Are they even reading my emails?

I ordered 5 shirts to Europe. When 20 days were over and no shipping was announced, I contacted customer support. They sent 4 items, telling me that one was out of stock, asking me if I'd like another shirt. I repeatedly asked them to just refund the item they never sent; however, THEY repeatedly asked me what kind of other item or voucher I wanted. Weeks went by, and they now say the shirt will arrive in their stock in about a week and whether I'd be willing to wait; that I'd get a skirt for free but couldn't specify 'the gift'. (Keep in mind that was AFTER I told them an item I'd be willing to receive instead?) Well. I didn't even try to refund the shirts they sent and don't fit for me; that's money spent on a lesson learned. In the future, I will order from their Amazon shop if at all, because the clothes themselves are nice.

Amazing clothing, lacking customer support

The quality of the clothing is good, but I intially ordered something completely different and they didn't let me know it was out of stock. Almost 7 weeks went by and I heard NOTHING. I reached out to their customer support, I could exchange my items and got my order the week after. So if they just didn't sell things that wasn't in stock, everything would be a 5/5 star experience! I would love to receive what I ordered, but what I did get was also great.

I recently ordered for the first time…

I recently ordered for the first time from them. I didnt realize they were not based in the USA when I ordered so shipping took about a month (there was also a holiday too which delayed shipping) I emailed to inquire about my order and Customer service took a couple days to reply but I was assured my order was on the way.
The products I ordered are of good quality and even more beautiful in person! I emailed customer service again after receiving my order for help with a small issue and in the end I am happy with my products and happy with the service I received. My only recommendation for anyone who plans to order is that if you need the products in a hurry then you should spring for the expedited shipping.

Giving 4 stars based on shipping time and response time from customer service

Would order again!

I have placed two orders with S.D. The first order was last summer and while shipping took some time it was within a reasonable time frame given the distance the items are traveling. I was really pleased with the quality of the clothing. I wear the dresses almost daily and they have held up beautifully without any sign of wear!! The most recent order I placed early-April and have only just received my order (end of May). This was an exceedingly long time to wait! However, I will note that customer service was responsive when I messaged and unfortunately it seems that the reason for the long delay was that the package was trapped in the U.S. likely due to the new issues with tariffs and slow downs in our ports. I did have an issue with one of the items not fitting right and, again due to tariffs, the return option would be essentially useless. Customer service was wonderful and is shipping an alternate item for free. I do think that the customer service department really handles things well and puts their customers first! Also, the other items from my most recent order are really beautiful and seem well-made and I'm very pleased with them.

This company is a total scam

This company is a total scam. I ordered 4 articles of clothing, I received 2, the cheaper items in my basket, and the other two have not even prepared to ship. I ordered March 24th, it is May 21st today. I have contacted Scarlett Darkness multiple times through email, Shopify, and have never received a response. It was only through leaving a comment on an influencers page on IG and tagging both of them that SD responded and said someone would reach out. They never did. They are literally stealing your money, do not support this company with your hard earned money!!

Dishonest and deceitful

If I could give a negative star review, I would. No shipping notice after a month so I requested a cancellation and refund. A week later I received an apology email saying my items were out of stock and did I want to pick something else... Now three emails later I am told I will have to wait until the items have been returned to them before they will issue a refund but still they will not provide proof that items have even shipped.

From Norway - missing my order!

I am a customer from Norway, and the site ships to my location. I ordered for 1500kr for 3 items of clothing. It has been a month and I have only received 1 of them; The cheapest one. I have emailed customer service, but have heard nothing from them. Their return policy is that if I have received parts of my order, I can't cancel or return the rest - What is that about? This site seems like a scam, and I would not recommend anyone to buy from here. I've read from others that you can order from amazon, and will do that next time. I will take back everything in this review if the rest of my order comes before summer.

Dieser Shop ist nicht zu empfehlen!

Ich habe einmal über Amazon bestellt, da lief alles in Ordnung. Die Qualität war auch ganz okay.
Diesmal habe ich aber direkt über den Webshop bestellt und es ist eine Katastrophe.
Ich hab eine Info über den Eingang meiner Bestellung erhalten aber keine Info wann das Packet versendet wird. Nach 2 Wochen habe ich mehrere Anfragen an den Support gesendet, die nicht beantwortet wurden. Nach der dritten Woche habe ich nochmal geschrieben und endlich eine Antwort erhalten mit der Aussage, dass die Produkte aktuell nicht verfügbar sind. Warum schreibt man das nicht direkt in den Onlineshop?
Auf jede weitere Nachricht dauerte es 2-3 Werktage bis eine Antwort kam.
Man bot mir an, dass ich mir andere Produkte aussuchen kann, auch hier dauerte es eine Info zu bekommen was eigentlich davon verfügbar ist. Nun sind angeblich zwei Pakete auf dem Weg zu mir und ich hab absolut keine Ahnung was darin ist. Auch wird mir nicht gesagt, was der Preisunterschied ist.
Anstatt eine Rabatt auf die bisherige Bestellung zu bekommen, würden mir Rabattcodes und Coins gegeben, die ich aber innerhalb der nächsten zwei Wochen einlösen müsste. Kundenservice 2025. Einfach traurig.
Ich werde nicht nochmal bestellen und bin gespannt welche Produkte überhaupt ankommen und wie ich mein Geld zurück bekomme.
Dieser Shop ist nicht zu empfehlen!

I really wish I had not purchased…

I really wish I had not purchased through this company. I ordered, after a few weeks not getting anything saying they had sent my order, I emailed support. Only then did they say the items I purchased were not available. Disappointing and weird that they didn't tell me right away, but ok. They said I could order other things as an exchange. Each time I emailed back with an exchange item, even though the website said it was available in the size I wanted, support emailed back (eventually) that the items were not available. Why advertise stock you do not have?! I tried 4 or 5 times. Beyond frustrating. They finally said they sent one of the 2 original items. I was pretty frustrated. One month later... Finally they let me know 2 skirts that were available that I could exchange to. Every day for a week I emailed them which I wanted. It took 8 days for them to respond back! Unbelievable. They never offered money back or even a partial refund and the 1 item I finally got exchanged ended up being less than what I paid for the first skirt for. DO NOT purchase from this company unless you don't care if you waste money, get ripped off, and do not want what you actually ordered. Save yourself money and effort and buy thru Amazon, at least they won't sell you something they don't have, or will send your $ back if they don't follow through.

As a bonus, the original item (shirt) I ordered was lovely and of nice quality. A pity it was such a disaster of an experience I will never want to attempt to repeat by ordering from them again. Best of luck!

Good products, awful customer service

I will start by saying the products are very nice (ordered before via amazon). BUT the customer service is truly AWFUL.

I ordered a corset on April 3rd because I have a medieval event on May 3rd, so 1 month in advance. The site says shipping is between 7-10 business days, but after 20 days I HAD TO REACH OUT TO THEM to know where my order was! And only THEN they told me the corset I had bought was out of stock!

They could have reached out to me WAAAAY sooner to change my order!

When I changed to order a different corset that was in stock, I asked them if they could garantee it would arrive in time, I had to ask them MULTIPLE times through e-mails, before they anwsered with an extremely generic response: it will take 7-10 business days.

So bottom line, the corset will NOT be here in time, and talking with customer service is like talking to a robot that doesn't understand your very basic question.

Items I ordered are of good quality! I really love everything I ordered. I accidentally ordered two times of the same thing and customer service was good. I do believe they are a smaller company and so it took maybe 2 weeks to take care of my mistake.

Problems at every step

1. They do not respond promptly to support inquiries. 2. They have a horrible stateside delivery service. Placed order March 29, first attempt at delivery was 4/20/25, at 7pm, on a Sunday, to a school. Who tries to deliver to a school at that time and day??? Second delivery attempt was 4/24/25, at 5 PM, after school hours were over. 3. Online chat is just a bot that collects info, cant chat with a person. 4. Called support right after they open at 10 AM, on hold for 25 minutes, then had person who was very difficult to understand, phone connection kept fading out. 5. At the end of the support call she gave me her name but would not give me a reference number for the call. I would recommend you think hard and long about ever ordering from this company.

4/27/25-You sent me a reply but Trustpilot does not have a mechanism for me to respond to your replay so I will edit my review in an attempt to reach you. The deliver service has tried a THIRD time to deliver, on the weekend, to a school. There is something wrong with these people. I don't want a refund at this point, I want the clothing I ordered. If you are unable to bring that about, then I expect a full refund, not partial.

Scarlet Darkness is a great company. I have purchased several pieces for costumes for RenFaires and I've been very pleased with every product I've chosen. I find their products to be reasonably priced and very good quality. I highly recommend Scarlet Darkness.

Absolutely stunning dresses

Honestly some of the prettiest dresses I've bought online. I have 6 or 7 in various models. The prices are very reasonable and once you found your size, every model will fit easily. And they have pockets!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!

I absolutely LOVE Scarlet darkness!! I’ve never had a single issue with their clothes outside of ordering the wrong size. Great material, beautiful patterns, and all at decent prices! I absolutely love that all of their skirts and dresses have pockets, they’re decently deep pockets too!! I am so happy that I found this place and have very quickly become a loyal customer. I sing their praises to everyone that asks where I got whatever I may be wearing at that time!!
