015. Our excellent Client Advisor, Bree Atkins, patiently explained everything to us, and walked us through all the steps in getting started. We were so sick when we realized how much money we had been wasting on constantly rising Maintenance and "Mortgage" fees on our TS, since 2000. We paid a modest sum up front to get started, and then a monthly payment for 1 year, which got us out of the nearly $6,000 we still owed on our TS, after another "upgrade". We give great thanks to God for inspiring Mr. Reed and Mr. Hein to create such an honest and outstanding company to truly liberate people from their Timeshares. We're also very grateful to KOGO 600AM radio, in San Diego, CA, for airing the ad my husband heard. Getting out of the huge, ever-hungry-money-sucking Timeshare ripoff was the beginning of our plan to get out of even worse credit card debt, which,we will be, in 15 more months !! Well, it's been almost a month and still no refund!!! I did get an email that said they were looking into it. Still no closer, however, I did still negotiate my own release.
So anybody reading it doesn't hurt to call your resort and ask, just wish I hadn't depended on someone else (paying a lot of money) and called sooner!!!!!!

Well, I signed a contract with Timeshare Exit Team 8/2015. We have a Timeshare with The Manhatten Club in New York City. The timeshare was paid in full. We just wanted help to get out. We were promised that help. After two years and over $4000 (that was paid to you), I asked for the letter that ReedHein & Associates said they sent to The Manhatten Club. I was told they couldn't do that, so I got no letter. I have pages and pages of emails. that I have sent to ReedHein & Associates asking for help and answers. Always got the same response "well it's in the Timeshares hands we have no update". I have made numerous phone calls to ReedHein & Associates (which should all be recorded) asking for help, still nothing. Well after three years and one month I called The Manhatten Club myself. I WAS ABLE TO NEGOTIATE OUR OWN RELEASE, with it costing us nothing, any maintenance fees were dismissed and nothing on our credit.
So, I have emailed the paperwork to April (your office) in March 2019. I have called and spoke to Dee who told me the paperwork was received but could not give me a timeline on when the paperwork would be looked over. It has been over a month since the paperwork has been sent in.

I know your company is super busy but it seems only fair that you stand by your guarantee of a full refund. The Manhatten Club advised that there was nothing in my history with any contact from a resort release company of any kind. It has been three and a half years and I did my own release by simply calling them myself.

I have pages of emails with your company and numerous phone calls begging for help. I never received that help.

Call The Manhatten Club and see we are NO longer owners.

Timeshare Exit Team got me out of my timeshare!!! Like many others we got roped into the timeshare with promises that we could finally take our family to Disney. Never happened! We never had enough "points" with our timeshare to take that Disney Vacation. What a scam! So happy we are no longer tied to that timeshare. We have been timeshare owners since 1994 and over the years we kept within the timeshare circle of buying a new timeshare. We thought we were done back in 2008. we converted both of our timeshares from weeks to points. From that point on our annual maintenance fees were going up and up. We wanted to sell our timeshare however it was a lost cause until we heard about Timeshare Exit Team, after our initial meeting to find out more about exiting out of our timeshare we had no doubt that we signed up with the right company to get us of out of this endless cycle of increasing annual maintenance fees.
