I have no issue with the staff at my local Sandyford store, they're great. My issue is with UK head office warranty policy. I bought a tap which developed a drip withing four months. They agreed to re... Zobacz więcej

SOME POOR QUALITY ITEMS
Some of the products they sell are not of acceptable standard, i.e. poor quality. I bought an Essentials Entrance Mat 900 x 1500mm and the manufactured quality was appalling, so much so that it was split along the edging, which could cause a trip hazard. I returned it and was given a refund no problem. I bought another whilst I was there, hoping that it would not present the same problem, but I got it home and discovered it was exactly the same. In my opinion this mat should be removed from sale. There are no reviews about this mat on their website, and I am unable to submit one via my Screwfix app or on their website. The fact that I can't even submit a review is an urgent matter which Screwfix need to address immediately. My advice is DO NOT BUY this mat, it's dangerous.
Waste of time
I ordered a camera with free delivery from Screwfix Ireland, but the next day they emailed me asking me to call them for account security! Then they told me we are so sorry but you have to collect the item instead of having it delivered!!!
I asked for a refund, and I will happily buy my item from other vendors even if it costs more.”

Unfair refund processes
Computer says "NO!"
Unfair Click & Collect refund processes!
I have to say that previously I've been satisfied with Screwfix, having not had any reason to contact them. But .......
Ordered over €200 of goods for collection in store - 2 hours from me. At time of order the info was that some items would take 2-3 days to reach the store. Fine, as I was going there in 4 days time.
The next day I got email to say those items would be 3-4 days. This meant I would not be able to collect.
So, after ages trawling through their site looking for contact telephone, I spoke to customer rep who told me best thing was to collect the available items and cancel the unavailable items. She told me she had done so. It would take 3-5 days to hit my account.
I then called back to ask could if those unavailable items possibly be delivered to me. No, even though over €50. Not possible to split the order like that now. Computer says NO.
Just by chance she mentioned that a refund request would be going through in 3 days time, and would take a further 3-5 days to hit my bank. Not today as previously told. (This delay is, of course, the bank's fault). And, refund request could only be made AFTER the unavailable goods have arrived at the requested store in Cork.
What?????????
Up to 8 days to receive a refund for unavailable items? Or, possibly even more. What if the items take a month to arrive there?
This, I was told, was "just how the system works" i.e. "Suck it up"!
But, aha, if I wanted, I could reorder the unavailable items now for delivery. So, Screwfix would effectively be paid twice or the same goods. Once for goods that wouldn't ever be supplied but would be refunded for in approx 8 days, and once for the same goods that would be delivered in a few days time.
Funny, really!
Money is deducted from me almost instantly for goods ordered, that by the nature of the transaction I won't get for some time.....
But, but, but, it takes up to 8 days or maybe even longer, to get my money back from Screwfix, for unavailable goods that they cannot supply as promised before ordering.
Is this what's called good cash flow management? Or just very sharp business practice?
Seems just a tad unfair to the customer.

I have a voucher for 300 euro for Screwfix Ireland when I went to used it to buy a tool Well let’s just say to call it a disaster is not a strong enough word
The fella was getting frustrated as was I It wasn’t his fault it’s their absolutely useless system that they use. Then I decided to contact Screwfix directly using their WhatsApp number a person called crystal dealt with me ( well actually she didn’t she was very slow to help and then gave me a email address to complain to ) My advice to anyone who is thinking about buying a voucher from Screwfix Ireland is DON’T !!!!!
Discount Not Applied as Advertised
The Screwfix app promoted a discount that was never applied at checkout. This is misleading advertising and needs to be addressed.
longer delivery times than stated :-(
Last two orders I purchased for click and collect were days late arriving into local store,
very frustrating ,
advise people to not depend on Screwfix's delivery timelines
Screwfix Portlaoise
Today I went to Screwfix in Portlaoise, I was looking for short wideish pop revits. (I'm a DIY er) I met the most helpful, patient lady who got down numerous boxes of revits until we found some to suit. I would like to commend the lady in question. Service like is hard to find.
A very bad service from Stephen
A very bad service from Stephen, i went to buy a nail guy and nails that costed me €500 at first he explained that i cant use somebody account even if he is the one sent me, the next i needed to make a call to comfirm if i can go ahead since they have to order it , Stephen was so pissed off and throwing hands up like im disgusting him, he was just very rude on me but thank you to another employee who stepped in and assisted me.
Good experience and good products
We ordered and bought a lot over the recent weeks and the experience in the Westport shop, the Coolock and Swords branches were fantastic. Easy to deal with, the staff is always very helpful and there is no drama with any returns. All products been good quality as well. Thanks
Screwfix is as sketchy as the products they sell
Originally, I wrote a review on Screwfix about a tool that was dissatisfactory. Screwfix blocked that review because I also mentioned their poor customer service with regards to exchanging the dysfunctional tool. Apparently, you can’t say anything disparaging about Screwfix within reviews. Here is my original review about a TITAN TTB970NST 32MM SECOND FIX ELECTRIC NAIL GUN / STAPLER 240V
GARBAGE!
I bought this second-fix nail gun for a small, light-duty project and was delighted with its flawless execution…for 35 nails, when it abruptly and irreparably jammed. I did as much de-jamming as the instructions allowed without success, so I returned it to Screwfix (per the manual instructions). After a bit of whinging and gaslighting, I was granted an exchange. The new one deployed exactly 19 nails flawlessly before irreparably jamming. This time I dismantled the tool beyond recommendation (and most assuredly, warranty) and was able to clear it, but thereafter, it has jammed every 3rd nail. It takes 15 minutes to completely disassemble the tool, un-jam and reassemble; i.e. unusable. (If anyone is curious, the inner workings of this tool are incredibly flimsy, as one would expect for €47.95). I’m not returning the second nail gun as I was given such a hard time with the first. It’s simply not worth the petrol and hassle. The only good that can come out of this ridiculous ordeal is that my experience dissuades anyone else from purchasing this useless jam gun.
Screwed
Ordered a sliding chop saw last week.
For a next day delivery now been five days no sign of delivery, from parcel force another post office rip off company, driver apparently tried to deliver today at 2pm liar we were here all the time!
Could not call customer!
Spoke to manager in Screwfix was not interested in solving the problem in the end escalated to customer service with no response time given.
I want my money back but manager couldn’t arrange that !
Clients let down and I am out of pocket!
Bad , Bad , Bad
Avoid this company at all costs
Screwfix 💯
I love Screwfix always open friendly staff and so many products 👍
Dont buy Titan petrol tools
If you buy garden tools from screwfix buy branded. The titan stuff is chinese crap and if you want that type of stuff Lidl is cheaper and you can sometimes actually get spares for the lidl stuff. Chainsaw, hedge trimmer and strimmer all packed in within 18 months. No parts available customer service are patronising and unhelpful. All dead money for these things and they KNOW theyre rubbish
Ordered paint yesterday for delivery…
Ordered paint yesterday for delivery today and never arrived. Spent hours on phone, woman Sarah was rude and making feeble excuses, manager wasn't available so called me later.
Just pure Smarmy and rocky, said he'd refund but can take a week, offered me a £10 credit for hours of abuse on the phone and for a week my painting will be delayed a tenner! Dam is obviously confused,I'm the abused customer and should be helped. It's their NEGLIGENCE AND INCOMPETENCE.
Poor service
I was in the Turners Cross, Cork store last weekend. Very poor service. The guy that served me was very patronising I had the exact name and reference number of the product I was looking for but he said that I should get it up on my phone as this was easier for him.
I asked him a question about the product which he made no effort to answer.
When I paid for what I wanted he left the receipt on the counter just walked away from the till, no good bye or thank you.
Throughout it all he was rather rude and like someone that did not want to be at work. Maybe he was having a bad day or something but either way very poor service
I had an extremely disappointing…
I had an extremely disappointing experience at the Ashbourne Screwfix branch. I asked a staff member (older gentleman) for help choosing between an air-con unit and a fan. Instead of assisting me, he was rude, dismissive, and even raised his voice, telling me to stop talking and get out of the shop. As a local business owner next door (Fade N Go barbershop inside GoGym), I was shocked to be treated this way. Thankfully, the manager stepped in and was helpful, but the staff member’s behavior was unacceptable. I hope Screwfix addresses this, as no customer should be treated like that.
No information for collection
I ordered online and never got an sms/email to inform me that my item was ready for collection.
I've been waiting 4 days, for an item that is needed asap, so i decided to contact their online chat system only to meet someone who never even introduced themselves.
I was waiting for the company representative to say "Hi, I'm someone working for Screwfix, can I have your order number please".
But I was left waiting for a few minutes and then asked "are you still there?"
Very frustrating, basic manners would have led to an instant conversation instead of waiting there like an idiot.
Anyways, I'm not happy with the situation. I could have had the job done already.
