Problems with Stannah stairlift fitting.
There was problems fitting my Stannah 500. The fitter wore metal toecap shoes and the metal toecaps were exposed which scratched my laminate flooring. Luckily polish and wiping the floor awhile got the marks off eventually. There was a problem with the remote control on the chair so the fitter had to rob another chair that he had on the van that he was fitting later. He had to ring for advice for that. Then during my test run, a sensor alarm kept going off which took another hour to fix. After he left I used the chair and the alarm went off again and I had to get another maintenance man out the next day from Stannah in Norwich to repair it. So all in all it spoiled my excitement of my new Stannah! Told Stannah but no apology. You may wish to use another stairlift company. Don’t believe the ad that says fitters take their outside shoes off. They do not!

Hearing about the damage to your laminate flooring from footwear, the issues regarding spare parts, the repeated sensor alarms, and the lack of a prompt apology is concerning. We recognise how these combined events compromised the excitement of receiving your new equipment.
The behavior described does not reflect our standard procedures regarding home care and equipment testing. We will review this situation with our regional installation and customer service teams. We will reinforce our protocols regarding protective shoe covers to prevent property damage and ensure proper staff communication. Your comments will be used to improve our overall service quality moving forward.
Stannah gives you a lift !
Fitters were very professional, pleasant and very understanding of 'older folk'. They were very quick and left no mess. Excellent experience all round thank you. The chair works very well and at this stage we have no complaints. I have recommended Stannah to several other people.

The usual excellent service.
The usual excellent service from the Stannah engineer who visited to carry out annual maintenance of a stair lift, and took action regarding to correct an occasional fault that we had mentioned.
One star is was removed due to what I feel is a serious (and - for Stannah - surprising) design flaw in that the reset button is positioned on the downward side of the stairlift. This makes it dangerous for a person to reach when standing at the top of a flight of stairs.
Please note that I am referring to the 'Master Switch' that powers the stairlift on and off.
It is a simple enough thing to do IF you are on the downstairs side, but dangerous if you are on the upstairs side.

After phone call to say the stairs were broken and blocking the main entrance to house. They were there the very next day and the young lad was very friendly and fixed the problem.
