Simple-Minded Customer Service

It seems like many people I have found that customer service is nonexistent. I have used their compact soap dispenser which works until it doesn't. It fell apart after fogging up inside the soap holder and stopped working. I am a reasonably intelligent person but there is no way to fathom their "customer service" online page or information requests. So I took a shortcut after reaching out three times to speak/write to them. I bought a new item (the same as the one that broke) and returned the broken one to the store where I purchased it. Now they'll get it back as an unusable return. Too bad!

I bought the 300 dollar sensor garbage…

I bought the 300 dollar sensor garbage can. I loved it until after 8 months the entire inside rusted. They refuse to replace it. They say they can all rust and that is part of the aging product. Eight months in a house we were not in for three of them. I have bought many simplehuman products but have never had this problem. They will not replace it so their warranty means nothing.

Simplehuman zeepdispensor met sensor leeft slechts 2,5 jaar

Zeepdispensor met pompje en sensor na 2,5 jaar defect. Twee maal deze ervaring. Eerste keer nieuwe ontvangen, tweede keer identieke defect door Simplehuman beantwoord met: “end of life”. Klantenservice prima, snel en adequaat. Product niet.
Op Simplehuman site uitsluitend positieve reviews en geen reviews ouder dan 2 jaar, beetje verdacht.

This company is an ABSOLUTE joke! I've had a Simple Human mirror for awhile that I love for the short time that it worked. I ordered another one because it's been the mirror I've liked most for the light and magnification options. I just ordered another one for Black Friday bc my old one quit working. I finally received it...the shipping they use is ridiculously slow. It didn't work. I sent it back and got another one. Guess what...the second one didn't work either. After waiting forever to get a response from their customer service, I had to talk them through the issues, send a video and then return that non working item as well. They are sending me another mirror but refuse to expedite it or do anything to make the problem right. Their attitude is very "oh well!" I even paid expedited shipping for the last defective mirror because today is 2/6 and I've been waiting since 11/25 to receive a mirror that freaking works. When I wrote the company again for an update all they say over and over is "I apologize for the inconvenience." They're like robots. I know it's not on the customer service employees, but be prepared to be looked at as a bother if you work with this company!

SimpleHuman Sensor Soap Sump…

Purchased a SimpleHuman sensor soap pump in April 2022. We loved it! It worked great! Till one day it didn't work. We tried new batteries, we tried everything on SimpleHuman website. Finally wrote to SimpleHuman; they responded promptly, asked for more info, including a video of the pump not working. I had my doubts about the process; it seemed that asking for a video of a product not doing anything at all was kind of strange. But within 24 hours of submitting the required information, I got a response from SimpleHuman saying they would honor the warranty, and they are sending me a new pump!

The worst part of this experience was…

The worst part of this experience was the company response; essentially: "Who cares? Just buy another one". I regret purchasing an overpriced hand soap dispenser destined for the landfill because it stopped recharging just one month beyond the miserly two-year warranty. When I consider that rechargeable toothbrushes, cell phones, etc., can work for 7, 10, or more years, there is no excuse for this corporate irresponsibility to their customers and the environment. They should, at the bare minimum, provide replacement parts or, better yet: make reliable products.

Update: I'm glad to say that SimpleHuman has opted to send a free replacement hand soap dispenser. It really was only two years old. I don't know what I'll do with the broken one....disassemble and see what can be done I guess. I need to rethink my approach to buying electronics that cannot repaired. Changed rating to 3 stars.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. Bought two soap dispensers. First one did not work so returned to BedBathBeyond for replacement. Second one worked for three months and then would not hold a charge. Only way to use it was with the charger always plugged into the wall in my bathroom.
Company refused to stand behind their product and refused to replace or fix the dispenser. Terrible customer service and company.

Good luck trying to return a defective…

Good luck trying to return a defective product. First had to open a ticket (horrible website when trying to log in), then had to give them their own product information (2nd request from customer service). Then had to submit a video (I'm not kidding - 3rd request), showing them the product does not work. THEN was asked for proof of purchase and warranty information- 4th request from them (which they had since I am a registered customer). All I wanted was to exchange the defective soap dispenser for another one. Horrible experience! Sad because we love their trash can and have not had any issue with it. I believe their products to be decent but c'mon. Why have a loyal customer jump through so many hurdles just to exchange a product. I'll be shopping elsewhere. UPDATE: Finally was given the option of exchanging my defective item. After 2 days, it broke again. When I asked for a refund, I was told that the warranty only covered a replacement and I would have to - you guessed it, submit photos, videos, item number... I just wanted a refund. No luck. I'm done with (un)Simple Human.

American Human

I contacted support to understand why my £300 voice activated bin doesn't understand the word "bin" or why it doesn't even respond to my tame Northern accent. They just shrugged it off and said it's an American company, and they don't validate their design outside of America. That was it. No apology. No money back. They didn't even suggest how they'd work to better inform the public of this shortcoming or take remedial design steps. So enjoy this one star review.

Thought Spending More Meant Better Quality. It Doesn't.

I and 2 other friends were always supporters of purchasing expensive products that will last longer. Hence why we have spend hundreds filling out apartments with simplehuman dispensers, bins, organizers, etc. However, Simplehuman has made a poor impression on all of us. For simple manual items, simplehuman appears fine. But, my 2 friends and I purchased their automated soap dispensers. In less than a year, the soap dispensers have failed for all 3 of us. For me and one other person, the dispenser stopped dispensing soap properly. For the third person, the soap dispenser refused to hold a charge.

For 2 of us, our warranty is actually still active since purchase but the company literally tried to downplay the situation by making us take a discount as a solution and has no responded when we pointed out the warranty of 2 years. For the other friend, her soap dispenser stopped working a month after warranty ended. We all tried to contact Simplehuman and their response was a measly, pathetic 20% off coupon.

20% off doesn't even entice me to buy from a brand normally, so why does Simeplehuman think 20% off their already expensive, poorly made products would make me a staying customer? Especially after my previous item only lasted a year before malfunctioning?

After this poor experience and knowing others who experienced the same, I'm no longer purchasing any electronic products from simplehuman and I recommend others to also not purchase. This company is so pathetic and they don't care about keeping loyal customers who support their brand.

Terrible, Non-Existent Customer Service

This company's servicve is awful. I spent over $80 on a soap dispenser for my shower and it would not stay mounted on the wall using their adhesives. Several pieces to it broke on the 3rd fall. When I tried to get replacement parts, I was told I would have to buy them since I didn't still have the receipt. This was after someone finally responded to the text message I sent. For some reason I went ahead and ordered the parts, and now I keep getting emails saying the package has arrived, but no package. I have tried using their "Chat" and text features to get help, but no one ever answers or responds. When you text you just get an automatic reply saying someone will get back to you within 48 hours. No phone number to actually call anyone either.

Really bad service and product.

I bought a mirror for my wife for Christmas.... it does not light up and does not even show a "green light" charge. I sent message on Dec 26th through Texting customer service. They did not respond until a week later... That was ok with me, given the holidays. They asked for a video and a Serial number. I gave both, and then no response for 5 days. Finally they asked if I wanted a new one, I said yes. Then they sent me a new one... I got it and it does not light up. So I started the texting again... 5 days later... what is your serial number.. I gave it to them and then... no response, I'm on my fifth day. So now I have two broken mirrors at my house. No idea how they want to ship it back. I'm super disappointed in the product and service.

Do not buy here!

Do not buy here!! The service is bad, they dont respond properly and the products are expansive and will break after a short period of using. HORRIBLE!!!

Best garbage Ever

Best garbage Ever! I highly recommend the can and the bags that go with it. It’s well worth it! Works perfect… trust pilot is the only place you will find negative reviews, every else love their products.

Wish I read these reviews before…

Wish I read these reviews before attempting to deal with almost nonexistent customer service. You don’t know who you’re communicating with through their texts and emails. Horrible customer service—no listening and ignores their customers. Will not purchase their products again.

UPDATE: It arrived in the mail quickly! The best way to contact them is directly through email, no through the 3rd party app.

Don't buy from SimpleHuman

I returned a $90 dog food container that was too large for my space. I used Simplehuman's FedEx return label. The return was received on Dec 27, 2022, per FedEx tracking. I never received notice that they got the return nor have I gotten a refund. They don't have a customer service number only chat, text and message. I tried all of them with no resolution or a response from a human. Guess humans don't work there only computers. I will not purchase from them again.
