System Failure

I have been a SunPass customer for over 18 years, and I am extremely disappointed with the lack of assistance I have received. Due to personal and financial hardships, I fell behind on my toll payments and accumulated a significant balance. I asked if my tolls could be recalculated at the SunPass customer rate instead of the much higher Toll-by-Plate rate, but I was told there was nothing they could do.

To make matters worse, I made an $800 payment today. The money was immediately withdrawn from my bank account, yet it still does not show as processed in my SunPass account. This has been very frustrating and has only added to my concerns.

After being a loyal customer for nearly two decades, I expected more flexibility, understanding, and better customer service. Instead, I feel like there is no effort to help long-time customers who experience temporary financial difficulties. I hope SunPass reviews its policies and improves the way it treats loyal customers

I would NOT recommend this company!!!

I have written authorization to assist a friend with an inquiry regarding recurring charges that were deducted from his account. We have been trying to resolve this issue for more than six months.

During that time, I provided all requested information, submitted documents multiple times, even sent everything by postal mail, and called several times to ask for updates. For months, the company was willing to discuss the case with me and accepted that I was acting on my friend’s behalf.

After more than six months of waiting, I was suddenly told that they could no longer provide me with any information, despite having done so in previous conversations and despite the authorization provided.

The lack of communication, consistency, and effort to resolve the issue has been extremely frustrating. It feels like no real attempt was made to help or bring this matter to a conclusion.

Very disappointing experience. I cannot recommend this company based on the way this case was handled.

I received a Toll enforcement…

I received a Toll enforcement notification, and I noticed that, 1) The picture of the car, was not my car! 2) I have an active Sunpass Transponder, which would have paid my toll 3) I live 4+ hours North of the toll site. I filed a service request dispute, and I received a response that they closed my case, unable to process, because it was my plate number. I called back again and spoke with Jessica Marie Hagins. I told the 3 reasons why this is not my car, nor me going through the toll. She looked at the picture closely and could see that a letter of the plate had a glare and the letter was "R" instead of a "P". She is submitting to my service request file, that the plate number listed on the Toll Enforcement Invoice, is a plate misread! I have so very grateful for Jessica Marie Hagins!

Terrible customer service

I had someone make a replica of my vanity tag, put it on the front of their truck. I sent in my registration and pictures of my car to prove it was not me after 3 months of trying to resolve this, calling multiple times and receiving a lot of rude "customer service representatives" they sent it to collections and closed my disputes. I lived in florida for 5 years and was moved by the military, in my 5 years in Florida I never drove on a toll road.

Negative ⭐️ Option Needed

If possible to give a negative ⭐️ I would.
Sunpass needs new cameras, use more dependable methods of collecting tolls, better technology to determine those who disregard tolls, better search engines to use DMV to show who they accuse, and more & better Customer Service agents.
We should not have to spend time to rectify disputes, especially for those who do not have a Sunpass at all.
This year already I have been sent 3 notices of not paying tolls in South Florida and have not traveled there in years.
If they could see that I do not have the vehicles I am charged for are not even registered in my name. Yesterday I literally spent more than 2 hours trying to set the record straight to save my license from being suspended.
Sunpass is a joke and needs to be paying us to work for them.

What happened to this dept last 5 yrs?! They're a disgrace.

Used to be able to call them up and talk to a human. Many times they would walk me through issues and we'd resolve. Now, I'm on hold over 30 mins, sometimes being disconnected once I'm thru. Nobody to talk to, scammers seem to have got hold of our account number and are sending me Collection invoices. Why do I even have a balance if I'm on auto top up with my card? There seems to be an never ending balance on my account. Customer service is non-existent. Did they get a new boss who doesn't know what they're doing? This Florida dept needs to look at all these one star reviews and sort out this dept ASAP. I'm about to cancel the account and just pay invoices I can keep track on since I hardly ever use these toll roads anyway.

I purchased a sunpass mini from publix

I purchased a sunpass mini from publix, the next stage is to create an account.
Simple, click on create an account. Question, how do I wish to purchase a sunpass, in person or online?
Erm, I have it in my hand.
That's as far as the registration process allows me to go.
Half a day wasted going round in circles thinking the system must be workable, it isn't.
So I have the SPmini, just can't get an account to use it.

System Failure

The customer service reps have always been helpful and friendly when I call. However, dealing with SunPass technologies should be an embarrassment to the state of Florida. Unlike many businesses, there is no call back feature, one has to hold online for assistance rather than receiving a call back when it is one's turn . It is not new technology, myriad businesses have the feature. Today I was on hold 20 minutes the first time I called. When I finally reached an agent we were disconnected . According to the next agent I spoke with, after holding for an additional 25 minutes on my 2nd call, there is no way for an agent to call the customer back. Hence, I spent almost an hour holding waiting to have my account updated. I would have handled the matter online, but the website did not work. Also my vehicle assignments changed on my account when I purchased a responder for a new vehicle. I didn't make the changes. Additionally, after multiple requests I continue to receive correspondence from SunPass with my name misspelled. Florida, you can do better. What a shame Florida has such an antiquated system and insultingly cannot manage to properly spell my name. At a minimum, irie raising.

They are awful

They are awful. Customer service talks to you as if you’re a child and your concerns never get addressed. They try to push you onto the next person And nothing gets resolved.

I have to say that Sunpass is the WORST…

I have to say that Sunpass is the WORST thing every. They say you get a discount and that is a LIE. I just got off the phone with sunpass and to break it down they have a third party company that charges their own rate. I never knew that but yes it is true. I pay over 20 dollars a week because i have to work so I have no other option but to stick with this.. So dissapointed and pissed off. But who care it soes not matter right

Put it in your will , one lifetime will not suffice to get service

Been trying to activate a transponder that was deactivated for one account to my new account . They said takes 48 hrs. 5 days later , over 3 hours on hold . Now they say just buy a new one , it is easier !!!
Amazing how they can charge you at 70 miles per hour and in any condition , but using scratch pads for customer service . Time for competition

HORRIBLE customer service

Got a new transponder after not having a car for many years. Go to try and activate it. Can’t. Can’t figure out why. Can’t log in. Can’t reset password. Can’t create new account.

So I call the help line. The AI IVR is HORRIBLE. I finally get it to stick me in the queue to speak with a human.

I wait in the queue for 53 minutes before I am picked up. The agent says my old account was closed and that she’d put me on a brief hold while she check if they can reactivate the old account or what would be the course of action.

2 minutes on hold and she comes back acting like she suddenly can’t hear me and ends the call.

I’ll be making a call again in the morning and complaining to a supervisor at sunpass.

Don’t expect much help from these folks.

Lamentablemente, tuve una experiencia muy negativa con el servicio al cliente de SunPass. Una representante, de manera completamente inapropiada, me dijo que no quería atenderme, lo cual considero un trato irrespetuoso e inaceptable para cualquier cliente. Este tipo de comportamiento no refleja la atención que uno espera de un servicio público. Espero que SunPass revise la conducta de su personal y ofrezca la capacitación necesaria para garantizar un trato respetuoso y profesional a todos los clientes.”
"Unfortunately, I had a very negative experience with SunPass customer service. A representative, in a completely inappropriate manner, told me that she did not want to assist me, which I consider disrespectful and unacceptable for any customer. This type of behavior does not reflect the level of service one expects from a public service. I hope SunPass reviews the conduct of its staff and provides the necessary training to ensure all customers are treated respectfully and professionally."
