Waste of time

Waste of time. Said the company I was looking for was active on their platform, spent almost an hour pulling together the information to file the complaint only to immediately receive a "this is a no response email" response from the provider. When I reached out to support they told me the only thing I could do was to reach out to them directly. Strongly recommend avoiding so you don't waste time like me.

Unethical trap

I was recommended resolver by the search engine. I spent time completing the online form and then I forced to sign up. After which nothing. No case number no complaint visible. Complete scamming site taking advantage of consumers who have already received poor customer service and may be vulnerable as a result. Use the normal routes for escalation and not this nonsense website. I tried to complain about resolver but they don’t have a way to do that accurately too.

Unsolicited “account” email with no prior relationship, no explanation

Received an “Important Security Update” email from Resolver despite never having created an account or had any prior contact with them. I keep a full email history going back over 25 years and there is no record of any interaction.

There are at least five other people on Trustpilot reporting the exact same issue in the past 2 weeks, which suggests this is not an isolated case.

I expect Resolver will reply here stating that they “only email registered users” and that I "likely created an account in the past". That is not sufficient. Under UK GDPR, they must be able to show:

1. How and when my data was obtained, and the lawful basis for using it.

2. If accounts are being created indirectly (e.g. via complaints or third parties), this still requires a clear and transparent explanation.

I’ve submitted a formal Subject Access Request via their support email to get the full details and have not received any response beyond an automated reply stating they would respond within 5 days - that timeframe has now passed.

If they cannot properly explain the origin and use of my data, I will escalate to the ICO.

Rubbish Service

I used Resolver to send details to Lufthansa regarding a recent problem in 2022. Resolver advised case has been sent to Lufthansa and it may take a while but if so contact Resolver again. Ok, I forgot about it and its now 2026. Resolver has just emailed me to ask about multi factor authentication. I looked up the previous case and when I hit the case button it required my email and PW. I put this in and it didn't recognise my email even though its just sent me an email hey-ho

To clarify, Resolver is a free service that helps people raise complaints about UK-based businesses and organisations. We are not a third party or complaints management company and we do not investigate issues or act on your behalf.

All communication is between you and the company you have a complaint with. In any case of a limited or unsatisfactory response from a company I would advise you to be as proactive as possible with your communications. Continue to email from your Resolver case file, using the "New email" and "Reply" buttons found there; if that doesn’t get a response and there is the option to do so, call them.

Resolver - messages from beyond the grave?

Interesting to read some of the "suddenly receiving emails from Resolver" messages on here so thought that I would add my own experience... I have just started receiving messages from Resolver, only they are coming to my mother's address and she died two-and-a-half years ago so if she has been in touch with Resolver, I would definitely like more details!

I've never heard of Resolver but have…

I've never heard of Resolver but have just received spam from them. They claim to have helped 5 million people in the UK. I doubt that very much.

I have never even heard of Resolver…

I have never even heard of Resolver until I started receiving spam from them. I suspect they are engaged with data brokers/vendors or partner sharing to purchase people's personal information and just sending out bulk spam.
Unethical practices and no doubt will only offer to "delete" your email, which they shouldn't have in the first place, rather than being upfront about how they got your data at all.

need to clarify what they actually do

I think this website and company need to be clearer about what they actually do. They are keeping a log of any communications that you make through them to the company you are complaining, too.

Resolver do not act as agents on your behalf. I don't even think they had the correct email address for the company I was dealing with, as I was getting and have got nowhere.

I was under the impression Resolver would act on my behalf after a set amount of time. However, that is not the case. They just have template emails you can use at certain times and within time limits.

Useless, the required information cannot be sent on this platform.

This supposed 'help' in dealing with customer complaints is truly useless.

They respond on behalf of the COOP in the uk and they insist on receiving photos of the product you are complaining about.

When you have attached a photo and try to send your message it will tell you that 'YOU HAVE EXCEEDED THE ALLOWED SPACE AND THE ONLY WAY TO SEND YOUR PHOTOS IS VIA AN EMAIL' !

As you would expect from an inept organisation neither they, nor the COOP provide you with an email address.

Very clever. If you wanted to design something less helpful it truly would be a challenge.

In answer to your comments about your 'service'. Your service does not work because there is inadequate data facility to attach the pictures required by your client 'The Cooperative'. If you can facilitate this it would be very helpful, otherwise it's quite simply pointless to put your service in the way of a direct approach to 'The Cooperative'. I hope this is helpful.
