I did the scale essential course and I learned much. It really opened the fretboard, as Mark said. The course gives you a lot of knowledge and every lesson is fun to walk through.

I had been taking advantage of the free courses Mark gives away for some time and decided to take the plunge and sign up for the all access pass. So glad i did. As ever Mark is an excellent teacher with a laidback style. I have limited time to practice and the site allows me to go at my own pace and pick and choose what I want to do. I would recommend talkingbass to anyone wishing to learn, wether as a beginner or a more advanced player. You won't be dissappointed.

Recently signed up for Scale Essentials For Bass Guitar and must say after many years messing about on bass I am starting to get an understanding of the hows and whys. Mark is an excellent teacher. As for the cost well yes one may say its expensive but then I paid £25 for a one hour lesson and got nothing like this - thanks Mark.

Mark is an excellent teacher. I'm working through the walking bass lines course currently and things are making sense in a way they never have before. Love the way he breaks down difficult concepts. Highest recommendation!

I started learning bass about 3 months ago. Never learned playing any instrument before. Mark's lessons are a great way to learn fast and to learn what I want to learn. A very important thing to me is that the video's are up-to-date and Mark keeps in contact with students regularly on facebook. This motivates me every time to practice (maybe sometimes to much ;-)). Good work, Mark!!

I've been learning bass on and off for a few years and not really getting anywhere much. Finally decided I need to actually stump up some money after trying lots of free bass things on YouTube and it's been worth every penny! The courses are great, all the lessons are well presented and not to mention all the free content that is also available. I was paying good money for a 30 minute lesson at my local music school and getting no value ... TalkingBass gets 5 Stars from me no doubt about it.

Its a great site, pro instruction from Mark, easy to understand lessons and a variety of tunes to whet your bass appetite.

There is no time wasting yabber blabber like another very good bass tuition site and offers a good range of techniques/lessons.

Mark is a really good teacher

Mark obviously develops a detailed lesson plan for each concept he wishes to teach and then sticks to that plan. With little effort I can then go over the lesson in my mind whenever I like

Mike's courses are very comprehensive and excellent value for money. They require several months or years of study to master completely. They are staged so they have enabled me to reach a reasonable level go out and apply the knowledge, then dive back in to take in the more advanced concepts. The theory content of the courses is explained with perfect clarity.

Excellent site for beginners and advanced bass players as well. Mark is great teacher!

This is my go to guy on YouTube !! His version of Autumn Leaves at 200 bpm , is part of my EVERYDAY warmup.... it's been a great confidence booster and helped me get over my fear of jazz.

Five stars, no hesitation. Mark is a fantastic teacher of bass. To have access to a learning resource of this quality and depth, for free if you like, but with the choice of investing in a wide choice of material, is amazing.
The series of interviews with other bass professionals is especially interesting. A window into a fascinating world, genuine, intelligent musicians openly discussing their lives, brilliant.

excellent resources all the lessons are detailed easy to follow Mark's way of teaching allows you to make stady progress and interact to get thru the sticking points, always taking you to new levels of learning! For anyone the best online bass course i've experienced.

I've done a lot of training online for various things from web development to golf to bass guitar and Mark's instruction is first rate. He breaks down all aspects, including the deeper theoretical topics, into understandable lessons and practical advice.
