Mark is the best . His easy to follow progressive teaching style moves you forward nicely depending of course on your own effort. I’ve purchased a number of his courses and they are very well laid out with PDF printable material along with sound tracks ect . Really worth looking at . The hours and hours preparing these courses is amazing . If I had this kind of access years ago I would be in a greatly advanced position than I am now . Thanks Mark .
KING OF THE GROOVE STICK .

I am a retired educator (computer science), with decades of teaching experience, who finally has time to focus on music. I really like Mark’s teaching style. It's all business, and very well thought out. I like the simple visual background, with no distractions. I like his methodical and progressive presentation, starting simply and gradually increasing in complexity, with plenty of exercises along the way to solidify the concepts. And the downloadable lesson materials are very helpful. Two thumbs up!

Mark is a top-notch player and I always get a lot out of his videos. They are well edited and are instructive from beginning to end, which I appreciate. Sometimes I wish there was less "put x finger on y string at x fret", on complex licks because anyone playing the difficult licks knows how to make a Bb. Marks forte is technique and basic theory and applying it. That is a great service to the bass community. I also had an off-subject exchange with Mark and he was professional and helpful. He is among the top, and one of the guys I always recommend. I know of none better at what he does.

Great site and definitely one of the best go to bass sites for learning bass. Everything is laid out and explained in relatively easy bite sized steps. You can't go wrong with Talking Bass....oh and the teacher is alright too!! LOL

Good instructions put in an easy understandable way.

Mark’s style and lessons are very easy to watch and follow. When I first began learning there was too much information. Mark still provided me with a lot of info, but structured it in a way that left me feeling more confident. Now I am understanding the instrument and my relationship to it in a much more clear way. Thanks, Mark!

It’s unbelievable. For the price of a couple lessons with a good teacher you get what would be YEARS of instruction. I finally have lessons available anytime, in my pocket, and my reading has improved more then it has in 15 years of study. It’s so well done, so helpful, and it’s freekin easy! if you do what mark says that is ;) I cannot recommend this enough. I bought the reading thing and the walking bass thing, both are absolutely fantastic

Top class stuff, 10/10.

I am a (very) amateur bassist. Somewhere along the line I have started playing with people way above my level so I decided to stop messing around and take the instrument seriously.

I googled around many resources, most of them seemed a random collection of videos with nothing in the way of progression routes etc. Seemed like a waste of time - that I would get lost in the process.

Then I discovered TalkingBass and was bowled over with how structured and organised it is. There are clear progression routes through so many subjects/skills/genres. I tried some of the free lessons and was so impressed that I took the first opportunity to enrol onto the "all access" pass.

I started right at the beginning and couldn't believe how many mistakes I was making with basic techniques. I was Mr Typewriter-Fingers! I have now nearly completed my third course on the all-access area in just a couple of months. My bass playing has developed exponentially. I enjoy the process so much that I am practising for an hour a day.

I am an experienced teacher (of physics, not music!) and can vouch for the fact that there is method in how the lessons are structured.

Thanks for all of the hard work that has been put into developing these courses. Please keep adding more, at the rate that I am going through these I will be desperate for new material!

This really is a fantastic site, I've learned stuff I never dreamed I'd be able to even understand let alone attempt to play! I wish I'd had access to this kind of tutoring when I was in my teens & twenties. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, Mark!

Excellent structure of the lessons. One never feels lost. It is entertaining and fun. Can‘t image how to improve. Just top 👌🏻

All of the lessons on here are top notch and Mark is an excellent teacher. He really breaks things down so I can really understand them and apply to my bass playing.

Without a doubt my favourite online bass teacher. I have learnt far more from Marks unique teaching style than any of the other online bass lessons. Plus Mark's free lessons are very informative & worthwhile, demonstrating not only his generosity but also his passion in passing on his comprehensive knowledge of the bass.

I had been casually playing bass for more than 20 years when I found a YouTube video by Mark and went to his website. I've purchased several of his courses and all I can say is if I had these resources 15-20 years ago, I'd be so much farther ahead. Even so, I've made a lot of strides in my playing and see more of a clear path forward to improving. I've had so many "ah ha" moments watching Mark's videos I can't wait to see what more he comes up with.

Mark offers lessons that are easy and fun! As a beginner, I find these courses easy to follow and enjoyable!

These lessons are THE best I’ve used and rival that of a face-to-face lesson. Mark makes everything very clear and easy to understand. He can’t suddenly increase your skill or dexterity, but he can and does put you on the right path. Can’t reccomend highly enough

Great site. Lots of people do not respect the Bass instrument. The site teaches one to respect Bass playing and that there is a lot to learn. Keep it up guys

Mark makes a point of providing extremely clear and detailed explanations, so you can really learn along. Plus, he has great tone and technique !
